It will take time and great awakening in order to uproot the tree of colonization from african soil.

    Bro, let’s rubbish that fact that some white people came and discovered some places in our African continent. How were they first to discover it when our ancestors already live there? Even though the place might be unoccupied due to their small population at the time, our ancestors did know and owned the so called discovered places. It’s time for us to challenge some of the history(lies) we’re told!!!

    • @adetorrent
      @adetorrent 4 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      Yeah that's a bit of a problem in the African educational system, which is still quite colonial even today.
      Obviously there were Africans living on the Island already, as they were in Cape Verde and other nearby islands. Just like there were Africans living all around River Niger, Lake "Victoria", Mount Kilimanjaro and so on.. but the textbooks will tell you Mongo Park discovered this, Cecil Rhodes discovered that. That was because nothing was *discovered* until known to a European. That was the mentality. Not just in Africa - see, apparently Christopher Columbus "discovered" America (which is a clearly moronic claim)
      There needs to be an overhaul of the *language* in the education system for sure.

How often do you see Indians , Chinese and Germans using someone else language apart from theirs in a global stage ? It’s only Africans felling proud using someone else language. Thank you sr! i am very impressed by your clairvoyance i belive in your version than what i was allways told. firstble, in english, one would say: (red God) and not (God red). Gore is a wolof word which is our national laanguage meaning= to have dignty / to be of dignity. as matter of fact, the seconde island on the other side of the city is called (ngor) which means dignity. We need to learn how to think out of the box because they've been falsfying the truth.

      May Allah bless the island and its inhabitants. In Holland we learn at school that the island is named after Goree, a former island in the south of Holland.They say the Dutch colonized the island in 1617. They bought it from a Lebu chief.

    Goree island was already occuped by the Lebu tribe ( fishermen ) long time before the portuguese arrived here.
    ////
    The Island of Goree is an exceptional testimony to one of the greatest tragedies in the history of human societies: the slave trade. The various elements of this “memory island” fortresses, buildings, streets, squares, etc. recount, each in its own way, the history of Gorée which, from the 15th to the 19th century, was the largest slave-trading centre of the African coast.
    The house of slaves was built by the dutch in 1776.
    ////
    I think you should go there to have more information about it because its an important part of African history.

    The sister talking with Wode Maya was beautiful and the whole of Senegal is just breathtaking and beautiful..... now my only complaint is that since goree Island was named by our colonizers then why keep the name if we want to be totally free from oppression we must give up these European names that was given to us by the ones who enslaved us, tortured us and sold us and also many people do not know this but Senegal along with many African nations has to pay taxes to France because of slavery ending and they have to make money off of Africans by any means
    so if we call ourselves free Africans then we must break ties with these evil Europeans 100% and not halfway.🤔

      Stop repeating that. It isn't true. The white man didn't create the bible. The bible is all about Africa. Our ancestors took God with them on the ship. They didn't learn of God from the white man. A bunch of fake deep hotep brothers spread these lies of ignorance, when u look at the facts, it's not true.

    • @royalstarr1

      Ambassador Siyyon agreed. Like everything else, the whites stole the bible and misinterpreted it for their evil agenda with their fake religion. We have to whats ours, the true connection with God, and leave the devil’s lies behind.
