- There isn’t a ton of videos about the factory soft top, and installation. So I made one. My FJ40 is a Factory Soft Top Model, meaning it came with a top like the one I install today. This top is aftermarket, but it follows the same design and mechanisms. I picked a hot day to do it, it’s what I imagine the inside temp of a kangaroo pouch. 105 degrees. Anyway, enjoy the episode.

When we ride in kangaroo pouches as kids, it's hot and humid but there's always roo milk available to keep you hydrated so it's not that bad. Beats walking to school!

I don’t drink water when it’s hot. Eventually you stop sweating just before heat stroke. Problem solved….your welcome
😆 I was supplementing those sweat glands in between takes… with energy drinks. 😉

They’re hard to come by now man. The lady who makes these doesn’t do it anymore, so it’s eBay or custom $$$&

You captured my frustration with installing my soft top. I do like those removable windows you have! May have to send mine for a modification… Let me know how you like the magnets, mine is strap based.
I actually had my upholstery buddy add the straps. The magnets were alright, but I wanted the straps. Frustrating install is my game bro, every time!

Soft top looks awesome! Are ya gonna put some form of roll bar in it?? I reckon you'll probably die pretty quick without it.
My hardtop BJ42 doesn't have one and it concerns me, let alone just having those 3 bows protecting your head!

What year is your BJ40? You done any modifications to it?
My Bj40 is 1974, I just had the engine overhauled. coming soon more economically I want to renew it, it took me 10 years to get the bj40, I want to stick with it for the rest of my life. Hope you can help me find the parts so that I can restore the car to the best possible condition. Thank you for sharing.
