somebody actually did try to buy a dress off of me while i was wearing it. i was at the mall in full lolita with a normie friend who left me alone in forever 21 so she could go use the nearest bathroom. this was a few years ago and i was wearing the blue magical cosmetics op from bodyline, i think you actually used to own the same dress, i remember seeing it in one of your shit lolitas say videos, it was one of my first lolita dresses and although i have mostly graduated to AP, i kept the magical cosmetics dress because i still love the print and it was one of my first actual lolita pieces) this family (mother, father, and daughter who was probably 13 or 14) came running up to me asking if their daughter could take a photo with me. i started to say no because i’m quite shy and i don’t love the idea of photos of me going up on random peoples’ social medias or into their photo albums forever and such, especially if they thought i was in a costume and wanted to make fun of me later, but the mother was like “please, my daughter LOVES lolita” so i changed my mind because i was so pleasantly shocked that they actually knew what i was wearing and didn’t just think i was little bo peep or something. after the photo, the father and daughter started walking away and the mother pulled me aside and asked if she bought me something from the forever 21 we were standing in to wear home that night if i would sell her the dress i was wearing so she could give it to her daughter for her birthday in a few weeks. i told her i couldnt part with the dress, but that i could give her the website that it was from originally. i told her a little bit about bodyline and that the dresses were pretty cheap compared to many other lolita brands (i know some people don’t consider bodyline a brand) so it might be a good idea to get her daughter a different dress from bodyline that was only $25-$50 just in case she grows out of it or loses interest in it because she was only a kid so her hobbies could change. the mom was very thankful for the advice and not pushy about me giving her mine like the lady that was bothering you for yours, which was nice. i hope that little girl got her dress and that she wears lolita now!
My dream dress was Angelic Pretty's Lady Christine OP in black and after 4 years of searching, I finally found it and actually just finished paying it off yesterday! It's going to be my first brand piece and my second lolita dress ever. It's also the dress that really got me into lolita in the first place so it means quite a lot to me!
But Lor I think those are chipmunks not squirrels I mean I don't own Little Bears Cafe but those lil buddies have stripes on them, and the common American squirrel is just like.... Gray. Chipmunks are that nice brown with stripes and the white belly.
Depends on which squirrels you are talking about some do have stripes (Indian Palm squirrel for instance) but I do agree the rodent featured is probably a Siberian chipmunk (native to the hokkiado region of Japan)

I have adored the Sugar Hearts op in the white color way since I was introduced to the fashion. I have this obsession with candy hearts and anything that looks like a candy heart. The whole month of February is like wonderland for me because of it. If it’s pink, strawberry flavored or looks like a candy heart I’m freakin sold. A often unheard positive spin on the month of Valentine’s Day. Lol. I had discovered the dress when I was just getting into Lolita. I only owned a couple bodyline dresses at the time and had discovered lolibrary. I was sticking key words of things that I liked or found cute into the search bar to get a better idea of brand styles, prints, and my own personal taste. Cats, lots there. Roses, enter my first dress that wasn’t bodyline. Candy hearts. I remember typing it in to the search thinking it was oddly specific and there couldn’t possibly be a dress with candy hearts could there? Instant love. I’ve been looking for it for a year and a half now to no avail. I’ve seen the jsk’s, skirts, heabows, and even the purses a couple of times. Not once have I seen the op in white. It’s definitely become a dream dress for me. I have about a billion coord ideas for it. I’ve spent some time daydreaming about it. One day though I’ll find it.
Rozenwolk fortune has it i’m a short girl but Thankyou for telling me! I wasn’t aware it was short. I’ve considered the jsk a couple times but truth be told I’m just in love with the op cut. The op’s cut looks great on me and I only have one dress cut like it because I have a love affair with high waisted cuts like sweetie violet. And the way the skirt falls is one of the details i adore about it. It looks like it’s so airy and cloud like, I love it. There’s not a detail about the op I don’t love and I just feel like the white color way is so versatile as far as coording it goes. So i keep holding out for it. It’ll be worth the long wait someday.

