I wish I could meet Tom Bresh but I’m always pretty broke and I would not know how to find him, also I would be far to intimidated to play in front of him, I would be star struck! My grandfather taught me about Travis and to this day I’ll take Mr. Merle Travis over Chet Atkins. I’ve enjoyed Thom Bresh playing with Tommy Emanuel!
Last thing I did before quarantine lockdown was visit the Breshman in Nashville after making my first visit to Asheville. Yes, it was a bit intimidating playing in front of such a mentor, and I hated that part. I could have played so much better, but I was pretty nervous about playing. Hanging with Bresh was really cool, though, a genuinely cool human being who always says what he means weather you like it or not. He started me on my favorite tune, "Vermillion", and I'm still working to get it, but it's coming along.
Travel to Nashville next July for the Chet Festival (CAAS). Bresh is almost always there performing or conducting workshops. You should have no problem meeting him. It's pretty expensive so take 3 picking buddies to share the costs.

Hang in there, Bresh! Just remember that other countries are having 1000 times worse consequences for the lockdown. For example, I can't see my wife and son in Brasil because you can't even travel from city to city without thorough documents that are hard to get even for a medical emergency. Here in CA, we've got restaurants back open, and hardly anyone wearing masks anymore or "social distancing". Oh, and by the way, everyone seems to notice in our San Bernardino mountain community that NOBODY IS SICK on the entire mountain, statistically inconsistent with the hysteria and now riots. They're coming to take me away, Ha Ha!
