Visual updates are Sidious, Boba, Yoda, Droideka, Jango and Nute
I think there are a few touchups of Qira and Young Han as well

I think it’s likely to happen now that we have an official pc port. I would cry from joy if they went a step further and did an entire graphics overhaul (characters, ships, arenas, animations, etc) and made the game look more AAA.

Boba looks awesome. Kind of weird having to look at the art a bit more now to tell which character is which. Will definitely take some getting usef to lol.
Same, it will take a bit for me to readjust to the look of these characters. I am so used to finding characters with their specific look after 9 years of playing.

The profile pics look good on a bigger screen, but on a smaller phone screen, I literally cannot tell the difference between most of them. They all look very similar and blend together. Not well optimized for phones
I appreciate that they are trying to make the game look fresher, but the new icons look similar. For example, the Beskar Mando and BH Mando look almost identical and they don't even have a new model. Also I think the new icons are from new characters that are released after Lord Vader
They should have made reworking the 3d models a priority over the icons. After all the primary purpose of the 2d icons is to be easily distinguishable, and for that realism isn't always the best way to go.
I also have the feeling that most of them were optimized for PC screens
It looks like AI to me, for a lot of the toons. Like they started with the GL’s, then had an AI update the rest based off the GL looks

They changed Boba Fett's animations and 3D model! He might be my favorite SWGOH character-design wise next to Bane

I think most of the icons look darker and lack less brighter colors now so its kind of hard to tell between some characters.

They are more similar than some rebel and geo ships.
Requirements look good. 1 relic away from GAS and Snips and ventress was already r5 so just missing nightrooper. First GL I’m seriously chasing after as soon as possible. I was going after JMk pretty quick but Ahsoka is now #1 on my priority list

I get the feeling that since Leia had such easy requirements for her GL event that Ahsoka is going to be more in line with JMLS in difficulty of requirements, especially if it’s going to take two Epic Confrontation characters to get her.
I also think that we will probably see a new version of Sabine before GL Ahsoka comes out who will be a requirement.
I’m surprised they haven‘t mentioned Shin Hati yet as it would be my first thought when thinking about Baylan requirements

This overhaul looks amazing for some (weird for others), don’t know how to feel. Also there’s a new Datacron set. Looks super OP. Refresh the Datacron Store to see, the Level 6 bonuses are to tags (Attacker, Healer, Tank, Support) instead of factions and a record 21 characters that benefit from a Level 9. they’re… wow
They look super interesting, I think they saw how popular sidious was and decided to run with that idea
Gonna need another video to go over everyone's favorite part.. DATACRONS!!!! lol. the new set is out and it's crazy. Lvl 6 is role specific instead of faction specific and SOOO MANY lvl 9 character possibilities. LLTE!!!
I think they're pulling a Darth Malak on us. They're going to drop GL Ahsoka and she'll be fine as far as GLs go in 2024, but then like a week later they'll release the requirements for GL Thrawn with 2 days warning and he'll be more unbeatable than Leia and have a datacron set literally on day 1.
Did they update GAS's name to actually be GAS now? Feel like for the longest time it was just General Skywalker, but the GLAT (not sure how I love that acronym lol) reqs have him as General Anakin Skywalker. Nice!
Edit to add : There's a handful of portraits that are **super** similar to other ones, which isn't great. GBA and Sun Fac, Fulcrum and CAT (that's a serious issue) both come to mind. I know they *just* updated them, but I'm hoping for some changes to those specifically to help differentiate characters at a glance again
I’d be actually sad if they renamed him general anakin skywalker. Because he was never called this. He was always general skywalker. So I guess for me seeing general anakin… it doesn’t sound right.
About the art: I wish CG would poach the 3D art team from MSF

There are a few more model updates. Boba got one, Droideka, Jango, Nute
I really don’t like the change to live action versions because its just so much harder to convey, I dont know if CG know this, but their game is animated, so animated versions of characters translate better.
Some of them look good, but look at CAT and Omega, two characters which were made for animation, their portraits look really bad. Ezra and Jolee have the same problem, they look nothing like what they actually looked like in their source material (and their in-game models). Hux and Canderous are hard to make out and both just look like random white guys on a tiny little screen. And Krennic and Finn *I think* were just pulled from their movies’ marketing material. They look way out of place.
Overall I think they did good with the art, just not a fan of the direction for animation-only characters and I just don’t think some of these were what I wanted.
This was so cool! Had a friend call me in excitement for us to look at it together!
for Shaak Ti, they change her picture to the live action version, but her model is the Clone Wars version.

"While in certain Raids:" is the clarifier for that omicron... Interesting verbiage. I'm not counting on it, but technically speaking that does open the door for them to reinstate old raid omicrons for future raids if they so choose.
I'm gonna whale on The Great Mothers and Morgan Elzbeth. I already have Ventress at r8, Talzin, Dakka, Zombie, Talia, Acolyte at r7, and Ghost & Initiate at r5.
I almost missed this, but in the in-game message announcing Baylan's Epic Confrontation, they mentioned a new tag being added to the game: Mercenary! Almost definitely going to be for Baylan and Shin, but could it be added to Bounty Hunters, too? Like the Dark Side equivalent of what Scoundrel is to many Smugglers, perhaps?
New art is cool, but updating everyone at once is a nightmare for people with visual disabilities like me.

Hey ahanald, love the content you make for this game and the massive amount of uploads recently with all this exciting news! I wanted to throw an idea out there for a video that I think could help a bunch of people. I just started on hard conquest this last cycle and I was wondering, once you get to that point is there a strategy that you need to have in order to progress to that gold and maybe red crate? Would it entail doing all the sector and global challenges mostly or just focusing on getting through conquest and doing a clean up. I know you sorta talk about it here and there but I think am overall conquest guide could be a helpful thing(even though I know they change every time). Thanks again for all that you do!

A little unrelated, but I could use some advice. If you have enough crystals for only one of the new characters, who do I spend them on? Night Trooper, or should I wait for captain Enoch?
Boba, jango, nute, dooku and qui gon all look great but a lot of the new character images look similar meaning it's a lot more difficult to tell characters apart at a glance.
I just jumped into the game read the news and was hyped to hear about an epic confrontation im definitely going to consider getting him through a long grind depending on how his req go

My guild started an endor raid a few days ago, but the game updated and it says it removed our mk3 even though we started the raid before the update. I hope this is an error and we didn’t just waste tickets
One thing I just noticed is that the Darth Revan 2D art is actually taken from the KOTOR remake trailer. The pose he does is the exact same from the trailer.

Went into Squad Arena post-update at 5:45 EST. With all for Gungans, no Jar Jar & a JKL in 5th slot; the shield generator still spawned 🤷♂️
Every character that was introduced before jmk and lv have been updated, the characters that came out after jmk and lv were introduced all had the updated style

There are some weird noise on some characters shards. For example Darth Revan have some black weird thing or Greef Karga.

I think all the thumbnails got updated for all characters that pre date the SK requirements. Those are the oldest characters I can find that didn't get an update. And obviously everything that came after them with the exception of GLs didn't receive updated thumbnails.
What’s the new cost for a marquee with the new marquee structure? I have crystals saved up for GL Ahsoka but I’m not sure how to budget them correctly
