    Can I just say that I love that you make long videos! I just love setting down on a saturday or sunday morning and having my breakfast while watching your newest upload! And when I'm setting up my own journal, I press play all and shuffle and have you on in the back ground :-)

    Super helpful to see your process of goal setting and breaking it down to trackable tasks. Thank you for sharing!

    Great video and very interesting re: the ProJo & breakdown of your goals. What I do to avoid to much duplication in writing is this: when I get to some stopping point--end of a month or end of a quarter--if I have a big chunk of info (e.g. lists of Goals with chunks done & un-done), I scan it, save as an image (not PDF), put it into Word (or GoogleDocs) and size it to print in A5 so I can clip it and paste into my BuJo. This is particularly helpful if you need a bridge as you go forward--a snapshot of where you are in overall goals. And you don't have to re-write it all--you can just start from that point forward, but you have the reference right there. It works for me.

    Watching your 54321 exercise video right before this, you have given me some great ideas of how to make something like this work for me. Someone in that video had commented about adjusting the timeframes for the 54321, and I think I’ll be breaking mine into 5 years, 4 quarters, 3 months, 2 weeks, and 1 day. Then using your Vision Board goal web for the year and the quarter will fit perfectly into that. I’ve been really struggling with getting my goals and vision board thoughts solidified, and this helps so much!

    Got a lot of new ideas for my Bujo... and I like that it's practical and not just art xD

    First thing to do before goal setting is to take a long look at 'what is my purpose.' Writing it out after a careful look.

    The problem with the timeline is that there would ideally be more than one timeline: a separate one for each project, and then a “master” that marries them all big picture. Perhaps you can use pages in the “N” book to write detailed timelines for each project, and then summarize them in the “P” book.. Maybe a suggestion for Claire?

    • @SunshineStationery
      @SunshineStationery  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s an idea! Hm...I think I’d have to use the N book...or find a way to hack the projects timeline!

    Great video. I love the specific quarter breakdown. I think it really seems to help seeing the entire quarter as a vision board. I’m going to color co-ordinate mine.

    From someone who has moved or helped move people multiple times, Konmari it first. Why have to pack, load, unload, unpack, then sort, reduce, repack, reload, unload again? It increases the cost of moving too as it's more loads, packaging materials, and time. I found removing stuff before hand makes it less stressful and overwhelming when you aren't staring at a mountain of boxes knowing those boxes have stuff you really don't need mixed in with stuff you really want to unpack.

      I actually did that; but because I used to live in a furnished apartment where I actually wasn’t allowed to throw out certain stuff, I felt like I couldn’t never truly finish the process. That’s why I want to do it now that I’ve moved and have total control over what I can keep or throw ☺️

    I don’t know how that project timeline would work for anyone... things change waaay too much, not only in terms of timing and dependencies, but your level of detail. As you progress, you’re going to learn a lot more and break down your tasks, scrap tasks that you thought you needed but were wrong, etc. I feel like paper is really not the best way to do that.
    You might have better luck using little page flags on that page and move them around as you need them.

    • @SunshineStationery
      @SunshineStationery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOVE the page flag idea!! I’ve kind of abandoned that page for the time being, but if I ever go back to it, I need to try that!

    I'm trying to convince my daughter, who is in an important school year, to follow the ProJo. I know she will benefit from it, by taking a bit of stress away after 'getting a handle' on her big year! Wish me luck, I'm trying to lead by example, as convincing a teenage daughter as a mom is near impossible, grrrr!

      Good luck!! I hope she’s able to find a way to manage the year (boy, oh boy, do I NOT miss those days 😱😱) and that it goes smoothly!!

      She could use a calendar app that includes to do lists to do it without having to physically write it all out.
      Apps weren't really a thing back when I was in high school and college, but I used to print monthly calendars for each class and write down all the due dates from the syllabus and add in the homework deadlines that were added throughout the time frame and then my master calendar had all due dates. It helped me see each class without overloading my brain with other deadlines I wasn't needing to focus on at the moment. If just turning on and off calendar displays had been an option, I would have used that instead.

      @@selbarton thank you for suggesting using a calender app, I definitely had to survive school without apps as well! This could be why I was drawn to the ProJo first ;) I have looked for tutorials on Google calender and planning and will show it to my sweet child as well. She has done so well independantly up til now, I suspect that the main reason for her agitation is fear of the future and uncertainty...and school mates and boys and siblings are not helping... Thanks again for reminding me that she is part of a different generation!
