Yes NEMOPHILA band members are all great musicians. The drummer is one of a kind, well respected within Japanese drummers community including the legendary Miki 'mittan' Tsunoda (SHOW-YA) and Kyoko Tomita (Princess Princess), its only fitting to place her up there alongside both of them with legendary status in Japan. Despite multiple musician wants her to be part of their band, she is happy and not ready to give up the opportunity to improve herself and gain experiences through her solo works and supporting drummer for various musician covering vast genres of music... until she met her 'sisters', the NEMOPHILA. Known as the smiling drums goddess, Ai Murata (stage name: Murata Tamu, or Tamu for short) is a powerful and established professional solo drummer. She started as jazz drummer in 2007 at the early age of 15 and received guidance from a very well established session drummer, Masahiko Noguchi at Saila Drum School, Yokohama, Japan. Now she is also a lecturer/instructor at Saila. She is on top of her game as a support drummer and the most sought-after for fill-in role in Japan for many years. Tamu continue her drumming activities after graduated from high school and in 2013 she launched her own TH-cam channel Murata Tamu (by June 2022 it gained close to 65 millions views). That same year, she joined all girls rock band SORAMIMI. She graduate from university in 2015, the same year she was awarded as the best female drummer in the voting project My Goddess 2015 by BEEAST - Living with Rock, Lifestyle Support Magazine. She is still an active staff member of INSPION Inc. until now (2022). In May 2017, she held a second live solo concert at TSUTAYA O-West and invited Japan's infamous drummer, Nyango Star as her guest. Mayu Session band performed at live venue and they hits off immediately eventhough its the first time they played together on stage and some members didn't know each other before. After that one session ended they decided to stay together and make their quintet permanent, which is now known as NEMOPHILA. In September 2019, she announced in her social media "I became a drummer of NEMOPHILA. Thanking you in advance. I'm glad I met some nice friends and I'll hit them with my soul." ...and she did hit them hard as the band grew tighter every day, in line with the growth of their local and international fan base. In October 2019, Tamu signed another endorsement contract with MEINL cymbals. SAKI, the composer for Mary's Blood said that she and the composer team write songs for NEMOPHILA and pass the midi to other members for input but Tamu, being the most experienced member of the band write the drums notations by herself. Entering 2020, NEMOPHILA announced Japan tour schedule for that year but eventually cancelled due to the pandemic. They managed to perform one show in February 2020 at Shibuya REX not featuring all band members because Tamu was on maternity leave. Tamu had always been called up to fill in for drummers' absence but in her absence, NEMOPHILA called-in the legendary drummer Miki 'mittan' Tsunoda of SHOW-YA (one of the best-selling Japanese metal bands in history) who was more than happy to make an appearance that day covering for Tamu. While in lockdown, mittan also seen paying respect to Tamu during her time-off giving birth. Mittan appeared in NEMOPHILA line ups again supporting them covering two SHOW-YA songs, taking the drummer's place while honouring Tamu by wearing the frog t-shirt which is Tamu's trademark shirt. Another legendary drummer did the same was Kyoko Tomita of Princess Princess (all-female rock band, known for their 7th single 'Diamonds' - first ever single in Japan that hits over millions sales) while NEMOPHILA did their cover song. A respect from legendary Japanese drummers really shows how massive Tamu's reputation is in drummers community. She played in Roland/BOSS Players Summit 2020 to wrap up Roland's Junior Drums Competition in which she was one of the judges that time. In 2021, she took part in NAONのYAON as NEMOPHILA drummer. Gacharic Spin also took part in that event but their drummer Yuri was on maternity leave. Levin, the drummer of La'cryma Christi was covering Yuri's place that time but since NAONのYAON is dedicated to only female artists, Levin was not permitted to play. Therefore, Tamu filled in for Yuri and was seen reading the music sheets for the entire performance. That was not the first time Tamu supporting Gacharic Spin. Back in 2018 during Gacharic Spin tour, Tomo-zo (guitar) was hospitalized due to an accident so Hana (drums & vocal that time, now Hana is guitar & vocal) took over Tomo-zo's role and Tamu was called in to cover for Hana's seat. Gacharic Spin could pick any session guitarist to cover for Tomo-zo but it seemed they prefer Tamu to stepped in for Hana who was covering for Tomo-zo. That again shows how reliable Tamu's drumming skills is and how thoughtful she is for answering emergency request in such short notice. She is a humble and lovely person who always look after the band members as her own little sisters especially her rhythmic partner Haraguchi-san. However in an interview after the January 2022 show, Haraguchi-san said she looked up to Tamu as a mother figure, and Tamu amusingly accepted her role being a mother of NEMOPHILA. She is a mother of two daughters and the band members always looking up to her as their senior. Mayu during the announcement of her marriage in live streaming addressed Tamu as Mama Senpai. Nemophila is amazing and hottest band right now out of Japan IMO. Released first album back in December and their you tube channel is loaded with all their songs and many covers which they sound great on all of them. They are making their first USA appearance July 1 at the WHISKY A GO GO in LA and will be at Aftershock festival in October. These ladies are very talented musicians and Mayu the lead singer has a very cool and unique voice. It is perfect for Rock and Metal. I'm sure you will enjoy other songs of theirs like Dissension, Revive, Hypnosis. Oiran Live (NAONのYAON2021) is one of my favorite live ones from them. They have many more songs than those too.You have discovered an amazing an upcoming band here. I'm sure you will enjoy them very much.
One of the best bands in the world right now. try their very first music video RAITEI then their second, DISSENSION. They also did covers for their fans during COVID and they are pretty good as well. Try their Japanese band covers as they will introduce you to some classic Japanese metal/rock bands. They also do bands like Iron Maiden as well.

