So there's an ethnic group of people in Western China called Uyghur most of whom are Muslim who have been systematically put into forced labor camps (which the Chinese government denies, but we have evidence of that) and they are forced to work in fields and most of them grow cotton. When this came out a lot of foreign buyers asked tao bao brands whether they used that cotton and Souffle Song specifically said they support the use of Xinjiang cotton that was effectively grown by slave labor. If you're interested in more about what's happening to the Uyghurs in China I suggest looking them up
Actually, after about 7-8 years of following and lurking in the lolita and ouji fashion communities (and you, of course!), I have finally bought my first main piece! This year I wanna do a reverse and actually get less dresses. What i mean is specifically writing hard to obtain pieces that I really really want and not just buy things impulsively. This can also help me cater to my personal style more accurately. i noticed that i now struggle with coording the pieces that i impulsively purchased. @@AlexisSirena basically back in late 2020/early 2021 information about cotton grown in a part of China called Xinjiang came to light. They produce about 1/5th of the worlds cotton. There is pretty damning evidence that many 100s of thousands of people in that area are forced into slave labor to pick the cotton. Obviously there is probably many brands that use this cotton that we don't even know about however when this whole thing blew up Soufflesong/Neverland (same company) made a statement about how they are so proud to produce products made of their cotton and that they should be supported for using the cotton. Leaving quite a sour taste in western lolita's mouths about the brand. Stating how you are proud of your slave labored raw materials, personally I could never support that.
My lolita goals for the coming year are as follows: 1) Either get more comfortable wearing wigs or find better ways to do my hair--I'm okay with it being either one, I'm just not happy with how my hair has been looking and I don't like it with coords. 2) Get my first brand piece, preferably an old school Meta piece. 3) Personally, I'd like to become more creative with incorporating lolita into my daily style and incorporating my personal style into lolita. I know some people have mixed feelings about whether you're "supposed" to do that, but I'm gonna. 4) Get my first pair of rocking horse shoes. 5) Attend at least a couple meetups (they all happen at least 2 to 5 hours away from where I live so it can be a little hard). 7) Get more bloomers (different lengths/colors). 8) Get a tea-length petticoat and a short, low-poof petticoat for different dresses/looks. 9) Red tartan. 10) Repair all the pieces in my wardrobe (lolita and otherwise) that need repair that I've been putting off.
Happy New Year! I got sick with the same thing in December of 2021 and a out-of-season tornado hit my area at the same time. Knocked the power out at my house for four days. Getting hit with that coupled with a natural disater was something else. That sucks that you got sick, but I hope you are feeling better now. This past year has been really rough for me, but I'm hoping the next one will be better. One of my goals this year is to finally take the leap and actually wear lolita. I've done one attempt many years ago, but I've been mostly orbitting the fashion for over a decade.

Yup, it's probably Souffle Song - if my understanding of that situation is correct it was found out they and some other Taobao brands were using unethically sourced cotton. I was wondering what had happened to Lor's review video when I went to rewatch it a couple months ago but figured it not being available had something to do with that

Poor out-of-breath Lor. I, too, got the HOPPITS in 2022, ironically after leaving my job in retail where I was exposed to the public on a near-daily basis. Sadly, I haven't been able to purchase any Lolita pieces since 2021. But when I can, my focus will be on staple pieces like blouses and shoes so I can have more variety in coordinating the few dress I own.
This year I desperately need to get new shoes and petticoat. My mom, positive vibes to her, made my first one. It was lovely, but I've had it since middle school so now it's flatter than a pancake. What I'm debating on getting is old-school-style main pieces in black, pink, and maybe sax blue because they're more casual, versatile, and generally paired with minimal accessories, which would be good for college. If anyone has any recommendations as to where I could get JSKs of that sort, that would be appreciated.
I lean towards classic. I've mostly been focusing on accessories, but I do have some dresses I'm on the look out for, of course. I wanted to get an ita bag in a design I liked, a few more shoes, jewelry, brooches, rosettes. I'm trying to keep myself away from buying more dresses unless I really, really like the print.

