I have been doing this since I was a teenager this is how I started crafting jewellery. My mum and dad used to go round the charity shops when they were out and about and would always look for stuff for me to take apart and upcycle into really cool pieces. It's a a really fun way to craft jewellery and yes you would be surprised by the pieces you can create.✌️💚
I love raiding the Op Shops (Thrift Stores) and Garage Sales for old jewellery as there are some downright gorgeous pieces there for the low price purchasing. You got some super stuff there Matt :D
Iv been doing this for yrs ..never gets old .buy pounds of new and old jewelry..on ebay.. plus lots of stones I polished.. makes wounderful jewelry.. so much fun.. and some I keep.. you are your best display.. thank you Matt. ❤
Absolutly, I always heard it called harvesting beads. The original configuration of the beads might not be current but can easily be updated with new beads added in.
Thanks Matt for sharing this video and reminding me of how I first started to craft jewellery 😊 Also how it's ok to do this. Feeling really inspired right now. TC of yourself 🤗✌️x
So glad I found you. I have been making wire wrapped rings and now I have this new adventure with stones and chain and wire. You are so funny and yes talented too.
I am impressed by you passing on deconstructing some pieces based on your appreciation for the piece in its current form. Also, I'm grooving to the music!
You are so unassuming. I really love following your channel along with Lan Ahn and Suzy Wong, Oxana Crafts, and Back to Earth Creations. All of your perspectives keep jewelry making fun and challenging. Thank you for sharing!
My MOST favorite thing about your channel is you are REAL LIFE and thrifty and you TEACH!!! I wish you would do a video on how to find shows. I have been watching you for a year and have great stock just tried selling on Etsy and it was just a bust I want to do shows so bad. SPECIAL REQUEST DO A VID ON SHOWS!!! lol Love your channel Keep up the Great work!
I'm thrilled by your channel showing in my feed today! You're very talented! I loved all the new designs, but that purple shell wire wrapped pendant knocked me out! Thanks for making my lunch break fun today.
Love the idea of repurposing jewellery to make it unique and since I discovered wirewrapping, I am addicted! It is very therapeutic!!! Please keep up these great videos!
You do the coolest stuff! I used to make bracelets about 20 years ago, then got busy raising a family. Now that we're empty nesters, I've been getting back to it, and my new favorite thing to make is earrings! Your videos help so much! I was just out and drove past a couple of stores, and I thought I need to go this week and see if there's any clearance jewelry I could take apart, then I saw this video! Keep up the beautiful work! 😍
The brown with green bracelet you showed is made in Peru. The brown tube beads are usually bamboo. I know a couple from Peru who sell work like that , it is all hand crafted, generally more cottage industry in bulk.
Really creative with less cost. I also go to antique stores. One in my community has many necklaces for $3. I am working now on one that I can get several pieces from it. Love doing this too. Thank you for this video.
I liked watching you work because your could see exactly what you were doing. Sometimes people's hands get in the way and you can't see what they are doing with the wire.
Been following you for years on and off - mostly because of your innate creativity. You make it all look so easy. I’m great at doing wire weaving and learning thru duplication. The originality is where I have difficulty of course. You’re also always so positive! Keep it up!
I love this! That's how my love for making jewelry really started was a lady at work gifted me a bag of single earrings and bangles and necklaces. I made a wire tree with the bangle bracelet as a frame and the rest is history!
So glad I found this! I have been making similar things for myself since forever, but now I thrift jewelry for resale and in doing this I get some very nice valuable pieces in great condition, resellable as-is for huge profit -- but I also end up with tons of broken pieces, or ones that have very nice components along with broken, chipped or dead stones, or destroyed findings. This is a great way to recoup my investment and enhance profit. Thanks for the ideas.
You are super talented that I now have hearts all over my eyes! The simplest things! Your wire work is expert level for sure! Someone just gave me a bunch of antique jewelry. Although I saw a vision in recycling the jewelry, I now can take it up several notches since I was able to watch this video. I wasn't even looking for a video like this so I also thank TH-cam for feeding me videos they know I will enjoy. Take care and stay creative!!
When my daughter came home for Christmas, she found some old jewelry. She enjoyed the beads on a bracelet, but the rest of it was beyond repair. I took the beads and some of my own to make her a beautiful new bracelet. There were also some lovely glass beads she didn’t want, so I made some lovely earrings. It’s amazing how you can recycle old jewelry and make something beautiful.
Amazing video! I've been watching you for a couple weeks, in the background, you could say😊 Matt you are an amazing artist and I appreciate all the tips you share. I'm a resin artist, mainly these days. I've been making resin cabochons, etc. I sell my art at local craft fairs, and now (thanks to you) I'm thinking of learning more wire wrapping techniques for my resin creations.
You are fun to watch because you have a totally different style compared to me, but I'm always learning something because of that. I love that bead that you wrapped with the wire on a double spiral at 8:53. I might have to try that.
😊 Really appreciate the advice, I've been working on getting my Jewelry ect. to sell, but I wanted to do my homework on selling, how much ect. Everything that goes into a business. So this video has been extremely helpful . Thankyou!
Thank you very much for this excellent idea, to offer earrings, pendants, bracelets, etc. at a price of €5.00 or €10.00, I had already recycled some old and cheap pieces that I had forgotten in my jewelry boxes. Honestly, the pieces that we make by hand and with semiprecious stones cannot be sold at those prices. Whoever buys them should value them.
Hey Matt Ramona here, I love going to thrift stores and buying miscellaneous jars or broken or old jewelry for like $15 - $25 and I make my jewelry out of them my recycling clasps, beads, pendents, brooches(turnes to pendents), oversized earrings made into pendents... Ask family for jewelry they dont wear any longer or is broken... My room mate got me a broken jewelry grab bag of silver and art deco 70s pieces. All broken but I made 10 different items from earrings to necklaces with most of those beads I bought for my wedding(never happened) but it was meant to be for other choices and better decisions. Loving to be back here trying to catch a live auction but I continue to miss being here in Oregon... I'll keep trying, I'm marked for personal notifications but haven't gotten any yet. I'll send you my new business email soon... Miss you live, but loving your videos think I've saved nearly all of them...LOL 😂😂😂 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Matt, you make wire wrapping look so easy, but believe me it’s not! Thanks for sharing your ideas. I often repurpose jewelry, mostly restringing. I really need to work on my wire wrapping skills. I have fumble fingers! 🙄😁
Omg i love this. Isn’t it called up cycling now?? I love these earrings, have been meaning to try to make some. Thanks for making it look so easy. Blessings ❤
Hi Matt. I have been collecting jewelry, since I was a teenager. I started qirwwrapping, beading and two years ago I took metalsmithing classes. Now I have plenty of jewelry that I have made, repurpose jewelry too. I have invested a lot of money, and now I want to start selling my jewelry but I don't know where to start. I have two young children that I have to take care of, and I dont have the opportunity to go selling. I want to start an online store, but I am not good at navigating in the internet.
Oh, wow another awesome video, you are very creative, I love how you created everything here, I too make creative jewelry from items that I buy from numerous ways & change them.
I have been getting necklaces at the goodwill store..I take them apart and keep the beads together to make hemp necklaces with earrings and hemp bracelets to match
Hi Matt, enjoyed your video, always enjoy watching your jewelry recycle videos. I have tons of beads and I also like to find old and odd pieces to recycle into better designs. I can truly relate to the quote you made about how hard it is to sell your stuff, it's hard to sometimes give my stuff away but people don't mind going into places like Belk's and paying $40 and up for the same stuff. I'm working on rearranging and organizing my bead room so I can start back to making designs, would appreciate some ideas if you don't mind.
My gods you are talented! Thanks for teaching us how to do all of these things. I don't make jewelry but i buy it and i know what i like! I prefer silver and I love buying recycled pieces. At 10:45 you placed a beautiful wire wrapping on the goldstone necklace. Why? They don't go together. I might buy the pendant for myself and the necklace for a friend but not together! Loved everything else!

