Started the swap on Tuesday, and he picked it up on Saturday!
Im really gonna miss my ls1, but now its time to start ordering parts for the 2jz-gte VVt-i Build!
You need to make a how to video. you are amazing. I am contemplating doing this swap but I need more info.

It will be great if you do a video explaining the wiring part, it sound very easy, but in reality is not, like what wires to connect and where, I really like the way you explain things, so it will help to somebody like me that doesnt want to spend a lot of money paying somebody for the wiring part, and still have to attach the stuff.

Did you not weld in a flex pipe for the exhaust? It was hard to see. I ask because aren't they pretty important to prevent cracking of the exhaust manifolds? Of course the work you did was based on the buyers wants and needs.

Lol you would have to use some paint stripper or if that doesnt work (wow) you have to sand it down until its smoth enough then just prime and paint it i wouldnt care if its under the new paint job but of course its not your car so maybe the customer wants it that way so it looks rustic

I ended up buying that evo 9 I was talking about. but i have 2 questions now. one, is that the headlights are oxidized on my evo and in your last video you was going to restore some on the dodge. could you possibly do a video covering on how to restore lenses because I literally can't find headlights for an evo 9 and when I did they are crazy expensive. also where did you buy your tuning package like cables etc. for your evo? anyways thanks and keep up the good work, im enjoying your videos and feedback you have been giving me!

Awesome! Love motionauto Mondays! I have the same s13 with an rb20 I don't like how there is no obd plug to diagnose issues would that still be the case with a v8 swap? How do you go about finding out what's wrong?

Since this is a modern v8 it has the obd2 plug, so you can plug it into a scanner and read codes to find issues.
+MotionAutoTv awesome that's must make thing so much easier to diagnose my rb20 cam shaft position sensor went out randomly while swapping tryannys took me like a month to figure it out!

How do you tell the difference from SOHC KA and DOHC KA? Also could you swap any engine into a car (as long as it fits and has custom engine mounts) and put the ECU and harness from the car it came from into any car and it will work?
You can tell the difference between the two immediately just by looking at the valve cover. Think of a car as a puzzle. Put all of the pieces together and it'll work.
rear wheel drive vehicles are more easy, as long as you have the engine, fabbiing up mounts or conversion mounts/subframe, harness and ecu, you can do anything. the sickest swap ive seen was an rb26 ae86, fire wall must be hammered all the way back
probably the hardest part of a swap is the harness, but honestly if I were to do a swap I'd have the donors car ecu running the engine and the stock one to run everything else, fuck wiring.
+Ryan Olson I've seen premade wiring harnesses for many different s13 swaps available online. Can't remember where though, but they're around $500 which isn't too bad considering the time it will save.

+Billy Benedict The engine itself you can find for probably $500 and then what will cost might be mapping the engine if you are thinking about tuning it when you got it outside the engine bay and tool costs. If you got the tools it is essentially only the engine that will have to be bought :)