comfort is such a big thing for me as well haha- im trying to update my lolita neocities with all my new wardrobe pieces/a new wishlist, but in terms of the fashion itself, i'm eternally on the hunt for better legwear. It is, unfortunately a bit tricky finding more gothic-themed legwear at larger sizes (yidhra is SO close but some of their tights are just slightly too small on me) so I'm at a point where i'm thinking of getting some lace and just following some diy guides for socks
I recommend checking out Snag Tights for plus size tights, including gothic themed tights, like their Halloween and skull print tights. I haven't personally tried them out yet, but I have heard good reviews. Also, I like Sock Dreams for plus size socks and tights (I have bought from them repeatedly), but more of their gothic tights and socks can be more often found in the fall/Halloween season. 😸
I’ve been following lolita for over ten years and just started collecting pieces this year. I got a bunch of basics, shoes, three dresses, a petticoat, blouses, but I haven’t worn a complete coord yet. I do have everything to put one together though. I am just figuring out what I want my next move to be. I bought a lot all at once so I want to take a break from spending on lolita. I have been keeping an eye out for pieces on the secondhand market though, specifically there is a unicorn print from meta I like to look for even though I’m not ready to buy it yet. I love metas plus size options!
I'm working hard on diys for coords- I'm planning on dyeing one of my dresses, I've got a neck ruff in the works for a clown coord, things like that are what I'm really focused on this year!

I mainly go for sweet but i'm not trying to limit myself. My lolita wardrobe reflects my regular wardrobe - there's some burgundy, some black, & plenty of pastels.

i stumbled on your channel a few weeks ago while looking for border print fabric recomendations and lolita fashion uses those so much that most of the results were lolita related. i mostly do history bounding of 1890 to 1900 and cottagecore. i started sewing my own clothes and one day i want to make a few lolita pieces to mix into my wardrobe 😁✨ my goal wardrobe is a mix of steampunk (focusing on 1890-1900), witch and happy go lucky cottagecore/goblincore girl? chaos but my flavour of chaos and i think parts of the lolita aesthetic could help me get there, like the trims and lace mixed with the belle epoque silluette and the earthy nature colours of the cottage/goblincore ?

I'm broke with a capital B because of the energy crisis so I don't have money to spend right now but if I did I would buy more shoes. Gov has put a cap on energy prices starting this month so it will be easier to save for hobby related expenses. I've really had to control myself with what pieces I buy. I have 1 dress and 3 jsks, and a handful of blouses, but I know I'm going to have to alter them all once I get top surgery, and I'm trying not to get anything else until afterwards so it'll just arrive fitting correctly. I totally could have had a full closet by now, but insurance is dragging their feet 😒
hahaha it's on a pretty big stand! and because I didn't have my new laptop yet, I had to have it plugged into my PC so I didnt want to move the whole stand and PC computer into my basement but now I wish I had waaahhh but atleast now I was able to get my new laptop so it'll be easier to film in different locations
Those Violet Fane dresses are definitely gothic 100%. Just because it's vintage themed, does that mean it's not gothic? No. I actually think a lot of what is gothic is vintage/antique. I mean if you look at gothic origin like in the old architecture not much can be more "vintage" then that. And antique dolls, oh man yes! Especially dismembered ones. lol Also gothic has a lot more colors than just black and dark red is so perfect.👌 Just like in classic styles, gothic can have many sub-styles of it's own if you want to sit around categorizing them.
It just has one petticoat. Tbh, the petti doesn’t work for all the dresses it was just the closest one I had haha I didn’t feel well enough to unpack my other ones

You dont have to have bangs for lolita fashion but if you want to and are worried about the sudden change just know that they might be a little bit of maintenance for some hair types I had bangs from since I was a baby to when I was around your age and never felt they were hard to manage, but redoing them as an adult after spending years not having them I notice that my bangs hair get greasier and unkempt faster Using a little bit of dry shampoo every now and then helped a lot
I'm not, Devil Inspired doesn't make clothing. They're a reseller in place of using a shopping service, they buy clothes from other brands that aren't normally sold overseas and then sell them with a mark up in order to make a profit for their business.