I laughed out loud on your comment about that one looking like an octopus. Great tips on communicating quality by reworking and presenting elegantly.
You are so unassuming. I really love following your channel along with Lan Ahn and Suzy Wong, Oxana Crafts, and Back to Earth Creations. All of your perspectives keep jewelry making fun and challenging. Thank you for sharing!
Great ideas! Love recycling old jewelry pieces. Never thought about the leather ones. I actually make them so adding beads is an awesome idea! TFS!
Nice transformations Matt.
It's great that you appreciate the work others created. I respect that you didn't take apart someone's hard work. I'm really enjoying your channel!
I recycled my grandma broken jewelry. Made some cool earrings. Thats cool with those jewelry pieces.
My MOST favorite thing about your channel is you are REAL LIFE and thrifty and you TEACH!!! I wish you would do a video on how to find shows. I LOVE thrift store finds! I can make jewelry all day with 3 bracelets
I'm thrilled by your channel showing in my feed today! You're very talented! I loved all the new designs, but that purple shell wire wrapped pendant knocked me out! Thanks for making my lunch break fun today.
Matt, I love watching you work. You have inspired me the most. You are so talented and awesome!

I've learned more from you on this video than watching others all week. Glad I found you!
I liked watching you work because your could see exactly what you were doing. Sometimes people's hands get in the way and you can't see what they are doing with the wire.
Love this song! And upcycle jewelry!💜
Love the fact that you kept some pieces intact... they are beautiful the way they are... thanks for your teaching.
Been following you for years on and off - mostly because of your innate creativity. You make it all look so easy. I’m great at doing wire weaving and learning thru duplication. The originality is where I have difficulty of course. You’re also always so positive! Keep it up!
Really loved that amethyst wrap and the turtle earrings!
Matt, you are a creative genius!
Loving the creativity!! You make wire wrapping look so easy 😅
I love this! That's how my love for making jewelry really started was a lady at work gifted me a bag of single earrings and bangles and necklaces. I made a wire tree with the bangle bracelet as a frame and the rest is history!
Love those long black beads, I love recycling.

Go to Google. Type in: where are craft fairs within (you choose of
miles). Put in the # of miles you are willing to travel.
Wow you are so artistic!
