"Many battles are losable, losing isn't unusual.
Life is brutal, but beautiful, birth allude to a funeral."
Almost a decade later is still one of the greatest lines I've ever heard.

Ali came with the aggression and energy, RA was sick with the multis and wordplay but Ace's verse just stood out to me. After all these years the guys is just a damn Legend. The way he strung together every word in that verse has such dope cadence and mic presence he didn't need to rap it fast or use a complex rhyme scheme hit it out of the park. It was just flat out dope but purely fundamental.

Since then it's been a non-stop dive into Hip-Hop and I still haven't heard a song that reaches me like this one does. For me this is the essence of the medium, three amazing MCs, each with their own style, just killing it in their own way. RA changed my musical life, I hope he never stops.

R.A. the Rugged Man, Brother Ali, and Masta Ace were all interviewed for the book named *HOW TO RAP* and its sequel, *HOW TO RAP 2*.
This is a quote from R.A. inside the books:
''I like doing that a lot too, writing to beats. When you’re trying
to do like an ill flow, you’re taking the bassline and the
drum and the kick and riding that beat like you never could
do just writing in your notebook. For flows, it’s me sitting in
my room with the radio, bumping beats all day, boom boom,
all week, all month, all year."

    this is SO cool.
I mean Ali's and Masta Ace's verses were pretty dope but RA nailed this one.
I'm listening rap for a few years now and it took me so long to find RA.. Found him a few weeks ago and can't stop listening to him.
He's a genius and I'd say one of the best rappers alive.

What the hell are you talking about? Ali acts like a gangster in his music. Constantly swears, is disrespectful to both women and gay people. Then he tries to act all religious. I've also met him. He acts like a thug when you talk to him, all hardcore and shit. The dude is one of the most hypocritical people on earth. Oh yeah, real religious man.

Yo, my man thx for the info i was just wondering where are those from. Ive noticed some other scenes not from D.O.A. like the one at 1:55 and 1:58 do you by any chance have an idea where are those from? It would mean a lot to me

      @aaronsakulich4889 10 ปีที่แล้ว

He Lf Those ones I don't know... I feel like I've seen them, but can't place them. I want to say it's the Great St. Louis Bank Robbery but that's not right. I think the clips from Masta Ace's part of the song are from "Suddenly" with Frank Sinatra. (Other than Sinatra the movie is terrible)

The later ones are also definitely Suddenly with Frank Sinatra. The only one I don't recognize is the high octane truck blowing up at 1:55

chris gregory Okay, but how does that take away from the fact that this video still has about 1 million views? I don't remember ever claiming RA was "bigger" than Lil Wayne. I was just saying RA The Rugged Man is big in his own right. Remember 'Cunt Renaissance'? How many other rappers can you name that rapped on a track with Biggie before his big break? Because I can only think of one. Long Island's Finest, The People's Champ, Crustified Dibbs AKA RA The Rugged Man.

It blows my mind that I work with a diverse group of men, one is a local musician in Cleveland (rap/,hip-hop) and he has never heard of R.A. or any of the REAL hip/hop legends I mention to them. I love good music man. I mainly listen to hard-core or death metal- yes hold up- these genres are misunderstood, its more than screaming breakdowns. A long story short- people that listen to that- just love music in general. Im 36 now but remember when bone thugs took the world by storm- and it lead me to the real underground artist. I just never understood how people who only listen to rap- listen to mainstream shit and claim j-cole or Lil Wayne are the GOATS.
