Wonderful video, Emma. I’m several hours late watching this, but man was it worth the wait. I had a super long and stressful day today, so this was just what I needed to help me calm down before going to bed. Everything sounded wonderful in this. I first discovered ASMR through you in 2016. I have not found another channel that is quite as effective as this one. I have not checked in in quite a while, because life got vet busy, but I was feeling nostalgic today and needed something comforting. 💜 Hello my lovely sweet Emma 💜 I hope you’re doing well. This is sure needed today. My body’s hurting a lot today, probably because we’ve got crappy weather coming for tomorrow. However, I’ve been kinda excited over the past few days, I may be seeing one of my best friends in a couple days, whom I haven’t seen in a few years. I have just brought the introvert power after listening to the extract you read, im sure those few lines where wrote about myself 😄 Each night when I arrive at work im greeted by the usual "hi, how are you?".... the words that come out are "I'm good thanks" my mind screaming please just reply with "good" and walk away, dont hang around for a conversation because im already getting hot a flustered ☺️

This was such an eyeopener for me as a self confessed "extreme talker!"... hope i'm not an exhauster. Especially around my introverted friend who is very shy - she's told me I'm her "emotional support extrovert" who gets us into conversations with people when we're out and about together. I do need to make sure im not interrupting her thoughts though for fear of her being shy - I should just let her say whatever she wants in her own time (and only hop in if she gives me the HELP ME look 🤣)

If someone would ask what was my first 2023 book, I would say a special kind of audiobook 😊
I almost died from the toxic black mold that grows on damp walls. Phoenix is very arid and I had not been exposed to mold, When I moved to Sedona we were by a creek and flooding was a constant event. I started to get sick and pass out. I love the reading about mushrooms and when you said medicinal mushrooms. I saw the yen yang of nature. Interesting.
When you were reading from the silence book it reminded of a couple of sayings one was if I’ve got a foot in yesterday and a foot in tomorrow I’m pissing all over today the other is yesterdays history tomorrow’s a mystery and today is a gift that’s why they call it the present. And I totally get what you mean by feeling like every one talks over you. That happens to me all the time.

Regarding that one book about 30 minutes in... People talk over me all the time, and I HATE it. The worst part is that they don't even ask me to continue afterward. Like I get it that we all get excited and interject, but if I do that I ALWAYS end with an apology and an "anyway, you were saying..." The people who talk over me, on the other hand, just ram in and forget I'd spoken at all, or I suppose assume that I'd been done, *even though I was still speaking when they butt in.*
It's gotten to the point where I try not to take breaths, so I can get the full idea out before they decide to interrupt me, and that makes me so incredibly anxious. If they do it anyway, I tend to shut down in anger and just let them go on without response, since they like the sound of their voices so much.
All this to say: if any of you find yourself frequently interrupting, PLEASE remember to ask the other person to finish their thought afterward. We're all wired differently, I realize, but MAN it's rude to constantly talk over someone. I've gotten to the point where I wonder if I'm just that boring, that people would rather shut me up than let me finish my thought.
