Am I a horrible person if I say that while listening to this album it felt like the songs didn't really vary that much... I love how Fluff write's riffs and I know that Jared can do awesome things with drums (though it feels like he isn't putting 100% to Rest Repose's songs or he's just a little confused about the genre) and it looks like the rest of the group are highly talented too. But for some reason this album is kinda bland and didn't hit me as hard as it could have :/
Fluff, the album sounds great!!!! Congratulations to you and all the members of the band for staying with it and producing some amazing music. My hats off to you. Hope to see you on the next tour in California
I've been listening to it for a while, and I'm really glad you guys took the time to record this one, it's really good, definitely gonna be listening to it for a while.
I personally think the new singer compliments the band more than Vince. Not to say he was a bad singer because he was awesome. But I think the grit to Tanner's voice compliments the guitars alot better. Really looking foward to trying to come out to your guy's next tour
Congrats to you and all the guys about the album release!!!! It's huge that you guys were able to make it all the way through this stuff, and don't take any shit from anyone about the drums or anything!!! You guys worked your asses off and it was an amazing accomplishment. Keep doing what you're doing!
I came out of work at 6 this morning (Eastern time) and remembered that it was out today. I plugged my phone to my car at that moment and started listening to the album. I have to say, I was not disappointed. I was blown away by the crazy dynamic that Tanner added and how much feeling really presented itself through the whole album. I hope you guys make it to Michigan for a show someday so i can experience this in a live setting. #RRLP2017 Worth the wait.
Understandable about the way you guys had to record it. Nothing is easy. Hopefully everyone sticks with it and we get to hear the band in full effect on the next album.
I really enjoyed the video Mr. Bruce... Hearing you talk about the timeline of Rest, Repose and what you all went through was heartfelt and definitely hit a note with me from my past music experience.. You can hear your passion for music, friends/band mates and creativity =) Have a nice one and rock on man!
Like the riffs. The entire album is full of great riffs. I'm not 100% convinced about the singer. But I enjoyed the album. "Calling out" is my favourite song. Regards from Finland.
J Abad Caldeiro agreed. The music rocks. The singer isn't bad but his voice doesn't draw me in as a.listener and isn't instantly identifiable and unique. He's technically good, but easily forgettable.
waiting for my CD in the mail, im not in love with the music (yet) but I really want to support your band and the music industry. Looking forward to blasting this one in my car --when im not driving my 2 year old boy that is :)
I just had a listen to it in the car. It's better than I could have hoped! I was worried when you said the way it was written was changed to a more collaborative approach. But it's worked out great. Kudos!
Hey Fluff! You guys are truly inspirational, doing EVERYTHING yourselves! The album rocks! It sounds like a ton of fun to play. I think it's badass you guys are your own label! The drums sound great, guitar and bass tones are excellent. My only critique would be the vocalist's high notes might need a bit more practice (a little shaky), but he's still very dynamic and is, generally, awesome! Keep rocking our faces off.
What happened is the band kicked him out like a few hours after tour ended via text because he couldn't write material fast enough. I guess it was a classic quantity over quality thing, as perfectly exemplified by this bland album we have
I've noticed you guys are all still friends on social media and in some videos, so at least *I* don't think there's some nefarious reasons behind him leaving the band. I left a band once because I was working full time, going to college part time, and planning a wedding. I was honestly burned out and just wasn't able to do the band thing anymore at the time. I get it.
Got the Album, heared it, considered it to be damm good! I thought it was not as good as the sleap city ep, but damm its diferent but as good, or maby better! More hearing needed!!
Sounds less stoner and more heavy, drums sounds to saturated and undefined, but all in all its more complex than the sleap city ep. It's another taste. But i dig it ;)
i'd like to hear sleep city rerecorded, any chance of that? you'd probably see it as a waste of time, but i love those songs but can't stand the sound of it!!
I saw you guys play the show in walla walla not to disrespect any of the other bands but you guys put on the best show. I was really looking forward to seeing you guys play again..
Pretty stoked for the new album but a weeee bit bummed newer versions of The Generator and Sleep City didn't get recorded. If you ever make your way out to NY I'll be there to support. Cheers man
Absolutely love the new album dude. Just one question though. Only on. When are you guys going to come and tour England? Really want to see you guys live.
