  • Tone...Tradition...Innovation. Fender's new American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS is for guitarists who want a little more from their axes. A compound radius fretboard allows effortless string bending anywhere along the neck, and two new N3 NoiselessTM pickups provide improved Stratocaster tones while the DH-1 humbucking bridge pickup has more output for fatter lead tones all with no hum. Reconfigured S-1TM switching offers other distinctive tonal options. The all-new "passing lane" switch instantly routes your signal from any pickup position to the bridge position with the tone circuit bypassed, giving you more overtones and a little more volume. Other features include staggered locking tuners, LSR roller nut, two-point synchronized American Deluxe tremolo bridge with pop-in arm, and beveled neck heel.

    I’ve had this model since 2015 in Olympic Pearl. Had to take it to have the S1 button repaired. It was put into a pleck box and smoothed down. Sounds awesome now.
    I had to come here to find out what the two extra buttons actually do.

    I bought an identicle strat to this about 8 months ago and love it. Very versatile and totaly noiseless, who cares if its not as chimey as a regular strat! My last strat was realy terrible and was one of the reasons I got rid of it....I should have bought one of these in the first place! happy days :) oh and this video helped me to decide to get it so thanks for a great demo Robert!!

    Nice to see the S1 switch demonstrated. Some don't show it. Also shows the limitations of the humbucker 'passing lane' switch. No tone/volume control available and it reverts to the humbucker alone once the switch is pressed, regardless of what position the pickup switch is at. Thanks for an informative review. I liked it. I personally want to know what the guitar can do rather than criticise the playing and appearance of the reviewer. My Deluxe HSS strat sounds different to this when I play it. He is not playing shit, he is trying to help you choose a guitar, and you will get a different sound to him even if you have the same settings.

    I have Seymour SSL-1's and a Seymour '59 hybrid trembucker in my HSS and now it sounds amazing. The stock pups, although very noiseless, nice and clean sounding, were too sterile. The Seymours gave it that dirtied up vintage tone, which, if you like the way strats and les pauls sounded in the 60's and 70's you'll want to go ahead and do for yourself.

  • @NStuffMusic
    @NStuffMusic  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have to tell you...I like the pickups, granted the N3 give you a little more midrangey and are not chimey as the regular strat single coil, but they do the job nicely. And the noise free factor is awesome!!

    @ThyKingdomComeBand I think the HSS make the Strat a little more versatile. The humbucker will help for the Zeppelin stuff but the Foyd and Blues will be more of the single coil.

    Hey guys,
    would totally appreciate it if you could demo the s1 switch sounds on this guitar a bit more detailed - demos from the regular SSS- Version gave me the impression that this guitar could sound pretty much like a tele (especially if you put the neck and bridge PU parallel). I wonder how that position of the S1 sounds like on a HSS strat...
    Love your demos anyway!

  • @NStuffMusic

    This video is much better than most, but I am trying to figure out, what I am buying. You have done the best job so far, so well done, but in 20 seconds on a search engine, I found out 90% of what you said, which beats most everyone, but it noted that Bill Lawrence, asked to make the first noiseless pickups, used a rare Earth metal, Somarium Cobalt, but the N3 pickups are now Alnico, the magnet used in the past. * I still don't know what that "humbucker" is. I have heard guitars before. I wanted to know why I should buy a new generation Deluxe Strat? This is the best job I have seen yet. I still am looking for what the humbucker is and did it change. Not hating, but it should take me 20 min of watching videos to find out what the specs are, why the may be better, did they change, but this is the best video so far. I will keep looking to see what the humbucker is. This is nice advice and not trolling. Well done. I am not annoyed by this video, but trying to find out what the humbucker is, but this is the best video so far! Take care! Be Safe!

    Im happy because About 3 and half Mouths ago I have my Frist American Guitar I have is a fender American Standard Stratocaster is 3-tone Sunbrust with Rosewood Fretboard I change a Tuners with Fender Locking Tuners. On my Fender America. Standard and I change the pickups too with Custom shop Texas special pickups

  • @NStuffMusic
    @NStuffMusic  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    The pickup should not wobble around. There are 3 screws you can adjust for the pickup. I would make the pickup about 1/4" below the string.

  • @NStuffMusic
    @NStuffMusic  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I definitely like the Deluxe better it has the noiseless pickups, the compound radius, the locking tuners and LSR roller nut to make it stay in tune better, It has the blower switch to engage the humbucker in any position. $1559.99 with hard case and free shipping at nstuffmusic with coupon code FENDER35

    @N4KUM4 The HSS would be more versatile, but the SSS would be able to do just about anything you wanted it too as well. Best bet would be to try both with all styles of music you want to play, and see which one you like the best.

    Mine is a 2000 not a scratch on it , 3 color sunburst and the LSR nut.

  • @NStuffMusic
    @NStuffMusic  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @tannerthomason The compound radius is much more comfortable as far a s a playability standpoint. Especially on the strat. Soloing is much easier! I would buy the deluxe for that feature alone.

I have a G&L strat with a similar bridge and I don't use the trem.. so I lowered the bridge with the screws, all the way down, so it has minimal movement when I push a little with my hand .. do you know if the bridge metal can bend slightly or the screws get damaged if I keep it this way without blocking off the trem with a block etc... thanks
