    Your videos are a bunch of fun. The personal engagement, fun cutaways, production value beyond a static panel display and smart editing for content make your videos way more valuable to spend the time to watch. Thank you for taking us along as passengers.

    Huh!! You got four MIT Aerospace engineers on board and you can't collectively find a voltage problem on a GA aircraft?

    Also, I am always amazed at how many "pilots" complain in the comments about not seeing checklists being used. Really? It's called, wait for it... "Editing". Wow. Great video!

      @Tom-ih8gr 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      CherokeePilot or just learn the checklists 🤷‍♂️

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      No, you should always use the checklist, even if you know it.

    • @willhazen9507
      @willhazen9507 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      WMU and most flight schools want you to do the checklist as a memory item without looking at it, with exceptions for Before Land and Runup, which we run through on the FMS after doing by memory. All depends on how you were taught.

    • @jcheck6
      @jcheck6 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you do it from memory it is call flows check.

    Nice job catching the bad clearance Matt. I hate it when they do that and it's fairly common. You can't go direct from an airway!

    • @maesc2001
      @maesc2001 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      US clearances are so long anyway. In Europe you’ll typically get like cleared destination flight plan route via SID when airborne contact xyz squawk so and so cleared for takeoff. All the rest comes as you come along, mostly direct to. Period. US ATC services are way better though.

    This was the Bonanzaflight of them all. It was completely outrageous to see the rocket and the SRB.s coming down. I was at KSC myself in june 2017 and was also on the pad 39A. It was also the pad Columbia was launched at on it,s faithful flight STS 107 in 2003.

I was kind of hoping, when I saw his video, that he might have run into Baron Pilot, but I don't know if BP went to the launch or not. But, running into you was just as surprising and cool.

    Did you think about checking the alternator out transducer ? It’s in that circuit I think. It will give you fits if it goes haywire.
    Nice ChemTrails

  • @davidn940
    @davidn940 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Matt: I see your voltage is fluctuating. Considering the components that you have changed I would look closely to resistance in the field circuit. One of the nice parts of the diagnosis is that the field circuit testing is done with the engine off. I would recommend measuring the voltage drop between the bus and the regulator. Then measure field voltage drop between the regulator and the alternator. Anything measuring above 200mv. requires attention. One of the things that they do in wiring is run a combined field load and sense in the same wire. Any resistance in the field circuit also influences the sense circuit. Report your findings. Dave

    What? It's been a year since anyone commented? We are still watching and loving it. Also, wondering what age Matt will reach when 8000 calories per day will cause him to wake up one morning and say. "Christ! When did I get so fat!" I wax melancholy for the days when I ate a large Dominos washing it down with a 2 liter and, while sucking a bit of pepperoni through my teeth, asked, "what's for desert?" That was when large used was 16". Dangit! Now I'm hungry.
