I really like desktop as I can upgrade as per my need and budget. Plus for gaming desktop is best as it gives cooling. One more advantage is its easy to replace the individual parts if there is any issue in it. In laptops it's not Dat easy to do the assembling

I'm using a laptop that always stays on the cooling pad, Lapi is connected to Display and other peripherals whenever I feel portability it works. In the case of a laptop, we can upgrade RAM up to the limit and SSD if it's sara.

I think I will go for both:
I will buy PC set for all the heavy purposes which may be in budget cost
And a cheaper and good laptop where I will do very light job as typing and keeping some documents only and a portable HDD for carrying data.
In short, a cheap laptop which I will carry very few times and a better PC for all light and heavy tasks.

I personally use a high end desktop but all the time we have to clean it and setup and all that sort of stuff which if not done time to time can affect the life and performance of the computer but as trakin stated if you want piece of mind you can consider a laptop and I am soon going to shift from computer user to laptop user as my works seems more on portability as I have to work more than 12 hours a day and cant spend more than half a day at one piece of the world...
Same WFH and portability issue, I started with laptop and then switched to desktop but now due to office meetings I am purchasing a laptop but as you mentioned cleaning is peace of mind in laptop but it is not true because you have to open the full laptop if there is only a display issue due to ram or bios where as in desktop just open 2 screws and reset the ram/bios in 2 min but it take 15-20 min for doing this in laptop. Also, cleaning take hardly 5 mins in pc whereas expect 15 mins to open the screws of the laptop then next 10 min to clean the outer layer of the laptop and then open more screws in laptop to reach the cpu/GPU and finally next 30 mins to assemble the laptop again if you didn't forget the process. So, even if you go for an outside service it will cost you Rs 500-1000 with 60 mins of time. Not cleaning the laptop will never work on its full potential as a desktop.

Talking about the life of a desktop, I'm using the same desktop since nursery. Now I have cleared class 12th. We have upgraded the components a few times but my whole childhood I have only used a single desktop. Isn't that crazy?

I am thinking of buying a laptop this year because I will give class x board this time and I will need a laptop after that. I prefer laptops for many reasons ; 1) Portability , 2) Simple user interface , 3) Low power consumption , 4) Easy to use , 5) Low Price , 5) Features and many more . . . . And you said that laptops cannot be upgraded but nowadays most of the laptops above 30k have upgrade options and laptops have RGB keyboards and features like fingerprint etc given which makes it even more convenient to run the laptop , it doesn't matter if the laptop goes out of power as it is given good battery and applications like ms office, windows etc. are preinstalled . I overall think the laptop is more useful aru user friendly than the dekstop because the dekstop is very expensive to make. So My opinion is Laptop is best for All users except heavy pro gamers and heavy pro editor , but I want to know which laptop with good processor etc. between 30k to 40k so that I can buy, please help me. My desktop is 9 year old now it has i7 4770k cpu, asus z87 pro mbd, amd radeon r7 gpu, 1Tb hdd seagate barracuda SATA, gskill rijaws (16x2) 32gb ram corsair cx750 power supply. I had replaced corsair cx750 once. My pc transitioned from a gaming pc to a workstation but it is still running smooth using Windows 10 22H2 since 2022. No lags yet its been 9 years. Recently changed Cmos battery Cr2032 doesn't cost much.
Always I will prefer a desktop for its performance and also value for money 🖥️

One more point to buy a laptop over a desktop....In desktop you have to clean not only the hardware but also the desk, the CPU cabinet, the wire cables on a regular basis and it becomes a big problem if you have a small room..

Expandability in ram and ssd does not matter in laptop. You can expand as much as supported by the cpu and gpu in a laptop. Only difference which is worth it is performance. Laptop=less performance , desktop=more performance. Life is more or less same because after 5 years all devices are almost obsolete.
Life expectancy always depends on how we take care of it, for example i have purchased a Dell Inspiron 3000 series laptop on MAY 2016, it is still running like new, because i regularly clean the fans and internal hardware and also change thermal paste in time, recently i have upgraded the RAM & from HDD to SSD, now the performance is at its peak and smooth as butter.

Last few years has been different for Laptops. Gap between PC & Laptop has been so close. After covid, PC components price was so high & availability was so disguising. If you consider a Gaming Laptop along with PC, you'll take extra headache of every components and it'll cost you more than a Laptop. After combining all components including Monitor, touchpad, battery as well its cheaper now a days to buy a Laptop. Of course there'll be some Difference with PC with Large Chassis, still you'll find it valuable to go for a laptop. Moreover you've got Online offers on sales ☺✌❤

Whereas I had Dell Inspiron 15 3567(2018) I felt like it is laggy so I installed Ubuntu . Now it is working fine for my tasks .
But the problem is that it doesn't support 22.04 LTS so will think of moving to Arch Linux when Im done with practicing installation configuring of it .

I have 45000 budget pc with IPS monitor, Bhai agar apko ek pc chahiye to mei recommend karunga ki khud se apni need ke hisaab se research karo or apne aap build karo or agar build nahi ker sakte to ek list banao apne component ki or uski online price bhi likh lo then kisi badi computer market apke city mei jo ho wahan jao dukaan daro se baat karo or ek build ker lo pc haan yahan pe apko 2000-2500 mehnga pad sakta hai kyoki voh dukaan dar bhi kuch kamana chahega.

cognized video but there's a lot of stuff you will need to take into consideration before coming to the conclusion, I have a decent pc (5600 and rtx 3060, approx. 1.15L, putting together all the accessories I had to get for the pc brings the cost around 1.28L ) and a high end laptop (5900hx and rx6800m, approx., 1.55L), upgradability isn't a big thing people make it seem, if I want to get a rtx 4080, I have to shell out more than the pc itself, and same is the case with cpu and ram (atleast 25k each). While getting a pre built to have to shell out additional premium for the vendors and building one yourself is very much a hustle. I have to clean my laptop every 6months and you won't void the warranty till to peel off any tapped stuff, whereas the pc needs cleaning every 3months. And if want to game, a much better option(personally) is getting a cheap laptop and a console.

If you wanna gameing machine for professional gameing then blindly chose desktop..But you want to casual and modarate gameing then chose gameing laptop.. But the end at same price and same spece desktop will cost more than laptop.
