Such good and caring parents. When his mom said everyone loves you,it was so powerful. Also his dad constantly concerned about his son's safety,it all melt my heart. And it's understandable why they had difficulty to accept their son as a gay. As Eric's dad said, they had difficulty settling down in a foreign country, where they knew no one. Also they were black,so he was well aware of the minority stuff too. So it's normal to have doubts But I am so glad they were progressive and they not only accepted their son,but also encouraged him to love himself and be proud of who he was. I wish everyone has that kind of supportive parents.
I really love what they’ve done with Adams character. It’s a very realistic change. Not super drastic like others would be, but you see subtle changes that signify his growth as a person. It makes him more likable.
Sorry but a bully bullying someone for being gay, making their life hell, then suddenly coming out as gay and trying to get with the victim (who just so happens to suddenly like him too). No, no that’s not realistic at all. Especially when the victim already had a boyfriend. Good character growth though
@@ohnono69 There are actually a lot of closeted gay teenagers or even adults who suffer from the same struggle. Hating who they are, envying those who can be themselves unapologetically and chose violence to release their anger.

I was hoping for Eric to forgive him I know Adam actions were terrible but he had so much anger and didn't know how to handle it so did it in the worst possible way but he's a good boy.
Ginette Parada being abused or angry is not an excuse to pick on those weaker than you. He hated being bullied by his dad but bullied those weaker than him. He's not a good boy he could be but right now, he's not. You won't think a 16 year old who bullies your own child and others violently and robs them of their food and money for 4 years is a good kid. Neither is Adam.
I have had sex with a person at night who used to bully me in the school during the day. But he used to be a complete different person when I was alone with him. It was like 10 years ago. Now I have grown adult. But its crazy to think how stupid I was.
I don't think Eric has a difficult relationship with his dad. His dad is the sweetest, he's just so afraid for his son, being gay and black, that's all. Yet he's conflicted since he doesn't want his son to hide whatever he really is.

I really liked how Otis called out adam’s toxic behavior. I feel like as queer people the whole bully to lover thing is kind of a fantasy but it’s important to see abuse where it lies.
It’s a fantasy until it happens. It happened to me in high school with this skater... he was nowhere near insufferable as Adam was but he treated me like shit until it was on his terms away from ppl then he was so incredibly sweet and tender. He’d put his arms around me and I felt safe but truth is he took out his anger about his own issues on me. I wanted him to be happy but that had to end
@@sophie7826 Otis isn’t cruel to Maeve everything he said to Maeve was true. She uses him all the time and constantly expects him to put his problems on the back burner for her
I really really hope adam doesn’t hurt eric anymore, and i really hope what rahim said at the end isn’t foreshadowing..I just want adam and eric to be happy y’all
I am sure in some form or another what Rahim forewarned will play out and that will probably be a huge arc for Adam and Eric, especially Eric to figure out whether or not he did really make the right choice being with Adam after all he'd done in the past. But I personally am super excited to see them play with that because I think it would be a good thing for those in a similar situation to be able to relate and get perspective. There's a lot that can be done with it.
Count me in as well. Truth be told, Adam and Eric have a stronger relationship than Maeve and Otis. So, if Adam and Eric don't start dating I will personally raid Netflix HQ.
@@scoodlemcnoodle7198 Maeve and Otis are so fuckin dumb when they’re talking to each other 💀💀 their relationship is just a cliche that like every show has. The hand holding was a resolution to the final episode of season 1. When Adam reaches out so his hand is near Eric, he wants Eric to hold it. Eric doesn’t. Later, Eric doesn’t let him hold his hand, saying “Rahim can hold my hand”. He finally lets him hold his hand when he realizes that he loves him.

