Just to be clear, when I say filler episodes I mean episodes that don’t directly contribute to the main plot (of course they can still hint to it however) - filler episodes are more light-hearted fun episodes meant for a laugh between plot heavy episodes.

My problem with the new generation of paladins idea is that the new guys are literally the same age, if not older than the current ones bc of the time skip. It just seems silly to replace all of the current paladins when they have no reason to retire. If they want to leave, sure, but after they defeat Haggar, the universe won't really need Voltron. They'd be doing rehab on planets (and with the Alteans) only, maybe fighting off a few remnants. It'd mostly be diplomacy. Why would Allura give up her position of Voltron especially? It just seems pointless. I can see it happening, but I still don't think it's a good idea
yeah same. i just think it's too soon and really it doesn't make sense right now. considering that the "new paladins" have no experience flying ROBOT LIONS.
The only thing I don't really look forward to are the Paladins being replaced by those pilots. I didn't care for any of them but maybe they'll have more character in S8. Or in a spinoff if one was coming.

The irony is Keith flat-out refused to lead Voltron until he had no choice, and didn't feel comfortable doing so until he spent more time getting to know himself and his past. If people believe he'll want to lead the Galra Empire or the Blade of Marmora, they need to rewatch season 3. However, I will grant that Keith is alright with leading Voltron now; so if he were thrown into either of those positions, he'd likely eventually warm up to them.

Most people like the idea of the MFE fighters replacing our current Paladins but I don't :( I want OUR Paladins. Not the MFE's.... I miss the original Voltron when Shiro was in black, Keith in red, Lance in blue, hunk in yellow and Pidge in green. And Allura still doing her job of flying the castle of lions and training the Paladins... What is this. The only good thing that came out of the switch in lions is Lance is now the right hand man of Voltron. And Keith's character development from being leader....

I’m an editor and every time there’s been an early leak I’ve been able to tell whether they’re real or not because I’m so used to the animation, so I’m pretty confident about it. If for any reason they do turn out false though, I’ll be hunting down the artist to commission art, lol

So Keith being emperor... I can see that. But that would also mean he’d have to kill Honerva as well. I feel like the fandom kinda forgot she was still empress, and that even though a new emperor was chosen while she was alive, it doesn’t mean that she wouldn’t try to keep her throne. In the NYCC trailer we also say Keith getting electrocuted and piloting his Lion straight to Honerva’s robot, so this may hint at the throne conflict? He also might turn Galra, idk. That Druid seemed pretty foreshadowing in that one episode. GREAT EPISODE THOUGH LOVE IT❤️❤️❤️
To be fair, you would have to have Galra blood in order to claim the throne according to the Kral Zera (I probably butchered that name; sorry). Keith therefore could contend for being emperor. At best, Honerva would probably have a royal title like "Prior Galra Empress Honerva" or something of that nature.

Her only relation to the Galra was through her marriage to Zarkon. She doesn't actually have the Galran throne at all. The last one who did was Sendak, who was killed by Keith. So it's either that the Galra are leaderless or just willing to follow an illegitimate ruler (which for all their pride seems unlikely). It's like monarchies in real life; if a royal marries a non-royal and the royal dies, the spouse does not inherit the throne; it passes to the next available person in the royal bloodline. This even stayed true with Queen Elizabeth having no heirs, where she passed the throne to Prince James of Scotland. Therefore no, if it works similarly, Honerva doesn't have any stake on the throne and it could easily be passed to Keith.

However, all I'm saying is that they probably won't just 'give' him the throne. I mean, Keith is a Paladin, of the Black Lion no less, and if the Galra just handed their throne to him it would go against all they fought for,even if he is Galra. Then again, I'm not the writers, so I'm really just spitting out ideas. (And I also want to see Galra Keith, I wonder how the animators would draw him)
My theory is that it’s sort of backwards foreshadowing. Like lance remains as Keith’s right hand whether he stays on earth or stays or Voltron or leads the galra or blade of marmora. So he sort of does spend eternity with Lance
Shiro is not going to die, the writers and animators were thinking of cutting him off but there thought that Keith and Shiros bond were too strong to just cut him off
I think, what keith says about lance, could be foreshadowing. Keith said he didn't want to be stuck with lance for eternity, what if thats ironic, and he is stuck with him?

