Enjoying watching your progress in #R2AK this year! Wishing you fair winds, calm seas and a path through the logs… A few last tweaks, and another SRC will be heading out into Welsh & Cornish waters…
@@vipermadman Good to see you get to Bella Bella! Hope you have (had?) an enjoyable anniversary. Look forward to seeing videos of your further adventures - may have to post a few of my own sailing rowcruiser!
Loving the videos! My build is coming along nicely, Id send you photos but it doesn't seem like I can even private message you? Anyway, started thinking about the rudder and wondered how you raise and lower the rudder. Many small boats have a cord to pull on to raise the rudder and another to lower the rudder. Colin did'n accommodate for that, but said you can look on line for ways to do it... How are you managing raising and lowering the rudder? Cheers!
I just have a stainless bolt with a butterfly nut on it. Same as Colin. It’s a bit of a pain to reach back and lower and raise. But it’s nice when I hit kelp or a shallow area it just pops up and doesn’t break anything. I’ll post a video of the rudder tiller and tiller Pilot/ solar system in the next day or two. Good luck! Oh and I’ve seen a few photos on the internet of a guy in a white and grey Rowcruiser who rigged up a line/pulley system for the rowcrusier rudder.

It just gets better and better!
Thanks!
I’ve got a drop in row kit for my canoe’ Montpellier VT to Miami FL via Great Lakes this summer - if I see you on the water I’m waving you down!
Sounds good! Have a great trip.

@@vipermadman I too would be interested to see your solar setup - that’s another planned project…
Should have gotten an earlier start
