Thoroughly enjoy your trip Down Under (you look like you are, lol), Happy gold hunting (prospecting) and all the best to you 🙂 - Aussies are mostly very good eggs Yay!
Thirsty country... Glad you had fun... Listening to new neighbours destroying some fine gums on the hill in front of me, which is pretty depressing... and my Kelpie's just pulling the stuffing out of our old Border COllie's bed... Living the Aussie Life, no good nuggets here! Although, they are finding gold south of us... :)
Many years ago, while I was trekking tgrough very similar country up near the tip of Cape York, right next to wear I was walking, a goanna about that size shot up a tree not 1 meter from me....then milliseconds later...WHACK.....a huge hawk thumped into the tree as well and started trying to pry the goanna off it....the goanna had dug its claws in (Im sure you took careful note of the claws lol).....after much flapping and prying, the goanna was going nowhere, so, the hawk, obviously quite sick of all the malarkey and obviously wanting something for lunch, ended up digging its beak in under the goanna's left armpit and tore a hole in tge goanna's skin, which the hawk stuck half its head into.....after some horrible crunching noises, the goanna went limp and the whole lot went crashing to the ground. The hawk kinda looked at me with this "MY LUNCH! WANNA FIGHT?!?" sorta look, before grabbing his prize and jumping into the air and flapping off with it. This took a good 5 minutes and is still one of the most awesome sights I've ever had the privledge of seeing (Ive also seen a giant meteorite going awfully slowly, pass over my head close enough that I could clearly see the colour and surface and within clear view for long enough to point and yell "Holy F###! F###ing look at that!" witg it visible for a good second on either side of my proclamation..It looked for all the world just like someone had used a giant trebuchet to lob this boulder over the road in front of me...it appeared to be going slooooow too (which is one major thing that made the whole experience so utterly bizzare) ...That was insane to see, but, the part that irked me most was that because the sky was so clear, I had no idea of scale, so my brain kept changing the scale from refrigerator size to large block of units and back again....I decided it was fridge sized....then 2 great big green flares blew off the top side of it and suddenly my brain scaled it up to Hollywood type scales....I genuinely thought I was gonna die and kept my eye on the direction it was heading for a good 10 mins, expecting some massive blast wave to vapourise me. And thats not even the craziest shit I've seen adventuring around Cape York. Its the perfect time of year to go check it out....oh...and ...fyi.....I found a 2oz nugget nearly the size of Ol Mates there, just sunbaking on the surface, not 10m from the banks of the Wenlock River. The place is lousey with gold. Full of crazy Australians....crazy critters ....crazier Australians.....more murderous but cute wildlife....plus...the occasional New Zealander! Enjoy your stay! Ps... Drop Bears ..... they are a thing here in Oz. Their apparent reality is entirely dependant upon you ;D
Nice to see the Agile Wallaby come down for a drink. It was definitely thirsty as they are normally very flighty around humans. The Lace Monitors are opportunistic. Normally found in chicken coops eating the eggs, they are a formidable opponent when cornered. The tail is used like a whip, the claws will rip flesh and they are capable of breaking small bones with their bite.
Glad to see you back on line. Thanks for stopping at our "mini-show". One digger said "I've learned more from Aquachiggers videos than everyone else all put together."
I believe one of the largest nuggets in the world came from Australia. The golden hand that the "Golden Nugget" casino in Las Vegas bought. Wow you can see how powerful that Kangaroo tail can be. I bet they can kick, and whip you with that tail if you make them mad. Don't you think there is too much pressure of the water on the sluice? Don't want the fines? Wow chunky goldy. Surprising fines were trapped 20 mesh? Lizard..... I think if you get bit. You get an infection real bad. I like this video thanks for posting. :)
Goanna is a monitor lizard. A delicacy in the Philippines ... tastes like chicken! The eggs are edible too! 3 footers are common but I've seen a 5 footer.
Awesome chigger. That gold nugget was through the roof cool. Been a long time since I've done any gold panning way back in the day on the headwaters of Butte Creek up in Northern California where I used to live. Had lots of little nuggets come out of that Creek.
👍 Awesome I wish I was down and under I can get some of that gold awesome lot of work involved but I enjoyed the video I'll wait for the next stay bless you guys
@@rossdtool Cow tick, Not like here in America, I will bet you a beer, every video Beau does in the USA, he will be covered in ticks, even after spraying deet. I'm Australian living in the USA, you can't walk through any grass, trees, bush, yards without getting ticks, some are so tiny you can't see them. Nasty things.
Wow your still here mate And you meet my mate too Mick Nielsen a great bloke real Ozzie COBBA Geez ya shoulda had a swig of that stuff mate Struth Crouch Oz
Bloody goannas. I've been camped in a lot of places where the goannas have lost their fear of humans and will come right up to a campfire. The fire means food for them if they can be sneaky enough. You know, I lived not far from some old Gold leases in FNQ for some time and never went fossicking. I need to mend my ways.
I could do that all day everyday once i got used to that Australian heat..physically looking for gold is the most thrilling thing a man like me can do.
Interesting you say that , professional gold prospectors in Oz on smaller 'finds' won't try to stake a mining claim as the listing process identifies the site for up to a year before the claim is approved for mining . . & canny claim jumpers jump in & loot it to hell . . you identify where you find . . you lose it quick
Did Chigg say the goanna got into his food? Surprised to see an American fall the old "wildlife ate all my food" trap on account of you guys having bears etc. I thought food security in camp would be second nature. Everything steals your food here, if you let it. Anyway, goannas are lovely and totally unconcerned with people. Where visitors come unstuck is they freak out, frighten the goanna, and then it does what it does when threatened - runs up a tree... but if you are between it and the nearest tree... then it'll climb up you. If they scratch you with their raptor claws, then you're going to need bloody strong antibiotics.
I haven't watched one of Chiggs videos in a while... I though he was just up in Alaska again with some Aussie friends. Took until the kangaroo showed up until I realized otherwise.
Nice Gold nuggets Beau, but the Goanna Lizard? Cute? Little? Any meat eating beast that is big enough to tear out of somewhere, knocking things over I wouldn't call little or cute, though I admit he had nice eyes. Keep your cabin door closed in case he's a snuggler like a rattler on a cold night in the US/ Move slow as not to startle them. Best advice from someone that had an encounter with a snuggling rattler in his sleeping bag. : l Moar Gold!

