He sets a poor example for so many additional reasons, unfortunately. But you know, circumnavigating the earth solo before your prefrontal cortex is formed will certainly lead to quite the ego. And something something hazardous attitudes. Sigh, oh well, I'm one to talk I guess
@speedracer9132 or you fly the way you want to fly and let other pilots fly how they choose. There are many ways to fly without strict adherence to procedures. I fly for fun, not as my profession, yet so many want me to follow professional procedures.
Wind direction, and the other airplane was already going that way. If he would have landed straight in, the other plane would have been trying to take off going the opposite direction.
Generally I know what to expect, and then I’m bugging everything else like altitudes or headings in the autopilot and noting anything that’s different from expected. So instead of writing it down on paper, I’m writing it down in the avionics and then there’s just a couple things to remember. If I’m tired though all bets are off.
@@mattguthmiller Generally professional pilots stop doing whatever they’re doing when they get their clearance and write it down and confirm it with themselves and what’s in the box and if there is one, the guy or girl in the other seat. Stop being gash, it’ll kill you.
She approves that S-turn, and it’d be an instantaneous automatic loss of approved separation between aircraft and terrain. But yeah, we suck here I guess. 🤷🏻♂️
Great flight Matt, thanks for sharing. Haven’t landed on 31 yet in my Lancair IV-P… But lots of times in my 182. You get to see downtown kinda close and personal. Props to you on your engagement. See you when the snow melts.
You don’t. You put it in the avionics as you hear it. Excluding the route (which is gonna be the same 95% of the time if you’re flying out of a familiar airport), when you’re given your initial altitude, plug it into the altitude bug (you should already know your final altitude that you filed). When given frequency, plug it into your standby com. When given squawk, plug it into transponder. Now just read back everything you plugged into your PFD.
"That's what I get." You know that you should be writing down your clearance, but you are acting to support your self image in spite of your self interest. Seems to be a common behavior pattern these days.
@ Matt can’t even copy or read back a clearance without screwing it up!! He should have spent his money on training instead of buying a plane that he is constantly behind trying to fly!! It’s only a mater of time until the FAA is investigating his crash!!
I see pilots making clearance mistakes with writing it down! It happens once in a awhile, that doesn’t make it pathetic. I’ll admit, I must be an idiot here, cause I don’t see pathetic practices. Maybe you can enlighten me more on what they are?
Love the no writing down clearance (and messes it up) STILL no checklists, (messes that up too), trying to be too cool for school

Where did I not use a checklist?
@@mattguthmiller take the constructive feedback humbly and fly safer, set a better example

the check lists on the TBM are scrolled on the PFD MFD. that is why he runs it with the toggle on the yoke
Yeah matt, you might want to write some shit down occasionally for the readback
Great content Matt.
I love the 'smiley face' decals on the 91PX
The black line on the nose is a cool addition.
Why didn't you write down your departure clearance from ATC?
Why did you come in from the opposite side when you could've come straight in just as easy?

It's relatively simple to maintain, gentle flying airplane. I call it Kirby. 😊
🛫
Did you sell the Bonanza? How did you get the TBM?
When did the TBM replace the bonanza?
Think he has both
So Matt, I just ran across an ad on N91PX was for sale out of San Antonio TX. Is this a false advertisement?
Thanks for the ride Matt. Lotta Trolls on this video.... keep it up man love the work.
no trolls.. just people that are watching someone that should know better, who does not know better.
Nice graphics.
Sounds like you are ready for some automated ATC :)
wait! a cameo by the one and only 367HP 🤩
You don't use the Mormon Tug? aka "Best"?😁
that's impressive that you can remember that entire clearance without writing it down.
Not just without writing it down - whilst still setting up the aircraft. Mental capacity galore!
I believe he has photographic memory so it’s not an issue
Funny to say that in a video when he failed twice, which is unusual for him.

“SkyWest do you have the airport in sight?”
“Affirm”
“Cleared visual approach runway 30”

Yes 2 videos in almost a week. This is what keeps the motivation up.
nice job!

A nice touch would have been if you took some bags of groceries out of the plane at the end.

if you wrote your instructions down, you would not have a mistake.
lol
but how the hell do you remember all of that? lol

I wonder which plane is going to get vectored all over hell's half acre next time they are in BZN? I liked it though. The truth hurts.
They make Roombas to pull planes?
Wash the plane man !

As a controller, this guy is the worst kind of pilot and we mock them as soon as we unkey the mic
🧐
constructive feedback would be more productive bud
Nice to see Big Sky resort with the Yellowstone Club ski area just south of that.
Only perfect pilots commenting here. Soon they will be programming perfect aviation apps on their mom’s computer.
Thanks for sharing your story. Thumbs up 👍.
No warning for wake turbulence? They’re really mailing it in, eh?
This guys radio work is absolutely pathetic!!!
Same troll post as last video.. haha, you hold true to your name..PureTrouble!.
@ His radio work in this video was even worse than in his last video!!! Just stating a fact!! Guess you are too dumb to see that!!
I know, it’s bad when a pilot and controller communicate the needed information without fluff.
