I love Red Hood. He's one of my favorite characters. About time he's getting more of the spotlight. Also, could you do a video about the history of Punisher 2099? Thanks in advance. His name is Jacob Gallows.
I like this story. Great character development. Like the idea Red Hood giving up using guns but still be a killer. Hope it stays permanent. If not, give it 2 to 3 years before he goes back to it.
How? Batman is 1 man that primarily lives in Gotham. He can't stop crime i. Bludhaven or Metropolis. If Red Hood went there then Batman wouldn't be able to stop him from killing.
He needs to go back using those guns because that's who he is. And yes guns don't solve everything and they aren't always the answer,so it's a dilemma between what's right and what's wrong with the world today. I hope that the writer's take that into consideration.
Exactly, GUNS are apart of his character, it's just like Punisher, you can't have Frank or Red Hood without their Guns. Yet even Frank is forced to abandon guns in favor of swords, these comic book writers need to get a grip, a page with a gun in a fictional story can't hurt them, they need to stop being a bunch of Sissies!
The art and story were beautiful, I'm ALWAYS down for a red hood and Batman story and the parallels of Jason and Tyler were so poetic. Jason never gets enough credit for how hard he ACTUALLY cares for people when it's important regardless of his role. I don't hate the idea of a non carrying Todd he's a BAMF anyway whose the dirty Harry of the Batman legacy but a crowbar, kitana, and batarangs? It's like this weird mash of scorpion, kickass, and todd you know?? Even with rubber bullets the visual contrast of Todd was such a beautiful irony that separated him from the rest of the B-Fam? I mean it's like spawn without the cloak even though the angel wings were 🔥 or Peter without the spider logo or static without the trash cans 😂😂😂. Certain things are signature so hopefully he'll get the guns back JUST add it to the Arsenal. And Soooo what do we call Red Hood's lair...The Pad or the Hoodquarters 😂😂😂. And what a legacy and path he's created with the death of Tyler's dad and the possible blue hood foreshadowing. I wouldn't mind a deceased approach with another Jason Todd led story where he's ACTUALLY Batman in a different future dealing with the sins of his past WITH his own...blue hood 😎
Alright this might be the place to put this: Why don't we get stories from other Earths anymore, little one shots or what ifs to explore ideas. I have an idea for a story centered around Earth 3, or a similar offshoot. We got White Knight, but I'm not even sure what Earth that is. A way to explore The Jokers motivation and story, without having to actually get into the Joker's past or specifics, maybe a mini series.
This is the story I want to do for the curious: We open with The Red Hood gang of Earth 3, we take time to get to know some members, some actually want to do good and change the city for the better, some are just trying to dethrone the Owl king of Gotham, and his band of GCPD. They aren't organized or very good at being vigilantes, or gang, they get killed/taken out by Evil Jim Gordon, pretty easily, some escape. They regroup, get to know some new members, not everyone, this time they are organized and trained, still have verying motivation, hero/new criminal, less Red Hood Gang and more refined Red Hood Mafia, with class. This time it takes Owlman stepping in to take these good doer's out, and like a true vilian makes examples of them, Vlad The Impaler type stuff. Leaving 1 survivor, who got away, now suffering from PTSD, and Survivors Guilt, and whatever torture Owlman put him through. Doesn't remember who he is. This survivor regroups, becoming The Gentleman, Ace of Spades, his super suit is a literal Suit and tie with the Red Hood helmet maybe a different color, (Earth 3 version of Red Hood). The Gentleman is ruthless and scary, so much that Owlman is trying to make an example of him, but also ruin public opinion so that they don't rally behind him. He doesn't have to do much because The Gentleman, is kind of cruel, this is still a version of the Joker we're talking about. One day Owlman holds a bunch of kids hostage to get to The Gentleman, when The Gentleman comes to save them, they are scared and frightened of him, so much that Owlman knows he's there, and the kids are less afraid of Owlman. The Gentleman is beaten, Owlman thinks he's dead, but isn't. The Gentleman has to change to win, at least his image, we still don't know if he's a hero or a vilian, He regroup and rebrands himself The Dark Jester is born, and ready for the next round. Again the Two fight, but we are seeing Main DC and this Earth 3 side by side. Owlman/Batman finally have Jester/Joker subdued, O/B "Why do you do what you do, why can't you just stay down!?" J/J: "Cause it's Fun."
