Off topic: so I was experimenting with my REV7 (Salty Texas Ranger)and discovered how to use the LOOP function. I fell of the floor when I used a 16 count loop on Dua Lipa & Elton John’s “Cold Heart” and it seamlessly extended the song. I listened to it for a few minutes then tried a several other songs. The technology has advanced so much over the years. I know that sounds pretty “Boomer” of me but I used only CDs and no special FX. I did purchase a Numark iDJ2 in 2007 for like $200 just to see what had changed since I joined the Army in 97. It was kind of cool because it took the music directly from an external HHD or a single iPod Classic. I had seen other controllers online that used 2 iPods but 1 was a game changer. Anyway, the controller had Loops and a minor ability to scratch but not good enough to use in a show. It had a crate function which described it as back in the day DJs would bring their priority music to gigs in old milk crates. The function was cool but when you turned off the system it would delete your crate. ☹️. I DJed a graduation party for my step daughter, a birthday party for her friend and a wedding reception for a family friend. All of them were “friend” gigs and I not only put up my entire sound system but also my entire light show. Amazingly, everything still worked after sitting in my barn for years.
