      @@Brandongorrie ay no worries! It arrived today, have nearly finished a roll and so far I love it, how’s that shutter sound. Just watched your chernobyl video and looks like you’ve got a scanner? If you’re ever struggling for content one day a video on your scanning process using the stepson would be dope! I’m thinking about getting a v550 or something cheap

    One of the main functions of your AE meter prism you did not mention is the exposure lock button.
    You have to push the white button in the center of the on/off button and maintain it to lock the exposure.
    When pushing the white button you hear a "click" that blocks the speeds needle readout in the viewfinder.
    Caveat of the AE meter prism is that you cannot meter directly manually (only in AE aperture priority), the CdS elements are relatively slow in low light and it doesn't have long time shutter speeds, and it drain the battery if forgotten in on position 1 or 2 days.
    The manual metering PdS prism, with silicium elements, works fast in low light and has long time shutter speeds, it doesn't drain the battery at all. (but it's only manual). The LED readout is very precise.
    The manual metering CdS prism is not that convenient. it has it's own battery and shutter speeds have to be read on the prism speeds button and transferred manually to the body speeds button.

    Nice video man! Did you need to tweak the white balance of those daytime shots on 800T?

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, mostly because scanned film will project the hues of the negative itself, casting an overall color shift. The 800T negative itself is a dark greenish color so when scanned it casts a warmer red/yellow that you have to fix for daylight balance. For night time, not so much 😊💪

    For the money it costs to shoot 645 medium format....you are better off getting a digital camera and editing the pics. If you are going medium format: go 6x7

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  ปีที่แล้ว

      6x45 scans really well, gives me a great portrait ratio to work with, is portable, and has sharp glass.
      A 6X7 is more expensive to shoot, weighs a ton, is hardly portable (unless you’re shooting a TH-cam video then you kinda have to) and only gives me 9 shots per roll. If I want 6X7 quality I’ll shoot digital, m8. The 645 is a fantastic format shoot on.

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  ปีที่แล้ว

    On the lens there is a switch for M and A. Do you know what that stands for?

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  ปีที่แล้ว

      YES! The A stands for Automatic Aperture, which means it will stay open until you fire the shutter. So, if you set it to M and decide bring your F-stop to 16, you'll see darkness in the viewfinder because there is no light coming in! Hope that helped!

    How do you switch off the prism ?

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To switch it off you press down on the white button and turn the know to "off". If you're me, you need to insert a new battery nearly every time because you forget to turn it off!

    Can you tell please, is 1/500 shutter speed enough for daylight shooting or not?

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. The aperture will go to F22 which is plenty dark. However, if you’re looking to shoot fast subjects in freeze frame, I would go with 1000. If not, the 500 is brilliant!

    • @Brandongorrie
      @Brandongorrie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@antoniomargaretti4201 ah, I now understand. 500 will take you 80% of the way there, I think you’d either be looking at ND filters or maybe bargain with the 1000s. Personally the shallowest I shoot usually is F4 because I like that range for portraits. However, if you’re wide open on a BRIGHT day, your meter will be topping at 500 and even 1000 depending on the surfaces and reflectivity of the scene.