I doubt it will stick, but I think for now it’s a nice change of pace. And I hope they touch on his changing belief in deaths. Not necessarily no deaths but something that reflects his experience here.
Small correction: Bruce actually makes a new suit for Jason that resembles a lot like his old suit minus his guns at the end of this storyline. The crowbar was something he actually carried over from the suit you see in this video to his new suit he currently wears as seen in Task Force Z.
Jason Todd is one of the most Underrated batman characters. Same as Batman, Red Hood has trauma and we can learn more about trauma through these characters
Jason Todd really is one of the more compelling comic characters ever for me. His story is really unique and it always feels like he continues maturing as we get more stuff with him. His stories are my favorites
Love it. This was the best way to transition him out of guns, the rubber bullets were a... compromise to ensure he wasn't an "always lethal" type of vigilante. As much as you compare Red Hood to the Punisher, I'll be honest - he really isn't. Becoming like the Punisher has always been an almost resigned fate for Jason with the bare glimmer of hope. The morality of killing is barely ever a question or a concern in Punisher comics, whereas with Red Hood, the question of whether it's right to kill has ALWAYS been looming over his character since day one. The VERY QUESTION of right and wrong is practically an intrinsic part of his identity. If it wasn't a question, then his strained relationship with Bruce would instead be completely adversarial - the Batman hero versus another bad guy that takes things too far. At the end of it all, he needs to be teetering in the middle. I never really wanted the Red Hood to be a full lethal vigilante like the Punisher... but I certainly don't want him to be just another pacifist hero either. He needs to be in that gray area - it's who he is. Take away the guns. In this day and age, they only represent death. The Red Hood is more than that.
I'm struggling with the concept that he did the wrong thing by shooting Tyler's dad, Andy. The guy loathed the kid and even fed him drugs to keep him quiet. Um...how about no? Andy might have been where Tyler's mom got the Cheerdrops in the first place. If he HADN'T shot him, the guy might have wound up O.D.ing his own kid. This is like reading reports from battered women who stayed with their husbands for years; 'He hits me, but it's better than the alternative.' NO! No, it's not! That's the narrative the cowardly jerk feeds you to keep control over you. Sadly, the story highlights one of the most glaring problems with the Batman character; Bruce has enough money to literally put EVERY kid in foster care through a perfect life. Loving family...good schools...support system...the works. But does he? No. Instead, he builds a hundred million buck's worth of gadgets to go out and beat up costumed loonies with.
Guns don't kill people and neither do the bullets; people kill people. Take the guns away and they'll use knives, crowbars, icepicks, forks, cars, explosives, viruses, etc. Do you get that? It's a sickness of the mind for someone wanting to erase someone else. Weapons give their assailants POWER. Superheroes use their super powers as weapons over their villains and vice versa. When the Red Hood killed that boy's father, he became a MURDERER! (it wasn't the gun that killed that creep). There's no justification for it, no matter how hard the story pulls on your heart strings.
You're spot on bro. They don't care though. They just want to push their anti-gun propaganda. Guess what they're going to use to enslave everyone after they disarm everyone. People with guns. Guaranteed.
Yes! Not just him using a crowbar. But also hand held weapons, blades and firearms. He is a anti-hero who isnt afraid to use leathal force to defend the streets of gotham. Let alone who isnt bound by batmans moral code.
Can you do history of the Elementals, Cyclone and Sandman along with Kurt Conners the Lizard, Rhino, Kraven the Hunter, Chameleon, Scorpion and the Human Fly along with Karl Fiers the Finisher, Alistair Smythe the Ultimate Spider Slayer, Living_Brain, and Prowler?
