Oh my! My Sicilian great grandmother taught my grandmother to make these. She put toasted pignolis and raisins in the filling. They were always such a treat and caused a fuss over who was the favorite grandchild! If my brother was around she would make them. It was always the family joke. I don’t think the Arborio rice was readily available which made them much more complicated to make. No one except my mom years later attempted this but she used Arborio rice. I have the recipes but have always been intimidated to try it.. Seeing your video has given me the confidence to give it a go! I am so excited to bring that family tradition back. Hello Mary Anne! Thank you so much! Passata di pomodoro is uncooked tomato purée. It’s usually in a glass bottle with a wide mouth and most italian specialty carry them. You can also use plum tomatoes but please use a blender or immersion blender to purée them before cooking. Hope this helps. Be safe and let’s keep cooking together. 💚🤍♥️🥰