This is not possible since their is only one season left and not enough time to do such am pretty sure team atlas will defend earth Am also already mad about the lion switch thing I like the fact that Lance is in red and takes on leadership but I hate Keith's so called "bond" with black he didn't even do anything to gain control over its powers unlike Shiro who tried harder and built up a strong relationship with black
Zak Sharaz I agree with Keith not having an strong bond with the black lion as Shiro does, but I believe that the reason Keith is in Black is not precisely because of the bond paladin/lion, I think it’s more of character development and a way to show that someone as Keith, who had so many problems in his life, a rough childhood and many other hard experiences, can get to the spot of being a relatively good leader and prove to others that he isn’t just a hotheaded, heartless emo nor an evil Galra. In few words... Keith is in the black lion to prove himself to others, not because of a strong bond. Also, we might consider the deep bond he has with Shiro as a connection to the black lion, maybe the black lion is thankful to him because Keith saved Shiro countless of times when the lion couldn’t do it because their bond was broken since Shiro died.
To be honest I didn't like the lion switch from the beginning and still do not like it. I felt like the bonds in the first two seasons were the deepest, thou I'd have liked more of that for Hunk. Besides doesn't that mean that Allura lied in the pilot episode?
Michael X Not exactly, I think it was more of a change of situations. The situation at that moment was really precarious, the black lion was completely unresponsive because of the loss of its paladin and the appearance of a new enemy. The lions didn’t had another choice but to go with the other person they felt the connection with, Keith with black since his bond with Shiro and Lace with red since he possessed some of the qualities he needed, Allura in the other hand had blue instead of red because she was completely new and the blue was like... the mother lion? (Cause this lion is more of a guide) In season 3 we see how Allura bonds with blue due to the situation at the moment, being able to connect maybe not a deep as Lance, but sharing a strong enough bond to get new weapons, etc. Keith I already explained its purpose with the black lion and reason to their bond, while Lance... is a bit tricky. I think we haven’t yet seen the whole potential of Lance and the red lion bond, we only got a hint at season 7 when the lion came to save its paladin, showing that they didn’t had the strongest bond at the beginning but they’re getting there slowly. Also another fact to consider is the original paladins, obviously the lions had their strong connection with them, but due to the situation, they had to be send away, not being allowed to go and protect their paladins because the lions, having a conscience of their own, knew the risks and the current situation with war and their importance to it.
Tbf - vld doesn’t have the best pacing so I think it’s possible. Whether it’ll be well executed is another issue. But I agree with the rest of your comment. I miss the OG line up so much. Shiro didn’t cage fight Zarkon for Keith to just waltz on in and assume the position post S6, it feels unearned. Plus Lance and Blue are my OTP.
I feel like there is some foreshadowing for Lance dying. Keith's answer in the feud episode, Lance dying once before and him closing his eyes to accept death while he was saving Veronica. And I heard a voice clip of him saying "I love you. I love all of you" with a light cry at the end that seemed a little suspicious.
Lord have mercy on me with this new season. I honestly don’t know what to expect. But I’m ready to start tearing my hair out. (All I hope, and really want at this point, is for my ship to AT LEAST get some valuable screen time.)
I always saw that line of coran's about rewriting the show and only keeping shiro as a play on how the show was rewritten and kept everyone but Sven, who was replaced by Shiro.
Okay I have a theory So in the episode monsters and mana shiro’s “ master” die’s. I believe this is foreshadowing to Adam dying and Shiro being sorry that he left him. Maybe this is also what is going to happen in season 8...hopefully....please...I’ll go home now:
I think Keith will join the blades again after they defeat Haggar or maybe reason with her? I dont think Haggar is truly a villain she's only bringing back altea the way she knows how. Keith being the galra emperor makes no sense and I don't think he would want that tainted position. If lotor is still alive (from the trailer it looks like it) maybe he will still rule? Keith cant be emperor if lotor is still alive. Keith working with his mom abd kolivan to rebuild the blades is a foreseeable end point for him.
I can see the MFEs being the new paladins, but I hope that the original paladins are the MAIN Idea with this season. I hope that maybe in the last episode, you see them switch or something.