Damn felt like Batman sensed he lost Jason a big there. I know the name repeating isn’t that big of a deal but still. I always love bat family interactions
Jason Todd just keeps getting better with his character constantly facing moral trials showing he is the most human and on his way to becoming a better hero
I wish batman would realize it's not guns that kill people, people kill people, someone or something has to squeeze that trigger. Guns are inanimate objects, and anything or anyone can be a weapon, firearms are a tool to be used to defend yourself and your family, but they can be used as a weapon, u don't have to kill someone with guns, but u can if u have to. It all comes down to the situation a person is in, and sometimes, unfortunately life doesn't give u a choice, and you have to do what has to be done to save your family and yourself, but it's not the what u use that takes a life, it's u. People kill people, maybe for a bad or good reason, maybe for no reason at all. Either way, the fact remains to be true, it's sad and disturbing, but like I said, sometimes life doesn't give you a choice. I wish all people would take that into consideration when it comes down to serious situations.
Yes! But the problem with that its already canon to his character to not use it. I mean thats the whole point of what created jason's alter ego The Red Hood.
@@jacobe3051 yes, not entirely, but yes, batman doesn't use guns cause his parents were gunned down. And also because, JUSTCE NOT VENGEANCE, and what I mean by that is, shooting someone anywhere in the body can cause serious blood loss, unless you're incredibly lucky, so It's safer to just beat them till they get k.o'd, which is actually pretty easy. He could use rubber bullets, but even then there's the chance of death, take Brandon lee for example, an unfortunate accident, so it's better to not use them at all, but red hood didn't have a no kill rule, it's something that made him so much more relatable then batman or any of the robins, he killed cause it's the fastest way to get rid of a killer, and he used guns to do it. It just makes more sense if jason stopped using regular bullets in his rounds, and instead used rubber bullets. And since he's an incredibly good marksman, it would make sense why he doesn't accidentally fire off any killing shots. And if he really wanted to change in a way that would show more of a brighter side for children, then a simple costume change would actually make more of a difference. Who would you be more terrified of bieng saved by as a kid, a guy in a brown leather jacket with a read hoodie and red helmet with a grey armored suit who uses black red coloured glocks, or a guy who has blood dripping down his crowbar and fists, with a black armored suit, a red half mask and red sleeveless hoodie. I rest my case.
Jason is often mistaken for not having a heart. Everything he does is to prevent what happened to him from happening to others. That has always been Jason todds foundation, he didn't want more "mistakes" like himself happening and he felt like batman is failing everyone by letting repeat mass murderers live only to break out and kill more people. Jason Todd is sad and broken from his life experiences but when he came across this kid, this looked like he finally found some sort of redemption and changed his ways.
@@blairomani it’s not about what Jason wants. He created that problem when he lost control and ended the kid’s father. It’s only a matter of time before the kid finds out who pulled the trigger he’s going to want red hood to pay for what he did.

It's refreshing Bruce did not go full Batman against Jason, sure the kid was there which probably helped matters but it's nice to see Bruce understood Jason for once and why he killed. The reason Jason uses a Crowbar NOW actually makes sense, to use the thing that caused him so much pain and use it against bad guys. Kinda reminds me of Spawn in a way, I kinda like how this singular incident is what made Jason understand why Bruce's moral code is better than flat out killing in most situations
I will always love Jason for his street kid nature and not shying away form guns, but I feel this is a natural evelution for him towrds the right direction as a super hero instead of just a vigilante. Like he understood what it's like to have someone look up to you and watch your every move and believes in you whole heartedly. Like how do you set a good example? How do you let them know it's all going to be ok? And also the crowbar is even more vicous than the guns so it probs will give Jason his murder high, I know he loves that, and be a bit more discreet and scary so that the bad guys are more willing to talk.
You know for some reason I don't get why he gets all this where he gets all this tech and he's made it perfectly clear that he doesn't want anything coming out of Bruce's pockets but he always knows where to get the good tech

Honestly I see it as more of a break imo. The guy he killed made him think otherwise. Besides the crowbar is suppose to help with fear
I like this story. Great character development. Like the idea Red Hood giving up using guns but still be a killer. Hope it stays permanent. If not, give it 2 to 3 years before he goes back to it.