@@ilyj1hyo I'm also bisexual and I still think Maeve and Otis were way better lol. I mean, Adam and Eric's entire relationship was built on all of the abuse that Eric had suffered at Adam's hands for years. Even when Adam tries to admit his feelings to Eric he's still being extremely cruel to him. It all feels extremely Stockholm syndrome-ish to me. Even though Maeve and Otis haven't technically gotten together, they've always been supportive for each other, and they're just overall way less toxic than Adam and Eric (and have more chemistry I think, too). On a side note, I totally get why you liking the enemies to lovers trope influences your opinion. It's a good trope, but I just have the biggest soft spot for awkward nerdy boy balls deep in the friend zone somehow manages to escape it. I think that one's super underrated
@@Lamsus854 that's so so valid (and i completely agree you say about that being underrated because you are totally right) and i know about the bullying stuff which yeah does make the relationship start of being v toxic but i think the character development of adam and him trying to become a better person for eric is amazing and so so adorable :,) but i 100% understand why you'd prefer maeve n otis and i'm glad we can respect each other's opinions :)
This defines me and my partner! I'm sad to say I was a bully when I was younger and I used to bully this very open queeny gay kid in our school. We knew each other since elementary and to this day he's my partner 15 + years. I realized who I was and I apologized and told him that I think I liked him and he forgave me. He's the greatest love of my life! This show did immense justice to kids like me who where too young and dumb to know who we were at the time! As a former recluse sexuality wise, and now I'm proud openly gay man, sex education did this storyline perfectly!!!!!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Netflix! I used the show to explain to our kids how we met, how I was wrong, accepting yourself, forgiveness, and how I found the greatest love of my life. All I can say is well done, because this was me to the T.
I Think Adam really needs this relationship. He has no friends, he lost his girlfriend who he really cared for( no hate on Aimee she is great ) and dont even get me started on his father. The relationship most likely will have ups and downs, with Adam and his self hate, but i Think that sins Eric went through the same, he is just the right person to help Edit: season 3. No spoilers please. Just season 3
@SAHRA OSMAN Adam does have one friend by the end of the show, Ola. She’s not really in here though. And he was working on his self confidence before the end too. I agree with you and hope that no more shit happens to Adam next season 💀 he can’t catch a break
I don't watch the show (but i think i would) but what will happen to Rahim? That's kind of tragic...i mean props to Eric for choosing the guy he wants but if i was in Rahim's position and i had to witness that in person...damn it'd hurt me so bad 💀

Joanna it broke mine too for a sec but this isn't some down on luck character. He literally makes life difficult for others by bullying them but then hates that his life is shit. Meanwhile he makes the lives of others shit.
Ana Quintero I felt bad for second but how the hell did it not occur to him that he had no friends cos he's a homophobic bully? In one episode he said "i have feelings" and that was so laughable cos he never considers that others have feelings. He asked Eric how spitting on him felt to drive home his point that Eric shouldn't have spat on him and it just showed how unaware he is cos somehow he's never considered not bullying those weaker than him cos he hates it when his father bullies him. He's such a hypocrite.
Did anyone notice that when Eric‘s mom was telling him that Rahim was not giving him that sparkle that the song mystery of love played from the movie Call me by your name
The point is Adam could find someone who he didn't bully for years and would therefore be a clean slate and Eric could realise he could do better than be with someone who bullied him for years and that he's a person, not Adam's rehabilitation centre
When Adam said “What did I do wrong?”, my heart broke for him. He was finally believing that he didn’t mess up in something, but the pesky reality always peeks its head.
I wish I noticed it myself because before I even watched the show, the detention scene came up in my recommended for some reason. So I already knew from the beginning. Screw you TH-cam algorithm
I'm glad that Adam is back and that they're together, because i ship them but at the same time a part of me knows that Adam was a bad person to everyone, especially Eric, but now he's trying to be better. Adam is a complicated character and things never go his way, so I'm glad that now he has an amazing friend like Ola and a badass boyfriend like Eric. Their quemistry is undeniable.
I feel the exact same way. While I DO like Eric and Adam together, and admire how Adam redeemed himself, and his friendship with Ola, it seemed that Eric forgave him a little TOO easily. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds for these guys in a possible third series!💘👬🌈
I felt bad for Rahim, as he seemed really nice. However, even Anwar could tell that he wasn't the man for Eric, and that he still had feelings for Adam!
The only problem I had/have with Rahim was the way he kind of dismissed Eric’s religious beliefs because it didn’t seem to be something that was realistic to him. And he can have just gone without saying “I’m an atheist “ to the freakin preacher
That part was definitely uncomfortable lol. But I did like his honesty and how despite not believing he didnt have a problem with them believing. He had and expressed a different experience with religion which lead to his current belief system, which is ok too. If someone can say freely and openly that they believe in GOD someone can also say freely and openly that they dont. I think that honesty is what made Eric say that he loved him right after this. Having different beliefs and still supporting I thought it was beautiful after the uncomfortable part haha. I love how they handled that scene.
Me too!! Plus maeve character is too unrelatable. A teenage, living alone, addicts mom, yet she turned out healthy, smart, can afford books, clothes, makeup? From where? Are foods and cigarettes free in the UK??? I know the show meant for teenagers, it doesn't have to be totally realistic. but the portrait of maeve situation is just not making any sense at all, makes me ignoring her character all together.