I really hope they don’t replace the paladins. I don’t know why, but replacing them would just be incredibly weird in my opinion. If there was a spin-off or something and they did that, well okay. My problem with it is is that we’re on the last season. We just got introduced to the characters, and it would be pointless to have the paladins just be replaced without reason. (Unless there was one of course.) We’ve been with the same paladins for a while, and replacing them in the last season wouldn’t be right in my opinion. I wouldn’t mind it if it did happen, but I wouldn’t enjoy it as much. (There’s also my opinion on James, Ryan, and the others. I just find them kind of popping it into the blue? I wasn’t really interested in them too much if I’m honest. They were cool, but I feel as if they were a little bit rushed in? Put it that way, I know they did build up backstory featuring them too. I don’t know, I just don’t favor them as much as the original. That’s likely because I’ve watched Voltron through every season and gotten attached to the characters.)

I think that Galra emperor Keith has high chances of happening, but I don't think that's what he needs. He is a great leader, yes, but his whole character development is about getting closer to people, not putting himself on even bigger distance by being the emperor. Look at Zarkon and Honerva, they were in love and they are leading, not knowing stuff about their past. Keith becoming the emperor would put him on distance with all the people he was learning to be open with for years. He wants to be part of a group and wants to have bonds with other people. What he needs is someone to love him. Although, "he's our LEADER and he's half GALRA, so I think he's like, the FUTURE" really sounds like he'll get to be the emperor, I don't think that is what his character needs. He learnt to be a great leader, but he still has problems connecting to people, we see that in his conversation with Hunk. Anyways, thank you if you took your time to read this. And Keith has gotten close to people. He’s gotten close to his mother and Kolivan. So it’s easy to say, that Keith can get close to galra‘ was opposed to humans, with Shiro being the exception

So Keith being emperor... I can see that. But that would also mean he’d have to kill Honerva as well. I feel like the fandom kinda forgot she was still empress, and that even though a new emperor was chosen while she was alive, it doesn’t mean that she wouldn’t try to keep her throne. In the NYCC trailer we also say Keith getting electrocuted and piloting his Lion straight to Honerva’s robot, so this may hint at the throne conflict?

To be fair, you would have to have Galra blood in order to claim the throne according to the Kral Zera (I probably butchered that name; sorry). Keith therefore could contend for being emperor. At best, Honerva would probably have a royal title like "Prior Galra Empress Honerva" or something of that nature.

Her only relation to the Galra was through her marriage to Zarkon. She doesn't actually have the Galran throne at all. The last one who did was Sendak, who was killed by Keith. So it's either that the Galra are leaderless or just willing to follow an illegitimate ruler (which for all their pride seems unlikely).
It's like monarchies in real life; if a royal marries a non-royal and the royal dies, the spouse does not inherit the throne; it passes to the next available person in the royal bloodline. This even stayed true with Queen Elizabeth having no heirs, where she passed the throne to Prince James of Scotland.
Therefore no, if it works similarly, Honerva doesn't have any stake on the throne and it could easily be passed to Keith.

However, all I'm saying is that they probably won't just 'give' him the throne. My theory is that it’s sort of backwards foreshadowing. Like lance remains as Keith’s right hand whether he stays on earth or stays or Voltron or leads the galra or blade of marmora. So he sort of does spend eternity with Lance

