- Heads of Caribbean nations congregated to The Bahamas this week for discussions in preparation for COP27. This soviet bird flew in to accommodate everything involving Cuba's Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz.
It has been 8 years since I've seen an Antonov An-26. I honestly didn't even know that they were still active in Cuba. Cuba's pool of active soviet aircraft has died down significantly over the years. Also, outdated bookkeeping on aircraft in Cuba makes it difficult to keep track as well.
Visits like this brings things full circle for me because as my video quality progressed over the years, I started to feel bad about rare aircraft I recorded ages ago in lower quality. Catching this feels like a redemption from the last time I saw Aerogaviota.
I gathered these clips from the first 3 of 4 of her visits.

How did you know that Cuba's Prime Minister was aboard ? FAR-1459 is a Cuban Air Force plane but how did you find out who was on it ? OK don't tell me your secrets, I'll enjoy your videos anyway haha. AN-26 is somewhat reminiscent of an early Dash-8 don't you think ? Another goody Cameron !
