Such a shame Ana lost this one. She got so tentative towards the middle of the second set, shots landing short and losing her aggressive game. DIdn't attack the Bouchard serve at all unlike against Serena where she had nothing to lose and was swinging to the hills
Genie played extremely well and moved Ana all over the court hitting the corners and the lines. She got tired because she was always on defense and Genie played aggressively with accuracy. Don't forget that Bouchard reached at least semis of all GS in 2014 except the US Open where she was in quarters.
I use to always say to myself, “watch they will lose the next match after beating Serena” and they surely did, until Serena actually had to be almost 40 for another player to believe they could actually win the next match 😭

It happens all the time. They beat Serena then lose the next match. Players always play their best against the Williams sisters.

It’s the Serena back lash, they play lights out against her win but have no idea how to reach that level on the next match. Some do. Some .
I think a combo of those comments below: She was (also mentally) tired and Bouchard played great tennis
