Yea no worries! I think they have some solid stuff, I actually like Muji better. Very similar but the fits/silhouettes are more what I'm accustom to and the quality is better. I think Uniqlo has some good stuff here and there but in my experience influences hype it up way too much!
SSENSE, Mr. Porter, and Mytheresa Mens will often have sales on common projects. I picked my white ones from mytheresa for $250 a couple years back.

The Elwood core tees are 🔥 I usually wear a large in t shirts but the oversized medium fit soooo good.

I feel like medium has been fitting me a lot better for certain brands!! I threw those Af crop tees in the dyer and they still fit great 😃
Yeah medium and sizes in general are very different for brands across the board. Also, I found myself going for bigger tees in the summer time but then going to small tees in the winter to use more as an under layer when wearing a sweater or shirt jacket. If you’re not as versatile, then getting multiple sizes might not matter for you.
