I have to kindly disagree with Hamza's comment about what he said with BTS' earlier style making it seem like they're trying to be something that they're not. We have to remember that when BTS first started out with just RM, Suga, and J-Hope, they were supposed to be strictly a hip hop group; it was only somewhere down the line when the rest of the members were added that the hip hop concept was changed to incorporate that and other stylings as well.
In BTS' earlier promotional works, they did the whole hip hop thing for a while, but more recently, their title tracks have been much more different. The thing is that their style really hasn't changed much-- mature, absolutely. If you take a look at their album tracks, most of their songs are hip hop/R&B-influenced because that's the music that they planned to write from the beginning, are writing currently, and will continue to write in the future; not only is it more akin to where this group started, but it's where BTS' true passion lies all together.
The only reason why their sound as of late appears to have been tapering off from straight hip hop is because that's what they have to promote in order to attract more sales and popularity. It wasn't until the HYYH era-- BTS' first major deviation from straight hip hop in their promotional music-- that they started to gain a huge following, but they never stopped making mainly hip hop music as one can see from a majority of their album tracks. So, the basis of BTS' musical choices has never changed as much as their [company's] promotional choices has.
uuh actually j-hope came later after they decided to change the group to a dance group considering hope came in as a dancer.

Their debut song is No More Dream tho. We Are Bulletproof pt.2 is like their follow up song. Both songs are good with strong beats and great lyrics, one song talking about dreams and one talking about their group. Anyway great reaction 😊
