      I played red/black Aggro and had no issues with siege rhino
      So turn one swiftspear
      And just sit on titan strengths for rhino and battlerage for trample your abzan problems don’t exist they can waste thought seize on my cuts or use it on my random spells
      If ty had elspeth I would sideboard in my 2 friendly fires

      @SuperbFairy ปีที่แล้ว

      @@badvoodoo2097 battle rage and friendly fire didn't exist in this pro tour, it's from Fate Reforged, so yes, their point stands, there were no good options for dealing with rhino outside of abzan colours in that tournament season and they were an absolute nightmare

    I thought you don't have to reveal cards you scry or draw from card effects with Courser, only when they are sitting on the top of your deck.

    • @Drecon84
      @Drecon84 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do. All the scrys and draws are resolved in order. That means that if you draw three cards, all three are drawn, one after the other and are revealed as a consequence.

    • @Falruk
      @Falruk 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      When drawing cards you do that one at a time, so each card is at the top of your deck for a brief moment, hence must be revealed. Scrying is a trigger, so the top card is visible while the trigger is on the stack hence it must be revealed.. and would need to be even if it werent a trigger as the top card is always the top card and has to be revealed

    • @anatole69
      @anatole69 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sami Nyckling What if you scry 2 or 3 and put 1 on top and the others at the bottom of the deck? Do you have to reveal them then?

    • @Falruk
      @Falruk 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      anatole69 In the case of scrying multiple at once you reveal the top card only, and ofcourse reveal the new top card after the scrying.(Seeing as only the top card during the scrying is ever the top card)

    I felt really bad for Thiago after this game, the whole time his play seemed to be superior to Ari's, especially in game 3. He just lost straight up to a topdecked Elspeth.

    Going back to this it’s funny how many people are mad about someone being happy to get a game winning card off the top deck, I’d hate to have seen them at local tourneys lol.

    • @richurro20
      @richurro20 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      its the way this guys plays that's annoying and bad-mannered. It's also his character in general why people don't like him, guys a douchebag. the whole tour he was acting like a shit head. from slamming his card on the table against Watanabe, rushing his opponents during play, his annoying heavy breathing and sighs, the constant talking to his opponents, him rule sharking his opponents and getting them DQ'ed just to get a win. the guy is awful and i seriously doubt anyone would enjoy playing against him at your locals.

      Some trolls are just blatantly obvious. Come to think of it, a notepad would be superior to a die because if a mistake was made you can see the history up to that point which could be useful. Plus not needing multiple die in games with tonnes of lifelink, a notepad can't get knocked over and lose its number, etc.

    • @gabriels3706
      @gabriels3706 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like to use a notepad because you can also write down information you know about your opponent's hand, not just life. And I also like to doodle when I get bored

    56:40, Thiago cast a downfall to destroy ajani on the main phase of lax, why didnt lax activate the ability of ajani before being destroyed?

    • @jimmymathieson4758

      +Alfrancis Sicat Probably a bit late, but planeswalker abilities can only be activated at sorcery speed, so you can't respond with them. Hope that helps.

      Compare how he reacts to when Chapin drew 2 perfect lands in a row to beat Utter-Layton, and you will see how a true gentleman plays magic. Ari was pretty rude.

    • @AlleonoriCat
      @AlleonoriCat 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I often act the same way. Come on, that was an exciting moment, no need to sit there with a stone face, trying to mimic a poker player.

    • @YnotElite
      @YnotElite 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not saying to mimic a stone faced poker player but clapping in Saporitos face after he just cleared the board seems absurd to me.
      I can understand a happy face or a sigh of relief. Someone has to draw a line somewhere..

  • @TheKrake36

    Lol all the hate against Ari, wasn´t he just happy to draw that Elspeth? xD

  • @maxguim64
    @maxguim64 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I don't even care about clapping in someone's face, but if there is something that I hate about Ari is that he keeps saying the cards that his opponent will play whenever they tap their lands. I mean ok fine you're good at guessing siege rhino at 4 or wingmate roc at 5 in an abzan deck. It is just really annoying to see it.

  • @grimey217
    @grimey217 10 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    Ari strikes me as one of those magic players you don't want to even interact with at a casual level. Seems as though he's SUPER socially awkward, or an arrogant ass...or maybe both?? I dunno, but either way his demeanor and attitude was flat out rude.

    • @grimey217
      @grimey217 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Oh of course, I see people like this at stores I play at regularly. It's common in magic, but ari seemed a bit over the top with the clapping in the face.

    • @grimey217
      @grimey217 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Of course he's happy, he top decked well at the pro tour, he didn't give a literal middle finger, but his actions were a bit rude. Happiness is not an exception for being rude and it doesn't excuse somebody from thinking before acting.

    I post this on pretty much any match with Ari in it but, I understand where all the hate is coming from, I don't agree with it but I do get it. However there are just some socially awkward people out there and they don't understand when they're being obnoxious or even offensive it just happens lol
    Edit: Although when he flicks his cards I want to hit him lol I can't stand it!

    I hate how stacked the Abzan is right now... The midrange version is basically unbeatable. Wizards needs to shift away from the Abzan wedge, and midrange decks in general, with this next set.

  • @sever323
    @sever323 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    When Ari +1'd Liliana, Thaigo could've made the unintuitive play and discarded Wingmate Roc, instead of Sylvan Caryatid, allowing him to whip back the graveyarded Roc to pair with the battlefield Roc to take down Liliana, immediately removing a major planeswalker threat from the board during his upcoming turn, and possibly turning the tide of the game.

  • @Chase731bigfish
    @Chase731bigfish 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thiago should have used the windswept heath in hand, would of accomplished getting a land out of the deck anyways and revealed a card that might not have been a land

    Ari Lax should have taken 1 from the Llanowar wastes when he cast abzan charm because without doing that he couldnt have played it yet he didnt take the2 life off why is that? :O 11:34

    • @SovatthaSok
      @SovatthaSok 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If I understand well your question, there is a Urborg in play ("Each land is a Swamp in addition to its other land types"), that's why he could play a colorless mana with Llanovar wastes and still get a black mana without losing life.