Zak Sharaz I agree with Keith not having an strong bond with the black lion as Shiro does, but I believe that the reason Keith is in Black is not precisely because of the bond paladin/lion, I think it’s more of character development and a way to show that someone as Keith, who had so many problems in his life, a rough childhood and many other hard experiences, can get to the spot of being a relatively good leader and prove to others that he isn’t just a hotheaded, heartless emo nor an evil Galra. In few words... Keith is in the black lion to prove himself to others, not because of a strong bond. Also, we might consider the deep bond he has with Shiro as a connection to the black lion, maybe the black lion is thankful to him because Keith saved Shiro countless of times when the lion couldn’t do it because their bond was broken since Shiro died.
To be honest I didn't like the lion switch from the beginning and still do not like it. I felt like the bonds in the first two seasons were the deepest, thou I'd have liked more of that for Hunk. Besides doesn't that mean that Allura lied in the pilot episode?
Michael X Not exactly, I think it was more of a change of situations. The situation at that moment was really precarious, the black lion was completely unresponsive because of the loss of its paladin and the appearance of a new enemy. The lions didn’t had another choice but to go with the other person they felt the connection with, Keith with black since his bond with Shiro and Lace with red since he possessed some of the qualities he needed, Allura in the other hand had blue instead of red because she was completely new and the blue was like... the mother lion? (Cause this lion is more of a guide) In season 3 we see how Allura bonds with blue due to the situation at the moment, being able to connect maybe not a deep as Lance, but sharing a strong enough bond to get new weapons, etc. Keith I already explained its purpose with the black lion and reason to their bond, while Lance... is a bit tricky. I think we haven’t yet seen the whole potential of Lance and the red lion bond, we only got a hint at season 7 when the lion came to save its paladin, showing that they didn’t had the strongest bond at the beginning but they’re getting there slowly. Also another fact to consider is the original paladins, obviously the lions had their strong connection with them, but due to the situation, they had to be send away, not being allowed to go and protect their paladins because the lions, having a conscience of their own, knew the risks and the current situation with war and their importance to it.
Tbf - vld doesn’t have the best pacing so I think it’s possible. Whether it’ll be well executed is another issue.
But I agree with the rest of your comment. I miss the OG line up so much. Shiro didn’t cage fight Zarkon for Keith to just waltz on in and assume the position post S6, it feels unearned.

I feel like there is some foreshadowing for Lance dying. Keith's answer in the feud episode, Lance dying once before and him closing his eyes to accept death while he was saving Veronica. And I heard a voice clip of him saying "I love you. I love all of you" with a light cry at the end that seemed a little suspicious.

I think Keith will join the blades again after they defeat Haggar or maybe reason with her? I dont think Haggar is truly a villain she's only bringing back altea the way she knows how. Keith being the galra emperor makes no sense and I don't think he would want that tainted position. If lotor is still alive (from the trailer it looks like it) maybe he will still rule? Keith cant be emperor if lotor is still alive. Keith working with his mom abd kolivan to rebuild the blades is a foreseeable end point for him.
I can see the MFEs being the new paladins, but I hope that the original paladins are the MAIN Idea with this season. I hope that maybe in the last episode, you see them switch or something.

I really hope they don’t replace the paladins. I don’t know why, but replacing them would just be incredibly weird in my opinion. If there was a spin-off or something and they did that, well okay. My problem with it is is that we’re on the last season. We just got introduced to the characters, and it would be pointless to have the paladins just be replaced without reason. (Unless there was one of course.) We’ve been with the same paladins for a while, and replacing them in the last season wouldn’t be right in my opinion. I wouldn’t mind it if it did happen, but I wouldn’t enjoy it as much. (There’s also my opinion on James, Ryan, and the others. I just find them kind of popping it into the blue? I wasn’t really interested in them too much if I’m honest. They were cool, but I feel as if they were a little bit rushed in? Put it that way, I know they did build up backstory featuring them too. I don’t know, I just don’t favor them as much as the original. That’s likely because I’ve watched Voltron through every season and gotten attached to the characters.)
But why would they need new paladins if they will save the day?

I think that Galra emperor Keith has high chances of happening, but I don't think that's what he needs. He is a great leader, yes, but his whole character development is about getting closer to people, not putting himself on even bigger distance by being the emperor. Look at Zarkon and Honerva, they were in love and they are leading, not knowing stuff about their past. Keith becoming the emperor would put him on distance with all the people he was learning to be open with for years. He wants to be part of a group and wants to have bonds with other people. What he needs is someone to love him. Although, "he's our LEADER and he's half GALRA, so I think he's like, the FUTURE" really sounds like he'll get to be the emperor, I don't think that is what his character needs. He learnt to be a great leader, but he still has problems connecting to people, we see that in his conversation with Hunk. Anyways, thank you if you took your time to read this. Season 8 will end me, rip my good grades

And Keith has gotten close to people. He’s gotten close to his mother and Kolivan. So it’s easy to say, that Keith can get close to galra‘ was opposed to humans, with Shiro being the exception