I hope you are enjoying Australia! Have been watching you for ages and glad to see you over this side of the world!
learnt something new about things in our own country from watching you 😊

They are good eating to
Like the Eureka flag at 5:35. You need to get down to the Golden Triangle in central Victoria. People are still pulling out big nuggets down there.

Lol that Micks a crazy bloke, in a great way!!
Kangaroo's are everywhere, I think most Aussie,s don't even give them a second look. Keep safe from the fires.
most Aussies do take notice, we don't trust the fuckers.
awesome machinery, Really cool! Thumbs up!
Your lucky you didn't end up with a kangaroo in your caravan. 😂😂😂🍻👍
Cool you got to see a tree monitor (goanna)!
I could do that all day everyday once i got used to that Australian heat..physically looking for gold is the most thrilling thing a man like me can do.

Can you use a highbanker in Gympie fossicking area? @Aquachigger
I didn't know dinosaurs could climb trees. Would've liked seeing a big ol salty grab that roo by its head!
Not the smoothest excavator operator lol.
He was foxing with him for not moving enough

Love the video! Nuggets in the next one!🤞🏻
That 2 ounce nugget was incredible
Don't worry...the goanna will eat any snakes about, all you have to worry about is the thing that eats the lizard.
Hoping you'd see a bunyip.
Wait until you see an adult Goanna, saw one as a kid scared the living, well you can guess the rest.
I haven't watched one of Chiggs videos in a while... I though he was just up in Alaska again with some Aussie friends. Took until the kangaroo showed up until I realized otherwise.
well, this is certainly cool. Did you get one of those meat pies yet?
The best scene in this video was watching the wallaby drink and nobody was talking or machines running.
That's the name of Mc. Leach's Lizard from the Rescuers: Down Under!
big brown yowie @ 15:25 top rt corner
Did you get to see the Opal mining areas too?
Gold 😁 👍🏻

Sweet - 145th like and ZERO dislikes on the board. NOICE!
Think Mr Chigg would make a good wildlife video man 👍
Straya mate!
Interesting.....
That guy you're talking to at the end looks like he could be your brother!
Be safe Chigg GOD BLESS.
If they call our cookies biscuits, what do they call or biscuits?
Scones???
A biscuit
Damper is probably the closest thing to the ‘biscuits’ the yanks have with gravy.
Scones
Crumpets