No negativity intended with this comment. However, I have an honest critique that doesn't have anything do with the record itself (because I haven't heard it). I was really looking forward to hearing this record and I pre-ordered it. But seeing how the CD wasn't shipped until Thursday the 18th, I won't be able to hear it until well after the release date... even though I ordered it way early. All this may be all my fault since I prefer physical media vs downloading. Nothing against downloading, but if I have a choice, I choose a physical copy. So anyway, my critique is simply to ship pre-orders a few days early so that we can hear it on release day too. I'm just a little sad about that, that's all.
I am sorry Ryan. I knew the drums were programmed and was kinda pissed off why Jared didn't record them. But now after hearing what you guys were going through, I understand. Great record. Great production mate. Cheers.
so is the band done now? I'm really confused on what to expect in the future. what I got from this is that you guys are done, not touring or anything. can someone please explain what it is that is happening? thank you!
I have get on this ''programmed drums'' subject since I kinda feel emotionally invested in it... Why are all the people getting batshit crazy about the programmed drums? Recording real drums is a bitch. It takes a bunch of time, equipment and money to make it sound decent. Mixing/mastering them is a pain in the ass, don't know how many of the people here complaining have tried recording and mixing live drums, but if you have, you know the struggle. Just the proper micing process can be excruciating, you're at the mercy of your room & equipment, not all of us have the money to arrange a studio session just for the drums or decorate a special room just to make it a drum room. Honestly the drums sound completely fine and Jared did an amazing job. If you don't know what to look for to distinguish whether or not they're programmed, you won't possible notice the difference. P.S. - It's 2017. Bunch of the records you're listening to and enjoy have at least on some parts programmed drums if not completely, you just don't know it because the artist didn't tell you.
Don´t see anyone bitching about Tomas Haake programming the drums for Catch33... I think people focus too much on the wrong things. Also; considering the mess the band was in just a few months back and the amount of time that the songs just laid on the shelf, I kind of get why they went with that decision. Great record Fluff!
A lot of butt hurt people about programmed drums. Get over it. Does it matter as long as it sounds good and the drummer can play it live? If he didn't even mention the fact the drums were programmed this topic wouldn't have even been brought up.
Fuck it! Sounds awesome! Like guitars, like drums, like vocals! Despite the fact of programmed drums (which I did not notice in my earpods, lol), albums sounds mature and full. Hope to hear more from Rest,Repose. If youtube musicians do it, there is still a hope for rest of us! P.s. To bad Vince couldn't make, I kinda liked his unusual style. Although new singer kills it!
I'll e honest, I'd probably have bought it even if I didn't like it, just to support ya. I've actually really enjoyed the record. You should be proud of it Fluff. I will probably never listen to it again now that I found out the drums are programmed.... I kid I kid...
it isn't that hard to record drums. fluff has done it for other bands before, and jared has to be able to play the parts anyways. it might have taken a bit longer and would have been a bit more expensiv for them, but the result would've been much better. The sampled drums really take away a lot of the feel and emotion.
As a drummer of more than 20 years, I can tell you it's way easier and less time consuming to record drums live than to try and make programmed drums sound authentic. There's so many little cues us drummers can pick up on to tell the drums are fake. No "random" or "humanize" function in software can really mimic the real thing yet. I personally feel its about the songs and if it sonically feels right. I don't personally care for programmed drums, but it's better than not releasing music at all. Some people have no choice. Logistically, RR may not have had one either. I think RR's use of room ambience helped to cloud the little repetitive details that makes sampled snares so obvious. That's really the key, making it not obvious. If you're brain/ears aren't drawn to the drum sound, you can usually get away with fooling most people. If the songs are good enough, you won't really think about it.
Raz-L a lot of people keep saying that but I don’t think that was why. Reason being FLUFF RUNS A STUDIO AND OWNS ALL THE NECESSARY MATERIALS TO RECORD DRUMS. But I think that since Jared was so busy they didn’t have time to track live drums.
MCR782 Well, I'd imagine Vince wanted to go on with his own band and the band wanted a different style of vocalist. From what I've seen they're still good friends. Also, recording live drums isn't easy or cheap, they're a relatively new band so it's understandable for them to do programmed drums.
We dont care if jared have the drums programmed !!!!!!!!! this is studio things bitches !!!!! and the sound is big !!!!! live and studio are two different things in 2017 !! GG guys keep kickin
They rested and reposed and now they're back
Am I a horrible person if I say that while listening to this album it felt like the songs didn't really vary that much... I love how Fluff write's riffs and I know that Jared can do awesome things with drums (though it feels like he isn't putting 100% to Rest Repose's songs or he's just a little confused about the genre) and it looks like the rest of the group are highly talented too. But for some reason this album is kinda bland and didn't hit me as hard as it could have :/
Thanks Fluff
I bought off iTunes. Doesn't list song writing credits. Would love to know who wrote which songs. Thanks.