the audio in this one sounds very strange and has something on the high-end that you may not be hearing either because of the illness or your headphones or both. i can't really think of how to describe it but it sounds like something on the high frequency range is clipping but the rest isn't? hopefully this helps with your audio mixing for future videos. I also noticed a lot of inhale on the audio in the basement clips, not sure why that got picked up by the mic so loudly. I think there may be a way to edit that out with a filter or you may just have to do more manual editing to cut it down.
i missed out on christmas/winter coords mainly due to either work or the passing of one of my best friends. the timing was horrible because as im deeply mourning this really painful loss i have a bunch of lolita packages arriving😭
The puplet maker dress to me seams goth (pun not intended but I'm leaving it). Im not lolita but I am a full blown goth and all my goth friends love vintage mocob dolls (myself included, I plan on getting a doll leg tattoo). However, I dont know if that's just me and the friends I've made.
I ordered from them several times over the years. It did happen once or twice that I placed an order and one of the items was not available anymore, so they offered to choose something else or do a partial refund. Other than that, I never really had any issues, and even then, the communication was always quick and polite. Like with any reseller, the quality of the items themselves depends on the brand, not the reseller. And shipping might take a while, considering they probably don't always ship from their own warehouse. I did also use the seller as a shopping service for some Taobao items that was not on their site, i.e. I just wrote them an email with my request. Overall, I'd recommend them, but you should be prepared to be patient, so last minute purchases for a certain event might not work out.

It seems the cotton they use is from slave labor. Also they sell NFTs (?) and I have heard their quality isn't that good anyway.

Sadly, I haven't been able to purchase any Lolita pieces since 2021. But when I can, my focus will be on staple pieces like blouses and shoes so I can have more variety in coordinating the few dress I own.

This year I desperately need to get new shoes and petticoat. My mom, positive vibes to her, made my first one. It was lovely, but I've had it since middle school so now it's flatter than a pancake. What I'm debating on getting is old-school-style main pieces in black, pink, and maybe sax blue because they're more casual, versatile, and generally paired with minimal accessories, which would be good for college. If anyone has any recommendations as to where I could get JSKs of that sort, that would be appreciated.
I lean towards classic. I've mostly been focusing on accessories, but I do have some dresses I'm on the look out for, of course. I wanted to get an ita bag in a design I liked, a few more shoes, jewelry, brooches, rosettes. I'm trying to keep myself away from buying more dresses unless I really, really like the print.

I all ready have 2 dresses and 2 dresses I could style in a Lolita way but still a couple more dresses I would love to get. Im still working on getting black velvet dress and a long black dress.
comfort is such a big thing for me as well haha- im trying to update my lolita neocities with all my new wardrobe pieces/a new wishlist, but in terms of the fashion itself, i'm eternally on the hunt for better legwear. It is, unfortunately a bit tricky finding more gothic-themed legwear at larger sizes (yidhra is SO close but some of their tights are just slightly too small on me) so I'm at a point where i'm thinking of getting some lace and just following some diy guides for socks
I recommend checking out Snag Tights for plus size tights, including gothic themed tights, like their Halloween and skull print tights. I haven't personally tried them out yet, but I have heard good reviews. Also, I like Sock Dreams for plus size socks and tights (I have bought from them repeatedly), but more of their gothic tights and socks can be more often found in the fall/Halloween season. 😸
I really want to focus on getting more accessory colors into my wardrobe this year. I also need to finish rounding out my shoe colors!
I’ve been following lolita for over ten years and just started collecting pieces this year. I got a bunch of basics, shoes, three dresses, a petticoat, blouses, but I haven’t worn a complete coord yet. I do have everything to put one together though. I am just figuring out what I want my next move to be. I bought a lot all at once so I want to take a break from spending on lolita. I have been keeping an eye out for pieces on the secondhand market though, specifically there is a unicorn print from meta I like to look for even though I’m not ready to buy it yet. I love metas plus size options!