I have 4 Lolita dresses one is handmade , the other is off brand ( amazon and I altered it a bit) , then I have a body line dress and i lastly found a metamorphose dress at good will for $20 and it fit me which made me very happy!

The OP in sax blue is preferred, but I'd be happy with any color! While this dress is obtainable on secondhand markets, It is not a good size fit. I think your twinkle mermaid is the sample piece from the advertisement. I have the twinkle mermaid op in pink that was the standard release and then also have one in pink that has some similarities to yours (print is higher on the border, some of the lace/trim is sheer pleated fabric instead of the white lace used, larger pearls, more rhinestones and sequins) but when I bought mine on auction the seller listed it as the runway version.

The Twinkle Mermaid you have is really interesting! I have the OP in pink and it doesn't the little deco details throughout the dress or even the jewels on the bow (however that could just be because they were removed or lost). I've seen a few other old AP dresses with similar deco details like the original Toy Parade as well (there were rainbow jewels on them)!

Omg! Several years ago I saw you at San Diego Comic Con wearing Honey Cake!! I was in cosplay and too shy to say hello but let me tell you your coord was just radiant. Like for real you were GLOWING gold on the con floor. Honey Cake is my 110% dream Sweet Lolita dress.
I think your twinkle mermaid is the sample piece from the advertisement. I have the twinkle mermaid op in pink that was the standard release and then also have one in pink that has some similarities to yours (print is higher on the border, some of the lace/trim is sheer pleated fabric instead of the white lace used, larger pearls, more rhinestones and sequins) but when I bought mine on auction the seller listed it as the runway version.

Hey Lor, my dream dress is AP's Chess Emblem OP in wine and white, has been for five or so years. I just obtained it about a week ago and I don't think I've ever had a garment make me SO happy before, it's really crazy! Haha. So right now I don't have another dream dress yet. I figured I should obtain the accessories and other pieces to put together a coord first.
The Twinkle Mermaid you have is really interesting! I have the OP in pink and it doesn't the little deco details throughout the dress or even the jewels on the bow (however that could just be because they were removed or lost). I've seen a few other old AP dresses with similar deco details like the original Toy Parade as well (there were rainbow jewels on them)!

My dream dress: Angelic Pretty’s Holy Lantern OP in White. I cried the first time I saw a picture of it and I hate that I’m so tall that I can’t fit most brands without it being shorter than mid thigh 😫

I have been in the fashion for 10 years as well and, like you, my wardrobe isn't that big (around 25 dresses ) while I'm buying a dress like every 2 months. I also prefer practical dresses I can wear daily ( except for work ) and feel comfortable in. I don't have dream dresses anymore because the fews that I bought were hideous on me.
But I want to buy the same Aatp print that you show ( called Beauty and the rose promise) but I would prefer the beige OP version ( not sure to fit in either )

The dress that got me into lolita was the Saint Claire OP by Mary Magdalene, and I think I will always have to consider that my true dream dress because I dreamed about it for so long (10 years?). But recently I've become much less interested in classic and more into sweet, so that dress isn't at the top of my wishlist any more. But I still hope to buy it someday, in honour of my 16-year-old self who never, ever in a million years would have thought that I could ever own brand dresses. (My sweet dream dress is AP's Fancy Hospital JSK and I have it and I love it!)

I don't have any Lolita stuff yet; I was into the fashion a few years ago (admiring from afar) and then out of no where, TH-cam recommended Lolita videos to me, so it reignited my love for the fashion and decided that my dream dress is Holy Lantern OP in the navy/dark blue color way. its been difficult finding it in navy second had, and I'm plus size that requires at least 100cm for the bust, so I think im pretty much SOL

Lol, that squirrel story! 😄 I used to wear cute old-fashioned aprons to my job at a bookstore. I had one lady offer to buy the one I was wearing, so I sold it to her on the spot.. I needed the money but I felt kind of degraded for doing it, though 😣
my dream dress, as cliche as it is, is Honey Cake in the yellow. it was the first lolita dress I ever saw and really got me into the fashion. I'm hoping for a rerelease someday or at least someone who is willing to sell theirs 😅 here's hoping!