Fluff, the album sounds great!!!! Congratulations to you and all the members of the band for staying with it and producing some amazing music. My hats off to you. Hope to see you on the next tour in California

I loved it. Brutal and beautiful at the same time. Awesome. Good job guys.
I've been saving it! For when I can just listen to it all the way through, I loved sleep city and couldn't wait for this! Tanners voice is so juicy
so excited for you guys. you seem like you work hard and enjoy what you do. peace
Fluff! Just listened to the album. Wow, just wow. That opening guitar tone melted my face, oh and the drums sound amazing! I love it all
I still like Vince's vocals more.
Honestly I had no clue the drums were sampled, The album still sounds fucking phenomenal either way! I'm so proud of you guys!
Understandable about the way you guys had to record it. Nothing is easy. Hopefully everyone sticks with it and we get to hear the band in full effect on the next album.
cool, glad you guys got it out there! retrospect rocks!!!
I will buying this very soon!
I really enjoyed the video Mr. Bruce... Hearing you talk about the timeline of Rest, Repose and what you all went through was heartfelt and definitely hit a note with me from my past music experience.. You can hear your passion for music, friends/band mates and creativity =)
Have a nice one and rock on man!
respect for you Fluff, you are a very righteous dude
The video preview was mindblowing. Great effects
Like the riffs. The entire album is full of great riffs. I'm not 100% convinced about the singer. But I enjoyed the album. "Calling out" is my favourite song. Regards from Finland.

Great album Fluff, solid songs.
Digging the record, Fluff. Great job.
THIS ALBUM IS FIRE!!! SPEAKING TO MY SOUL RN
waiting for my CD in the mail, im not in love with the music (yet) but I really want to support your band and the music industry. Looking forward to blasting this one in my car --when im not driving my 2 year old boy that is :)
Congrats on the release, brochacho!
I just had a listen to it in the car.
It's better than I could have hoped! I was worried when you said the way it was written was changed to a more collaborative approach. But it's worked out great.
Kudos!
The album is a banger. Good work.
wow the artwork looks amazing. And the stuff I Heard sounds really awesome. Something great is in the air, you Guys deserve it.
Hey Fluff! You guys are truly inspirational, doing EVERYTHING yourselves! The album rocks! It sounds like a ton of fun to play. I think it's badass you guys are your own label! So no explanation really for Vince, huh?
he couldn't do what part exactly? hahahah the conspiracy theories continue....
What happened is the band kicked him out like a few hours after tour ended via text because he couldn't write material fast enough. I guess it was a classic quantity over quality thing, as perfectly exemplified by this bland album we have
IMUSICALGENIUS lol! And the mystery ends
I get it.
Ryan Bruce and case closed!
The purchase options are so limited. You guys gonna release on bandcamp or CDBaby?
the new album is really good, listened to it many times already
Hey Fluff, I ordered the CD but I live in the UK so have you any idea of an ETA for it? Dying to hear it
Hi Ryan. The album turned out to be great, I love it!
Spotified.. now bought. Thanks, Fluff. Sounds great. Tanner is a monster. Although, due respect to Vince - he was monstrous also. When's the next one?
5:00 "Urgency"!! I always forget that word when I need it too.
Programed drums? *Glen flicker triggers*
If he can play the drums live AND program them really well, why not showcase both talents/skills??? Take a chill pill, internet
But i dig it ;)
I really love the way you write riffs ! Excellent album, sometimes do not vary enough (to my taste) but really enjoyable to listen to. Great job :D
i'd like to hear sleep city rerecorded, any chance of that? you'd probably see it as a waste of time, but i love those songs but can't stand the sound of it!!
I saw you guys play the show in walla walla not to disrespect any of the other bands but you guys put on the best show. I was really looking forward to seeing you guys play again..
Just listened to the iTunes samples, sounds great. I think your singer reminds me of Serge from SOD.
Congrats brother!
It's awesome!!!
Pretty stoked for the new album but a weeee bit bummed newer versions of The Generator and Sleep City didn't get recorded.
If you ever make your way out to NY I'll be there to support.
