That Train is beautiful, it certainly puts the Durango and Silverton Polar Express Train to shame, ( The Polar Express Train runs from mid-November through about the third of January. It's different each year.) The way the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is decorated is marvelous. God Bless You. Merry Christmas to all.
The Nomadic Railfan Unfortunately my Husband and I are unable to ride The Durango and Silverton Polar Express Train because of various health issues, and we have a card from the owner for two free tickets. The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is actually decorated much better than The Durango and Silverton Polar Express Train, and there is not much in the way of entertainment on board. ( We do know "Santa Claus" though.) Have a very Merry Christmas, and a very Happy New Year. God Bless You.
Hey Scott, This train was epic, looked even better at night when fully lit! Nice catch on Amtrak 68 too! This is one of my favorite videos! (Like #24). Hope you guys had fun! -Don
Good job buddy, beautiful video! Must have been fun and cold as well. Thanks Scott and Library Railfan for driving during the chase sequences. - Balerio
great awesome catches and video of the CP holiday train nice horn salutes too good catch too catching that meet with it with Amtrak Heritage 145 as well next to one of my favorite ;ages lake Champlain
Must be weird to hear that music cranked up at 2AM passing your house XD, "Oh just another train going by", then that WTF moment "Was that Jingle bells?? o-O I did get to ride on the KCS Holiday Express this past year though, quite nice.
CP definitely does a great job every year! lol, yeah it's definitely a bit far for you...I was lucky to have a friend willing to drive for this. Sure I do have my license and a car and don't mind driving, but I really give my friend credit for being able to pull this 600+ mile round trip off.
Thanks! That's cool. I saw it in Mechanicville last year. It was nice, but we weren't able to chase it. Once they were done in Mechanicville, they high-tailed it out of there to Saratoga Springs. Seeing it in multiple spots this year was honestly a lot better than just seeing it Mechanicville last year.
The Nomadic Railfan ok. I have an 800 and yours looked so good, but so far my attempts at night video have sucked hard. I’ll play around with the settings.
It could be something in the settings, yeah. Been awhile since I've used that model so I don't remember exactly what settings are available. But I also sharpen videos in editing.
That is the first time I've seen it in the day, as everybody shoots it at night! I have subbed to your channel, you can sub back if you like! Happy Holidays! Bob...
Thanks for watching and subscribing Bob! Happy Holidays to you as well. Yup, of course the best time to see it is at night, but seeing it in daylight was pretty great too.
i,ll take the so called ugly emd over a GE/ get educated ac. unit/ any day of the week / especially on the holiday trains / those ECO,S will get the job done with no issues.

Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes, the way CP does it is very nice. But I'm sure the Durango and Silverton is nice as well. Merry Christmas.

Thanks Don, yes it does look the best when it's dark out. It's really the only train that you can successfully film at night.
Good job buddy, beautiful video!
Must have been fun and cold as well.
Thanks Scott and Library Railfan for driving during the chase sequences.
- Balerio

River Line Productions awesome
GOOD JOB NOMAD
david mcstine Thanks!
Awesome Job My Man Do you think I may use some of your footage of the CP Holiday Train
Thanks! Uh, what exactly would you use the footage for?
What camcorder do you use?
I believe this video was filmed with my old camcorder, a Canon Vixia HF R400. My current videos are filmed with with a Sony CX405.
The Nomadic Railfan ok. I have an 800 and yours looked so good, but so far my attempts at night video have sucked hard. I’ll play around with the settings.

The Nomadic Railfan oh, how would you do that without losing quality?
Meh those ugly CP ECO's... :P But a very cool looking train and some awesome shots in this video, 9:28 = EPIC.
Thanks a lot Dan! The spot at 9:28 was probably "the spot" for this trip. That was my absolute favorite.