The art work in this series is GREAT. May have to get them.
Jason: i'm giving up guns
Also jason: instead imma unalive people usin a crowbar and batarangs now
Jason's line about "municipal borders" really does poke a hole in Batman's ethos.
How? Batman is 1 man that primarily lives in Gotham. He can't stop crime i. Bludhaven or Metropolis. If Red Hood went there then Batman wouldn't be able to stop him from killing.
Red Hood is definitely one of my favorite heroes. Looks like I've got some reading to do! Your videos make me a smarter nerd! LOL Thank you!
I'm Glad Jason & Bruce Could Rekindle Their Relationship
don’t let this distract you from the fact that batman carries lollipops in his utility belt
LMAOO
damn AHAHAHa
quite unbreakable.
Literally next to the flash/smoke grenades
He needs to go back using those guns because that's who he is. And yes guns don't solve everything and they aren't always the answer,so it's a dilemma between what's right and what's wrong with the world today. I hope that the writer's take that into consideration.
Not gonna happen as long as we have activist comic book writers
@@dannyarriaga1 the sjw’s have a gun to the writers heads.
@@damnrite811 I see what you did there lol
Exactly, GUNS are apart of his character, it's just like Punisher, you can't have Frank or Red Hood without their Guns. Yet even Frank is forced to abandon guns in favor of swords, these comic book writers need to get a grip, a page with a gun in a fictional story can't hurt them, they need to stop being a bunch of Sissies!
@@theoutlawking9123 Not really helping our cause here buddy.
RedHood is my favorite
Bro is usin his fear to put fear into his enemy like his father did
Really love how prepared Batman came in with the lollipop. He probably has one for Superman too, Kryptonite flavor.
This is my favorite one of your videos it hits home really hard.
Jason is not Red Hood without his Twin .45s, it's just that simple!!!
Blue Hood better become a Superhero in the future
Alright this might be the place to put this:
Why don't we get stories from other Earths anymore, little one shots or what ifs to explore ideas.
I have an idea for a story centered around Earth 3, or a similar offshoot.
We got White Knight, but I'm not even sure what Earth that is.
A way to explore The Jokers motivation and story, without having to actually get into the Joker's past or specifics, maybe a mini series.
This is the story I want to do for the curious:
We open with The Red Hood gang of Earth 3, we take time to get to know some members, some actually want to do good and change the city for the better, some are just trying to dethrone the Owl king of Gotham, and his band of GCPD.
The Gentleman has to change to win, at least his image, we still don't know if he's a hero or a vilian,
He regroup and rebrands himself The Dark Jester is born, and ready for the next round.
Again the Two fight, but we are seeing Main DC and this Earth 3 side by side.
Owlman/Batman finally have Jester/Joker subdued, O/B "Why do you do what you do, why can't you just stay down!?"
J/J: "Cause it's Fun."
Im happy to be back variant was literally my childhood I remember watching it on my mom phone and my brother ipad
Batman:Breaks bones
Red Hood:Impossible, perhaps the archives are incomplete.
Red Hood and Punisher Team up
I hope one day the kid grows up to be the blue hood and gets his own comic book series and teams up with red hood that would be so cool
Wait wait wait wait...
What? RH gave up his pistols? (frowns)
How long till you do history of Alfred Pennyworth who's Batman's first Ally, surrogate father and loyal family butler?
My favorite loadout he had was that one death in the family run where he straight up just had the halo ce magnums, always thought that was funny
Tyler : Oh is this strawberry flavored?
Batman : No...it’s sweet justice
Can we just appreciate that Batman’s silhouette looks like Michael Keaton’s batman at 7:20 ?? Really cool detail
Batman gave him lollipop thinking to himself “I found my next Robin”
I doubt it will stick, but I think for now it’s a nice change of pace. And I hope they touch on his changing belief in deaths. Not necessarily no deaths but something that reflects his experience here.