Cheers man
You got my download on spotify man, keep cranking out songs
Picked up the new album as soon as I watched this. can't wait to blast it at work. 🤘👹🐐👹🐐👹🐐👹🐐
Cool album 😊
If you hadn't told, no one would have noticed that the drums was programmed, Fluff. Great record by the way.
Listening through now.
Can verify. It's good \m/
the record is awesome man. keep it up!
Hey Fluff, just been checking out your new album and its amazing, well done and keep going from strength to strength 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Proud papa
Downloaded it the first hour it came out!! Fucking great album Ryan.
ok, I really need to know why Gimli aka Vincent couldn't stay as vocals? I loved his vocals :(
lovin the new album fluff. ☠🤘
Google Play link broken
Absolutely love the new album dude. Just one question though. Only on. When are you guys going to come and tour England? Really want to see you guys live.
I'll pick up a copy, Fluff!
Cool stuff! Keep up the good work🤘🏼
im curious about your and Jared's beef ;) also does it somehow involve glenn? he seems mad
any chance of you telling us who was going to record the full length id quite like to know.
Sounds good man, keep it up!

THE NEW RECORD FUCKING RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Ryan i am Patrick from Germany! Now I live in Strasbourg France! Best greez!
so is the band done now? I'm really confused on what to expect in the future. what I got from this is that you guys are done, not touring or anything. can someone please explain what it is that is happening? thank you!

YEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
Real interested in purchasing your album but is there any way to get the Wav files instead of the compressed versions?
Awesome!!! I was forward to this. As soon as I get my allowance, I am going to get it. No, seriously. Booze, guns and ammo are expensive, yo.
Don´t see anyone bitching about Tomas Haake programming the drums for Catch33... I think people focus too much on the wrong things. it's such a good album
Hey Fluff, during the recording of the new album. Did you, Jared, and Tony tried each other's amps to find the tone that would go through in the mix?
Physical copy to purchase?
aaaannnnd adding it to my ass kicking playlist
Fuck it! Sounds awesome! Like guitars, like drums, like vocals! Despite the fact of programmed drums (which I did not notice in my earpods, lol), albums sounds mature and full. Hope to hear more from Rest,Repose. If youtube musicians do it, there is still a hope for rest of us!

Very nice \m/
What amp was used?
I really want to like this album. Didn't grab me. Retrospect is still a good tune.
Tanner is a great choice for vocals. He sounds like he can do more baritone stuff, and for lack of better terminology, his voice has some dirt on it.
Sorry for this question, but I don't know what happened with previous vocalist with a beard?
He got kicked out after the Sleep City EP tour
Still morning in WA
I'll e honest, I'd probably have bought it even if I didn't like it, just to support ya. I've actually really enjoyed the record. You should be proud of it Fluff. I will probably never listen to it again now that I found out the drums are programmed.... I kid I kid...
Fluff why did you choose for programmed drums rather than real drums?
dat EBMM Valentine looks so good
Wait, so the drums on the album are real or sampled?
sadly, they're sampled.
Yeah, you would have thought, looking at over videos of Jared recording drums, that they would of had a real kit.
"Sadly, they're sampled".
Yea it would've been better if the record never came out. Jesus christ, some people...
it isn't that hard to record drums. fluff has done it for other bands before, and jared has to be able to play the parts anyways. it might have taken a bit longer and would have been a bit more expensiv for them, but the result would've been much better. did u programme drums due to a budget thing !
So, ehm, is no one commenting on the shirt? Say yes to Fluffs!
Music Man Valentine demo soon?
Wait. Those are programmed drums?
What were the reasons for needing a new singer?
Also why programmed drums? Cheaper?
MCR782 I guess they were already going through so much and were in a hurry before the enthusiasm died.
MCR782 Well, I'd imagine Vince wanted to go on with his own band and the band wanted a different style of vocalist. From what I've seen they're still good friends.
Also, recording live drums isn't easy or cheap, they're a relatively new band so it's understandable for them to do programmed drums.
Well they've recorded drums before. It's not that they've always used programmed drums
Fix Google Play link please and you can have my Google Survey moneys
i hope you and jarred are cool now...that's still a mystery, and isn't any of our business, but it still makes me wonder.
We dont care if jared have the drums programmed !!!!!!!!! this is studio things bitches !!!!! and the sound is big !!!!! live and studio are two different things in 2017 !! GG guys keep kickin