i mostly do history bounding of 1890 to 1900 and cottagecore.
i started sewing my own clothes and one day i want to make a few lolita pieces to mix into my wardrobe 😁✨
my goal wardrobe is a mix of steampunk (focusing on 1890-1900), witch and happy go lucky cottagecore/goblincore girl? chaos but my flavour of chaos and i think parts of the lolita aesthetic could help me get there, like the trims and lace mixed with the belle epoque silluette and the earthy nature colours of the cottage/goblincore ?

I'm working on my old school wardrobe (only have a few things that aren't old school). I'm broke with a capital B because of the energy crisis so I don't have money to spend right now but if I did I would buy more shoes. Gov has put a cap on energy prices starting this month so it will be easier to save for hobby related expenses. Somewhere this year I want to buy a new serger but the one I want is around 850eu so that's still a big blow to the wallet.

I've really had to control myself with what pieces I buy. I have 1 dress and 3 jsks, and a handful of blouses, but I know I'm going to have to alter them all once I get top surgery, and I'm trying not to get anything else until afterwards so it'll just arrive fitting correctly. I totally could have had a full closet by now, but insurance is dragging their feet 😒

hahaha it's on a pretty big stand! and because I didn't have my new laptop yet, I had to have it plugged into my PC so I didnt want to move the whole stand and PC computer into my basement but now I wish I had waaahhh but atleast now I was able to get my new laptop so it'll be easier to film in different locations

Those Violet Fane dresses are definitely gothic 100%. Just because it's vintage themed, does that mean it's not gothic? No. I actually think a lot of what is gothic is vintage/antique. I mean if you look at gothic origin like in the old architecture not much can be more "vintage" then that. And antique dolls, oh man yes! Especially dismembered ones. lol Also gothic has a lot more colors than just black and dark red is so perfect.👌 Just like in classic styles, gothic can have many sub-styles of it's own if you want to sit around categorizing them.

You dont have to have bangs for lolita fashion but if you want to and are worried about the sudden change just know that they might be a little bit of maintenance for some hair types
I had bangs from since I was a baby to when I was around your age and never felt they were hard to manage, but redoing them as an adult after spending years not having them I notice that my bangs hair get greasier and unkempt faster
Using a little bit of dry shampoo every now and then helped a lot

I'm not, Devil Inspired doesn't make clothing. They're a reseller in place of using a shopping service, they buy clothes from other brands that aren't normally sold overseas and then sell them with a mark up in order to make a profit for their business.

the audio in this one sounds very strange and has something on the high-end that you may not be hearing either because of the illness or your headphones or both. i can't really think of how to describe it but it sounds like something on the high frequency range is clipping but the rest isn't? hopefully this helps with your audio mixing for future videos. I also noticed a lot of inhale on the audio in the basement clips, not sure why that got picked up by the mic so loudly. I think there may be a way to edit that out with a filter or you may just have to do more manual editing to cut it down.

The puplet maker dress to me seams goth (pun not intended but I'm leaving it). Im not lolita but I am a full blown goth and all my goth friends love vintage mocob dolls (myself included, I plan on getting a doll leg tattoo). However, I dont know if that's just me and the friends I've made.

I ordered from them several times over the years. It did happen once or twice that I placed an order and one of the items was not available anymore, so they offered to choose something else or do a partial refund. Other than that, I never really had any issues, and even then, the communication was always quick and polite. Like with any reseller, the quality of the items themselves depends on the brand, not the reseller. And shipping might take a while, considering they probably don't always ship from their own warehouse. I did also use the seller as a shopping service for some Taobao items that was not on their site, i.e. I just wrote them an email with my request. Overall, I'd recommend them, but you should be prepared to be patient, so last minute purchases for a certain event might not work out.