While I'm pleased that Adam became a better person over Season 2, and expressed remorse over how badly he treated everyone, it's a little tough to believe that Eric would forgive him and start dating him so quickly. I agree to some extent, but it's important to remember that Eric is a very forgiving character and is also aware of how terrible Adam is treated by his dad.
Aimie said in S1E1 that Adam is really sweet when nobody‘s watching. So i think Eric got it that Adam is a different person than who he wanted to seem to be. Adam needs a real family. Just look how he was happy when Eric‘s mother said he was brave, the word he never got fromhis father.

I love Eric's mum because she knew from day 1 that Rahim wasn't right but as soon as she met Adam, he was welcomed by everyone, including Eric's sister, and was straight away invited over for dinner sometime. It shows how people in your life should make you happy and be your true self but sometimes you might need just a bit of guidance to find it.
When Eric's mom said "You're kinda like a different person when you're around him. Like you're trying to be something that you're not" That is like a punch in the face for me cos I'd been like that in my past relationship
I feel like I ship them because what they had was real, not just physical attraction, they understand each other in other ways, while we can't completely agree with Eric for forgiving Adam so fast, I hope in the 3rd season we get to see more redemption from Adam but also more cute scenes between them showing the world their love pls
Unpopular opinion...I didn’t really like Rahim. He was pretty condescending, especially when he went to church with Eric’s family. It doesn’t matter if you believe in God or not, talking about someone’s beliefs like they are fairytales is super rude. He always acted like he knew everything and I’m glad that Eric dumped Rahim.
It is super rude that religion forced Rahim's family to CHANGE COUNTRIES, if that had happened to you I bet you wouldn't be a big fan of religions. Also he didn't even say anything insulting about Eric's belief, he just asked if he actually believed, then he didn't say anything else about it. How was he condescending exactly?

