You were right about the Lapis Lazuli, it's 1.5 times more common than Diamond ore. I've got a suggestion, it really really comes in handy to bring a bucket of water into caves! If you catch on fire you can place the water on a block nearby and save yourself, which would have come in handy this episode. Water is also amazing for turning lava pools into Obsidian, so you don't have to carefully fill in the lava with cobblestone or gravel!
@phyrexiansoldier 1) I actually really like the default pack, but the bigger reason is 2) People have watched 50 episodes of an LP with these textures-if you switch on them in the middle of it, confusion will arise. I know that there'd be plenty of people that wouldn't be affected, but there'd be plenty of people who would, and I'd rather not confuse my audience. Mal and I might play custom maps in the future, and if so, we'll probably use texture packs then.
lava can be horrible. I've lost a lot of good stuff to lava. Never do to a creeper landing on my head, but they've caused me more than enough t rubble in other ways. I left my house with a mission in mind and three showed up and blew a corner out of my house. It took me the rest of the day to fix it and cover the lake I hadn't known was under my house.
what happened was, a creeper landed on Mal, it blew up, the explosion incinerated the ground she was standing on, causing her to plummet into the magma below, then i saw her diamond pic-axe fall into the magma.

@stephenplays it would be a sssssssssssshame if your diamond pick axe were to fall in to lava that creeper told me to write that and for you two to watch out for spider jockys

Always carry buckets. They can easily get rid of water falls, lava falls, and lava pits.
