The intercity 225 sets still feel quite modern in 2022
Nice review thanks. Just a correction. 225 km/h is 140 mph which is what those trains were designed for. However, line speed is limited to 125 mph or 200 km/h.
Ahhh thanks for letting me know that 🙂
Great video
I'd personally still take an Azuma over an intercity 225 for other reasons, I prefer their first class seats over the ic225 ones, plus I find their ride quality to be a bit smoother than the ic225s and my ears don't pop (im kinda sensitive to that) when i go through a tunnel because of the pressurised cabins. But its just personal preference at the end of the day. I love the ic225s as well, I would take either of an ic125 anyday of the week.
Keep up the good work, you'll be hitting 1000 soon!
Brilliant video I totally agree with you 225 are best trains and I miss hst lner use run up north up to Scotland
Great video Daniel. I think 225 sets are really good trains and they still keep them very safe 👍
Great video,
Thanks
To be honest they are better than the Azuma sets I recall also the class 89 being used with the mark 4 coaches and dvts to be honest the class 89 was on a par with the class 91 for performance and acceleration
Is there any reason EMRs 158/159s look like SWR old livery
They were both ran by the same company (stagecoach) before they switched hands to EMR don't know if they'll repaint then though.
@@danielstripreports oh ok thanks sorry for late reply
Is LNER still going to keep them or will they be sent for scrap. The Intercity 225 still lives on.
I think they still keep them
@@arnoldspottingvideos5269 Sounds good
Apparently with the 2023 May timetable change they'll be sent for scraps, but I'm unsure on that, they are repainting a few Mk4 coaches though, which could mean they want to keep them for a few more years!
True.
They're starting to repaint the 225 sets with a intercity/ azuma livery. With the time and money being spent on doing them I highly doubt they're getting rid of them.