i really feel bad for adam, he’s got internalized homophobia, a father who he’s scared of, and the only time he’s truly happy is when he’s with eric. everybody deserves second chances and everybody deserves to be happy. Adam’s character development is one of the best thing in this show. i just hope he’ll grow to like and love himself more in s3. as for eric and adam i have this feeling that eric will break adam’s heart rather than the other way around. i hope they don’t do that. we don’t need further toxicity from their relationship. netflix im telling you instead of going in that direction you should just go with Malec from shadowhunters direction. build adam and eric’s relationship and go from there
I really don’t know how I feel about their relationship. On one hand, people change and Adam has gone through a lot of character development. I’m also all for forgiveness and all that. However the whole bully to relationship can be really toxic and can have some weird power dynamics.
Eric's mom was right and I honestly don't really like Rahim. I mean he treats Eric amazingly and all but he always felt one note to me. I just fell like they didn't really flesh him out or put anything to his personality. He's confident, likes books, and likes Eric, but that's it. He doesn't connect w/ Eric that well and like his mom said, he doesn't make him sparkle. I'm glad Rahim was able to make Eric realize how he should be treated in a relationship but I felt that the writers just used him as a tool and then threw him away. And I know Eric and Adam have a really toxic relationship but I hope that Adam can get to a state like Rahim and Eric where he is more confident and shows his feeling more openly (like this season). Although Adam has been toxic, I felt that he really drew out all sorts of emotions from Eric unlike Rahim. Adam can make him laugh super hard, but can also make him cry and I feel like that shows how much they are compatible? Like I feel like the closer you get with someone, the more emotions they can draw from you and Rahim was never able to make Eric feel a whole lot of any emotion at all. (Not saying that Adam should always make him cry. Of course he should for the most part make Eric laugh and be happy, but it shows how much you care for someone if they can either make your extremely happy or sad). He couldn't make him laugh or cry just felt a bit awkward and like Eric was trying to be someone he wasnt, but with Adam he didn't put on a facade. They were just raw w/ each other. I hope Adam continues to grow and they grow to understand each other more. In conclusion, I hope they don't just throw Rahim away cuz I really felt like he was a tool to push the narrative, and I hope next season they flesh out Rahim more like they did w/ Adam. Then maybe I would like Rahim as a character more. And I really really loved Adam's character development though season 2 where he stops ignoring how he bullied Eric and how he opened up to a new friend while also finding himself and letting Eric know that he knows he hurt Eric. It's great that he acknowledged that and I hope they can move forward and continue to acknowledge and discuss it more in season 3.
Adam and Eric are by far the best couple on this show. I've shipped them since the start and i think they also have a better chemistry than Otis and Maeve. I really hope authors won't screw them up in season 3. It would be such a waste....
Eric choosing Adam over Rahim is very realistic. Often we have the perfect guy/girl on paper but they can never be like the person that you have that certain chemistry with, it's just life. People get hurt and move on. Adam took a big chance by running on stage to declare his feelings for Eric that shows he has come to terms with his feelings and hopefully they will be a solid couple in s3 and their storyline will revolve around navigating a new relationship...jealousy, sex, family etc but as a United couple. 🤞
ahh the irony of that ending, ' but I'm not sure he can catch you" after how Eric is in season 3. its funny how Otis and Rahim almost warn Eric about Adam but (spoilers) he's that one that fucks its up. he cheats, and I get that it made him feel 'free' but maybe inside of cheating he should of just said that. also funny that both of his relationships end because he cheats. don't get me wrong, I love Eric but thats a very cruel thing to do twice and have no real consequence.
Exactly. He's an asshole. They cover the fact the he's a serial cheater by saying that he yearns for freedom and stuffs. Then why did he chose adam before this, fully knowing that the guy has issues within himself and is not yet secure with being gay? He's so selfish, only thinking of him 'expressing' his gayness without even wanting to wait for adam to be comfortable in his own skin.
@@asmrlowkey5043 Exactly!!! It's not like he isn't free; he lives his sexuality pretty openly... And i know he means like going out, hang out with queer people, feel the solidarity and freedom queer spaces give, but it was a pretty lame excuse to break up with Adam, he didn't even grief his relationship, for crying out loud! Goes to show how little it meant for him :( he lacked patience and empathy for Adam, which it's pretty ironic, knowing he told his mom right after lol. I hope next season maybe Adam gets closer to someone (probably it'll be Rahim; sadly, cause I don't like him lol), and Eric realizes his mistake
