Didn’t even know eBay had new heads for chevys . I need to search for some Mercedes heads for older models obviously. Now the older v8 models are getting cheap & so are parts for them .
These are really good heads and parts you've listed, I've done the same setup on two 383 builds. I priced out your list, and it comes to just over 1000 bucks. Another option would be the AFR Enforcer heads @ $595 per head. You get everything you listed, including the 8 mm stem valves that AFR uses in all their heads, including the top full cnc race ones. Just a thought, I know it's 200 bucks more, but they do an amazing set up on these fully assembled heads! Thanks for making this video, it took me a week to source all the right parts for my DNA heads, and they were perfectly machined, as you said!!
yup those AFR Enforcers are nice, I think that's what these are based on. Some say they're the same head just rough and not gone over. but who knows. Either way I'd feel much better getting a set assembled by AFR than an assembled set of ebay heads! On this build I wanted to start from scratch and see what i could do. Went a little spendy on some stuff, definitely could have went cheaper. Glad you enjoyed the video!
the AFR enforcers are no longer "$595" they are 624.45, and thats just the 195CC heads after tax (in KY its .06 cents on the dollar) $1,323.83 and these No name heads can be built for 950~ish
i'm using similar (if not the same) heads on a 99 vortec 350 roller rebuild. The store I bought the heads from says that they require offset rocker arms but they do not specify the offset. Do you happen to know what it is? probably going to be sending my block off to get bored 30 over around the end of this month, so I have plenty of time to save up for parts. thanks for the helpful videos
Know what size valves it's set up for? Usually offset rockers are for big valves on the intake side. But they do sell them, summit has some. Instead of a straight arm, the arm is a little off to the side to make sure you're still getting a straight push on the valve tip.
On this build I didn't do a valve job. Heads came with a basic 3 angle and mating 45 degree seals them up fine after some lapping. Definitely could get a valve job done for better performance but this combo works fine with off the shelf parts! 👍
amazing video, More or less how i built mine, the only difference is I went with ERSON stainless valves, and a full comp cams valve train (Springs, locks, retainers, and cups)
I heard AFR was importing all their castings from china now anyway, that Steve Sun has a superior foundry and he was casting heads for Edelbrock who then would put a USA label on them until they got caught. Is this true?

Oh heck yeah! Diving into a new episode!
I love how the install tool for the seals is basically just a socket. 😊
Its pretty close isn't it!

outstanding!! wrking on set of vortex head's
Thank you! Awesome, I want to do some of those soon. what is the engine going in?
@@diveingarage it's a 76 350. out of a Jimmy.
First timer, but do the valves match the machining on the heads?

Good to hear from you brother. How's that engine running??
@@diveingarage Bluegrass express's engine is running Beautifully! Been to several Shows this year, hopefully next years power tour is on the table!
Awesome! Glad to hear
Good stuff. +1

I've heard about the Steve Sun heads. Need to do some research, when I find out I'll do a video on it
I screwed up 😮 . I didn’t measure my beehive spring correctly. What problem will result ?
Wrong seat pressure one way or the other. Been there. Easy fix tho!
Do you have to have ebay use cylinder head resurfaced when you buy them
Nope. I didn't.
stock length valves or longer ?
Stock
Bro my power pack heads have a 3 angle valve job and there 65cc heads lol
Yup good heads. Anything vortec and newer outflows those tho. That's why i like these, good flow, screw in studs, aluminum.
