I don't know about anyone else, but when the mom claimed she was sabotaging Emma's business to help her husband, I wanted to shout "you did it because you couldn't stand to see your "stupid" daughter succeed over the rest of you". Maybe the end showed that wasn't exactly true, but the mom and sister treated Emma like she wasn't even part of the family and refused to talk out their disagreements. That's not how a healthy or happy family functions. The mother behaved terribly and I hope she spends the rest of her life making it up to her family, especially Emma.
The reason why this story is stupid (and it really is in some way) is because of how its teaching children to pretty much don't have any aspirations to pursue. I'm not saying that Emma's invention would be a real world changer, but there's no need to put her idea down just because of the impact it seemed to have on her father's business, or anyone else's employment, for that matter. And the mom and sister are just the worst: I'd the expect the sister to be ignorant, but the mom should know better than to sabotage her own daughter from achieving what she loves. Especially if the other sister had aspirations, but the mom would allow HER to do what she wants. If I was making something and it was a big success, I wouldn't cease and desist it because of whom it seemed to be hurting, even though I don't have the original intention to hurt anyone. It's not her fault her father's company was a failure.
Children are to be loved equally, not separately!! Never play favorites in your family!! It destroys the core value of what family is all about!! and for my opinion she shouldn't forgave her mom that easy. What a ridiculous story 😏