Red Hood ain't red hood without his guns they defined him but using the crowbar is pretty badass too
For some reason, Batman smiling and offering "Blue Hood" a lollipop made my day. XD
Joker in Batman Hush: Who's Robin, these days?
Small correction: Bruce actually makes a new suit for Jason that resembles a lot like his old suit minus his guns at the end of this storyline. The crowbar was something he actually carried over from the suit you see in this video to his new suit he currently wears as seen in Task Force Z.
Jason Todd is one of the most Underrated batman characters. Same as Batman, Red Hood has trauma and we can learn more about trauma through these characters
I think it’s cool cause it shows a lot of growth from his character instead of him just staying the same
Jason Todd really is one of the more compelling comic characters ever for me. His story is really unique and it always feels like he continues maturing as we get more stuff with him. His stories are my favorites
i have a feeling in the future the boy named "blue hood" will become a robin or some kinda superhero later on.
The brown trench coat, grey body armor underneath, red helmet with white hair streak and twin guns is my go to red hood design
This is an awesome comics' story arch! Thanks for the video! :-)
Guaranteed.
Well said.
Red hood was already a murder and that guy was a scumbag, the writer doesn’t want you to feel bad for the guy getting killed but for the child.
Everything either adapts or evolves.
Stagnation leaps to entropy and death.
Forward My Friend.
Always Forward.
I LOVE YOUR SHIRT
Why not both guns and batarangs like deathstroke with his swords and guns and ballistic staff
Yes! Not just him using a crowbar. But also hand held weapons, blades and firearms. He is a anti-hero who isnt afraid to use leathal force to defend the streets of gotham. Let alone who isnt bound by batmans moral code.
Damn that hit hard that lollipop thing was a throwback Batman used that on Superman's son Jonathan
Goddamn u make the best comic book topics
Damn felt like Batman sensed he lost Jason a big there. I know the name repeating isn’t that big of a deal but still. I always love bat family interactions
Jason Todd just keeps getting better with his character constantly facing moral trials showing he is the most human and on his way to becoming a better hero
bruce's and jason's relationship in this video is very good.
Batman doesn’t use it because of ptsd
@@jacobe3051 this was actually funny as all hell aswell, perfect combination of sad, and funny.
@@Batman-tn2kr I hope red hood not having a no kill rule is relatable lmao
This was a good story.
Thank you for this!
Every time Jason and Bruce fight, I'll always take Jason's side.
I think we just got a new villain or antihero. Tyler the “BLUE HOOD.” I’m looking forward to the future storylines.
That would defeat the purpose of everything Jason was trying to do here.
@@blairomani it’s not about what Jason wants. He created that problem when he lost control and ended the kid’s father. It’s only a matter of time before the kid finds out who pulled the trigger he’s going to want red hood to pay for what he did.
@@kuji-in-deed369 uh i didnt say it was about what jason wants? i said it defeats the entire purpose of the story here. The revenge story is also kinda overdone by now.
@@blairomani the revenge story will never be over done. It’s a part of the entire history of humanity. As long the world fails to learn from the mistakes of the past, stories of revenge will always be relevant.
@@kuji-in-deed369 your replying to the wrong part of what I said. Not to mention this specific story is LITERALLY Jason breaking the cycle of a revenge story, it’s literally said in the book bro.
I love this small character development but still sticks to its original
Yeah I feel like he's gotta go back to guns or maybe some kinda adjustable intensity taser gun or something.
How long till you do history of America-Chavez, Speed and Wiccan since these Young Avengers played a major role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Can you please do history of them in honour of the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?
He's better with guns
I agree wholeheartedly
Arries you're gonna bankrupt me I keep ordering comics from episodes like this
Batman giving tactical insight as to why lollipops are useful in emergency situations is something I never thought I'd need LMAO 🤣
You know for some reason I don't get why he gets all this where he gets all this tech and he's made it perfectly clear that he doesn't want anything coming out of Bruce's pockets but he always knows where to get the good tech

And whoop people's asses on the regular. Keep that in mind, folks.