Drummer Tamu and guitarist Saki(no ponytail)are very well known. Everything they do is golden. Don't expect metalcore every time though. You have to watch Oiran live at Naon Yaon. It's killer!! Your pronunciation of the band name is fine. For “Adabana”, all the a’s have the “ah” sound in Japanese as in saying “aha” versus the short “a” sound you use. You can hear Mayu sing it fairly clearly at 3:07 and at 5:42. Though still pretty close. Nice reaction!

While Nemophila are my favorite band in this niche (All-female J-metal & hard rock) and in fact my favorite band anywhere these days, there is a rich vein to be mined: Bridear, Ark Royal, Doll$Boxx, Hagane, Band-Maid, Pinkish Crown, Paradoxx, Aldious, Lonesome Blue, Moth in Lilac, Fate Gear, and the legendary Show-Ya...as well as some sadly inactive bands like TELECiDE, Galmet, Orochi/RagDollz, Mary's Blood. Some great co-ed bands, too: Unlucky Morpheus, The SheGlapes, Whiskey Dust, Saiseiga, and more. Heavy music is at its best in Japan right now.
You should check out The Warning! 3 sisters from Mexico, just released their new album last friday. i highly recommend live studio versions of Evolve, Animosity, or Choke. THEY ROCK!!🤘🤘
If this is music you like, then you better fasten your seatbelts, because it feels like Nemophila have fired up the engines of a rocket that could propel them to the top of the genre in no time. :) These ladies are phenomenal. Each one of them highly talented and creative, with tons of energy and most importantly, they have fun doing what they do, which is especially evident in their live performances. I just say 'Oiran (NaonのYaon2021)'. :) Oh, and it's not just 2 all-female bands doing the rounds from Japan at the moment. Quite often there is talk of a holy trinity, completed by another group called 'Band-Maid'. While Lovebites and Nemophila are more responsible for the heavier stuff, the roots of Band-Maid are more anchored in the classic hard rock area. However, Nemophila and Band-Maid are so versatile that the boundaries tend to overlap a bit from time to time. At least when it comes to the instrumental part. Of course Lovebites is not an only Japanese metal female band. I can name at least 10-15. But NEMOPHILA is my personal #1. And it's 5 heads above Lovebites I wouldn't ever compare them.
and if you didnt know Saki the guitarist doing one half of the solo in all blue is one of the best guitarist in the world and hazuki and the bass player is in the top 5 in japan and the drummer Tamu and singer Mayu is always ranked near the top in japan at their respective fields please let me know what you think

While Nemophila are my favorite band in this niche (All-female J-metal & hard rock) and in fact my favorite band anywhere these days, there is a rich vein to be mined: Bridear, Ark Royal, Doll$Boxx, Hagane, Band-Maid, Pinkish Crown, Paradoxx, Aldious, Lonesome Blue, Moth in Lilac, Fate Gear, and the legendary Show-Ya...as well as some sadly inactive bands like TELECiDE, Galmet, Orochi/RagDollz, Mary's Blood. Some great co-ed bands, too: Unlucky Morpheus, The SheGlapes, Whiskey Dust, Saiseiga, and more. Heavy music is at its best in Japan right now.
You should check out The Warning! 3 sisters from Mexico, just released their new album last friday. i highly recommend live studio versions of Evolve, Animosity, or Choke. THEY ROCK!!🤘🤘
If this is music you like, then you better fasten your seatbelts, because it feels like Nemophila have fired up the engines of a rocket that could propel them to the top of the genre in no time. :)
These ladies are phenomenal. Each one of them highly talented and creative, with tons of energy and most importantly, they have fun doing what they do, which is especially evident in their live performances. I just say 'Oiran (NaonのYaon2021)'. :)
Oh, and it's not just 2 all-female bands doing the rounds from Japan at the moment. Quite often there is talk of a holy trinity, completed by another group called 'Band-Maid'. While Lovebites and Nemophila are more responsible for the heavier stuff, the roots of Band-Maid are more anchored in the classic hard rock area. However, Nemophila and Band-Maid are so versatile that the boundaries tend to overlap a bit from time to time. At least when it comes to the instrumental part. As far as their singers' voices are concerned, the two couldn't be more different. :)

Of course Lovebites is not an only Japanese metal female band. I can name at least 10-15. But NEMOPHILA is my personal #1. And it's 5 heads above Lovebites I wouldn't ever compare them.

and if you didnt know Saki the guitarist doing one half of the solo in all blue is one of the best guitarist in the world and hazuki and the bass player is in the top 5 in japan and the drummer Tamu and singer Mayu is always ranked near the top in japan at their respective fields please let me know what you think
