    Amazing job! Making it look so easy! Definitely inspired me to make a first attempt at paining miniatures. And appreciate you taking the time to list each paint used!

      It takes some practice but anyone can do this! I’d not held a paint brush in my life until I started painting board games! Wish you the best of luck and thanks for taking the time to drop a comment :-)

  • @MihalyM2

    Thank you so much for these videos on painting Marvel United miniatures! I have just gotten into painting miniatures and this video was exactly what I needed :). Particularly in the use of washes because to get ready to paint the Marvel United set I began with some figures from another board game (Flash Point Fire Rescue). I used the wash generously on the entire mini and the effect was dramatic. While this is ok for a fire fighter, perhaps making it look like soot on the uniform, it would not work for the Marvel United minis.
    I just got the starter and mega paint sets from Army Painter, but they do not come with the blue nor red washes you have used. Do you have a recommendation for using an off colour wash? Like is soft tone ok to use for general purpose? Or is it better to spend to get the full wash set?
    Thanks again!

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man! You’re welcome! Hope you’re enjoying the hobby!
      You can get but using off colour washes. But if you’re willing to spend a little more I would definitely recommend the wash set. I use my washes loads, I’m so glad I’ve slowly got all/most of them!
      Another recommendation and slight plug - if you use discord check out our Patreon, starts at only $1 but you get access to discord and can ask us live! We’re also doing zoom meeting paintings at the moment.
      Either way! Happy painting man, tag me in some pics on Instagram if you use it - love to see how you’re doing

    Wonderful job. I subbed because of the Captain America vid. I recently unboxed my pledge feeling inspired and primed up a couple of figs. I'm a little disappointed by the mouldlines which are amplified by a primer coat. I have way too many plastic piles of shame and other projects I'm working on to sand or file down 50+ characters for this game. Did you do any cleanup for these models? If so, any advice? I've found the plastics we get with some of these kickstarters aren't always the most receptive to being sanded or filed and I've been disappointed with my attempts to de-mouldline minis in the past, unlike many of the other plastic soldier kits I work with, ie; Bolt Action, 40k, etc. Anything special you do or wisdom you can impart to us?

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment fella! I’ve only done 3 miniatures so far, and only had to fix up the mold lines on The Wasp. I’m with you, I’ve got too many minis to be wasting time fixing them up :-D it has to be pretty bad for me to bother BUT for example with The Wasp, I just use a scalper/x-acto knife and give them a quick scrape. Like 20-30s and that’ll do. It’s not perfect but it’s enough that you’d have to look for them after that and unless I’m painting for a competition it’s good enough for me

    How do you keep from having brush strokes on miniatures? I want to keep a very high gloss, does thinning your paint with water,to keep from having brush strokes affect the gloss?
    Any suggestions to keep the high gloss would be appreciated - I am painting a chess set and don't want to use water based paint.

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thin your paints with water and put on 2-3 thin layers (2 is usually enough). Then use a gloss varnish from a rattle can. This will give your pieces really good protection and make them nice and glossy! Give the flüis brush varnish 24 hours to dry before touching it

    6:01 Left arm you painted blue and then repainted red. You could have acknowledged your mistake and had a disclaimer in the video so someone following your method doesnt make the same mistake.

      The bit where I say “keep looking at the artwork and paint the red bits red?” :-D sorry painting this all on camera, editing and adding commentary for over 10 hours wasted some of you time!

      @@WatchItPaintIt I absolutely appreciate the content but a simple text overlay at 2:52 of "do not paint this arm blue as I am doing" wouldnt be too great an ask, especially when you obviously realized that you had painted it incorrectly later on (and didnt mention it). Strangely enough at 2:50 when you are making the error you do say "grab yourself the artwork and add blue in all those places: :)
