My Great Gran drove a yellow one of these. At the age of 92 it was an experience to be a passenger as she drove like a race driver around Lanark. Thanks for the memories with this video. RIP Beatrice McIntosh!

It amazes me how you manage to find your stock
I’d buy every one of them if I could
Great work on keeping these treasures on the road

I second that comment, which I just came across now, two years after it was made. Just about every one of your videos, I am very surprised and stunned even at how good a condition all your classics are. Do you find them more or less in this pristine condition or is there much renovation going on beforehand? Either way, real good quality classics and I love browsing your videos.

Truly stunning. It certainly takes you back to a time when Britain was capable of producing desirable, world beating cars, without any foreign influence. Ah, those were the days...

Yes a great car from a great era!

Beautiful in every way. Gorgeous sporty rakish lines, lovely colour, and just stunning condition. My older brother had two of these when I was a kid, and I loved the whole experience of riding in them, from the smell of the interior on a warm day, and well sprung seats, to the little front quarter lights that you could open. They really were a characterful car.

Bloody lovely that fair play. A mate of mine had a Mimosa Yellow example, wrote it off and found a stunning late British Racing Green example with a pair of twin 40 or 45 Weber carbs back in the mid to late 80's. The Green example used to piss all over my Mk2 RS2000 off the mark back in the day. Looking at the pics, I love that standard SU air box.
Must not look at this, very very tempted indeed...

Thank you for sharing they are quite nippy in standard form with 127 bhp!

Unbelievably smooth. Wish they sold them here in the states. We missed out on this generation of awesome sports sedans

Perfect for the junior cad about town 1970s style. Nice car.

I always fancied one of these. My Uncle had a lower spec Dolomite, and that was quite nice. Nice restoration. Like gold dust now I'd say.

Ke bella, un capolavoro del Creato.... Un fiore troppo presto per strappato... Visse fino al 1977....

Gorgeous example! wish they still fitted overdrive on cars today! so much more flexible than extra gears.

    • @KGFClassicCars
      @KGFClassicCars  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes the override is great and works well, ideal for cruising!

lazycalm41 What was overdrive, and how did it work?
Forgive my ignorance, I was only a nipper in the 70's. Loved these cars though, my brother, now passed sadly, had two at the same time at one point.

  • @stratac30

Yes I had one of these in the late 70's, white with black interior, very comfortable to drive and cracking performance, unfortunately it succumbed to the dreaded tin worm - not unusual for cars of that period. If this Sprint is totally original it must have been kept in a heated garage and only driven in the summer!

Nice Carmine Red. I had my 1973 model Endrusted and it was as rotten as a pear within a few years...

People always like to have a go at Leyland cars and in most cases it's justified. Especially so when we consider Allegros Marinas Princesses Maxis. But there were gems like the Dolomite, great cars. Triumph, a great brand. Why did BL ditch Triumph in favour of Austin Morris ???
