It didn't even make it onto a studio album, only on a Rarities album, a song this fantastic couldn't even make the cut onto one of their widely released albums, that's crazy.
Makes you think if this was a cry for help. Such deep lyrics from a man who later committed suicide, such a great loss to music. Have seen Big country many times live, stand out moments of my life. Love you Stuart
Title lifted straight from a Stevie Smith poem because I liked the images of someone appearing in control but in reality floundering. This came from the same demos as "Over The Border" and I think it's another of those "close but no cigar" songs. I think during this period a lot of people didn't want us to be the Big Country we were and maybe we were trying to be something that wasn't us. - Stuart Adamson, Restless Natives & Rarities liner notes
Love this band so much. Beautiful stuff ☮️
One of my favourite BC songs. Man, those days. Makes me remember the first time I heard Angle Park.
This band was/are....always will be pure class.
This shows the immense talent of this band. This song wasn't even a single, and but is still brilliant.
Thank God Peter Wolf never got his hands on this !

Oh my... Love this!! ❤️
Musical & lyrical genius......audio masterpiece.
One of my favorites and one of the best they ever did.
Brilliant.

Another hidden gem.
"We are all mislead"
For almost 30 years i'd thought it was "We are harness led".
2 little words change the meaning of the whole song now. :-)
thanks...totally brilliant!
At this juncture, this song should be the new US National Anthem....
2020... hold my beer
One of their beauties!
