@@Chilax actually, I just finished the jealous devil video two days ago we’re going on a competition run tomorrow. I’ll try to get some editing done on Sunday and then yes I’m gonna start doing some head to head charcoal competitions. I thought about making it like a seated thing, you know like ESPN style all the charcoals I have had to head eventually have there can be only one like Highlander the movie what are your thoughts?
@@FLYINGSMOKE sounds good. I went crazy at Walmart and bought too much clearance charcoal including $8 jealous devil briquettes. I use your videos and others to figure out what I light up for what.
@@Chilaxdude, you got JD for 8! That’s a steal! It is quebaracho (axe breaker) charcoal, aka not cheap wood. It burns hot, and clean. B&B got bought out by Duraflame… I have stopped using them in comps… not the same as I started with. Right now I’m using Blues Hog briquettes. Good stuff good flavor.
I just switch to b&b charcoal about a week ago two weeks ago you and another TH-camr always kept talking about b&b charcoal and I tried it and I fell in love with the flavor is smell thank you
I always enjoy your videos, we appreciate the effort that goes into these comparaisons. Nice job keep up the good work Watching from up here in 🇨🇦 wish I would find B&B up here
Awesome review. The only request I would have for a lump comparison is to dump the bags to show consistency in size and how much unusable or scrap charcoal there is.
Excellent video. I've heard a lot of how great Jealous Devil is. First time hearing about the B&B XL Premium. My local Ace only had a small bag of JD. I got the B&B and cant wait to try it. Thanks.
Thanks for another video. I enjoy what you've produced. I've been trying different brands of lump charcoal, and some have been disappointing. I just bought my first bag of Jealous Devil, and I'm curious to see how well it performs.
I would like to see a comparison of different types of wood lump charcoal ex:mesquite vs oak. Curios to know because mesquite is the main thing i use because im from south Texas
I just found your channel (new subscriber) and I'm loving the charcoal shootouts! I'm hoping to find a briquet that gives off the least amount of smoke/off flavors as it's igniting because I sometimes have to add unlit charcoal to lit ones during smoking. Any recommendations would be appreciated!
My recommendation it to watch and share my videos... ;-) Ok... so far, and I’m always on the hunt for new charcoal to try, for low and slow I love the char logs. I will say that they burn so clean, you will need to add wood chips to get good smoke. My go to briquettes are B&B. I won’t compete with out them. For lump, the jury is still out. But Jealous Devil and B&B both use A South American hard wood that has worked for me. Rock wood is good too. Thanks for watching!
@@FLYINGSMOKE Thank you! I see the B&B briquettes put out a lot less "dirty" smoke when they're lighting, I'm gonna pick some up at Ace! Appreciate the videos and help! I will share your channel w/ friends!
Ok one more question, do you notice in difference in flavor btw B&B OAK Lump charcoal vs the Quebracho South American Hardwood. So does the Oak charcoal taste any different than either the JD or the XXL hardwood? Trying to debate if I want to buy some, I love Oak.
To be honest, not much. In order to get anything other than “smoke” flavor you need to smoke for hours. At least that is what I have read and what I’ve noticed.
wow come on man you cant call people haters , when your the one doing comparisons , in the same grill , there are many variables, is one by the the air vent on the bottom is the hotter one burning off the cooler one , your the one doing the comparison , its your own fault you got so called haters ,
Too bad B&B explodes and pops like it's 4th of july. No thank you! Garbage. Can't even use it with my BBQ Dragon blower because it sparks and pops like a motha. B&B is also ashy af, funny how this guy never shows that.
@@FLYINGSMOKE I enjoyed the pace… just found your channel and watched a stupid amount of videos to find me a new charcoal - haven’t grilled in years since I travel for work and moved to an apartment. Gonna try these and a super small portable grill I can take with me on travels, because I’m tired of restaurants not getting my fillet right. Thx for you what you do and the positive vibes.
Have you tested the jealous devil briquettes vs the B&b briquettes?
I just bought jealous devil. It’s on my todo list!

Great vid! Glad to see you back!
Thanks Nathan
Great video! Love them! Keep em coming
I really appreciate that
Thank you for the videos! I've used your videos to help me make selections for smoking and grilling. Really enjoy your fair comparisons and the info.

Same here, very tough to find anything other then royal oak or kingsford in Saskatchewan, found a place that carries jealous devil, super expensive tho
Fogo Quebracho is one I would like to see tested. Light brown bag it says Quebracho on the bag .Thank You
I have a bag (bag is black) not sure if that is the axe breaker one. What color is the bag of Quebracho?

Great video! Funny thing is a friend at work just purchased the Jealous Devil and I use B&B so I went out searching and found this. Sending to him.
Thank you!
B&B sucks bro. That thing pops an sparks like crazy.
No thank you.. It's also ashy AF. Funny how this guy doesn't show that. Convinient.
Great video

No surprise they are so close being the same wood. I find the JD to be on sale more often than the B&B in my area so I get the JD much more often.
Are they the same wood?
@Pasovineyard I believe they are both “axe breaker” or Queboracho (not spelled right)

I love the B&B products. The briquettes and XL products are top notch. I think I still need to try out the green bag.
B and B is from Texas?
Love that it’s real head to head! What’s the next competition you are doing.
If all goes well I am coking in Corinth this Saturday.
GREAT STUFF, FS! VERY REFRESHING TO SEE YOUR EXTREMELY POSITIVE VIBES, ESPECIALLY IN TODAY'S CLUSTER EFF, KNOW WHAT I MEAN? "WINK"
Thank you! That means more than you know.
Hey when you cook on either charcoal, can you see a significant difference btw them?
Yes. But it is very small. As the B&B has larger chunks it tends to burn longer. But for most people they are comparable
So how did you do over the weekend. I took 13 here in Ga...
I had honey doos. Didn’t get to compete. But I am this weekend.
Great job
I’ve taken your advice with the BB and my scores have jumped because of consistency. Thanks for all the videos, they helped me a bunch
Awesome! Putting out videos helps me learn and give back. I am honored that what I could share has helped you.
If my wife ever kicks me out, the only thing I care about taking is my PK 360.
What brand is the infrared thermometer ???? Suggestions for a good one

I only use Thermoworks. They are awesome and worth it. Lots of choices on their site