@@diegoib8999 I dont want Adam to be with Rahim too, cause then it would be cliche and messy. Like, please, they dont have to be together just because they're gay right? But i have a feeling the writers are gonna mess that up too. Also, i agree with what u said about Eric wanting to be 'free'. It's not like he's being oppressed. He is free to express himself almost everyday. The time where he has to pretend was just when he visits nigeria. And the fact that he said he's not sorry about cheating to Adam, I was livid. Adam had had so much stuff going on with his life and now his boyfriend needs to do him dirty too?
I loved how Rahim treated Eric and seriously Eric deserved that. But here's the thing, internalized homophobia isn't just a 18 y/o boy feeling weird for liking his classmate. It's a lot harsher and complicated. People who grow up in homophobic household see their parents hating on the Lgbtq community so they naturally fear being a part of it. Even though this doesn't justify all the bullying Adam did, I feel him, and he too, deserves a chance ♡
I just want to say that Adam is one of my faves in this show. And the actor makes a great job in 2 season. I was crying and laughing for no reason almost every time he was on the screen
I don't feel for Rahim at all. Rahim seems to be living in an another world and was quite blunt when Eric needed him to be more personal/less blunt about his family stuff. Rahim wanted them to be boyfriends like an 5th grader.
Hated Eric this season he cheated on Adam and didn’t regret it and he kept pressuring Adam to do stuff which is a crappy thing to do to someone who you supposedly love, I was a bit worried that Eric would go back to rahim but after this I think both adam and rahim are better of without Eric and have started to form a nice friendship together.
Forreal. Just finished the season. I get it. When you're out and proud it's hard to be with someone who isn't. But Eric could have at least given Adam more time.
I completely understand people calling out the toxic relationship between these two, and how it should not be romanticized. But I think this is what the series wanted to do: have us talk about this, debating if this is normal or not. And I think that this will be a major topic in Season 3 (as a renewal in completely obvious).
Tbh even though I would have preferred for Adam and Eric to get together later so maybe like: Adam apologizes, Eric accepts it, they get along better while Eric sees that rahim and him are really not the perfect fit, they break up and Adam and Eric get together - that would have been perfect (that’s why they shouldn’t have rushed it and made them a couple a bit later, bc for us it seems rushed if you binge the 8 episodes even though it might have been a lot more time in their universe itself) But I don’t understand what rahim meant tbh ?
I'm not sure either, but I think it might refer to how Rahim was very open about their relationship while Adam might not be open for public displays? Again, don't know lol
Cartina Stro thought so too at first but I mean he did overcome one of the most difficult things by just confessing in front of the whole school so that shouldn’t be the biggest problem anymore or am I wrong? Also we know that he didn’t have problem with the sexual stuff bc we saw what he did in season 1
What I understood Rahim to mean by "he can hold your hand but, I'm not sure he can catch you" is Adam is going through a HUGE change. He has to go through a lot of self acceptance, and become comfortable in his skin. While he is doing that Eric, which has been the case thus far, has to be there for him emotionally etc. But who is going to be there for Eric when he needs someone? If all the energy is going towards Adam feeling comfortable and accepting himself, Eric doesn't really have the same support back. If you look through the whole series try to name one thing Adam has done for Eric besides the final scene in the final episode. It's always Eric who is there for Adam. So what Rahim meant is, if you fall [eric], who will be there to catch you? Which is a great question.
They're my favorite ship! There's still a lot of growing and developing to do with them and that's basically what makes me excited. I have no idea what to expect!
Exactly! Like, people talking about the "catch" line... IT'S BOUND TO BE A ROCKY ROAD, of course. But relationships are not transactions and I truly hope s3 will explore the difficulties of that relationship while still allowing them to rise victorious and together

I am sure in some form or another what Rahim forewarned will play out and that will probably be a huge arc for Adam and Eric, especially Eric to figure out whether or not he did really make the right choice being with Adam after all he'd done in the past. Later, Eric doesn’t let him hold his hand, saying “Rahim can hold my hand”. He finally lets him hold his hand when he realizes that he loves him.

I think that honesty is what made Eric say that he loved him right after this. i really feel bad for adam, he’s got internalized homophobia, a father who he’s scared of, and the only time he’s truly happy is when he’s with eric. everybody deserves second chances and everybody deserves to be happy. Adam’s character development is one of the best thing in this show. i just hope he’ll grow to like and love himself more in s3. as for eric and adam i have this feeling that eric will break adam’s heart rather than the other way around. i hope they don’t do that. we don’t need further toxicity from their relationship. netflix im telling you instead of going in that direction you should just go with Malec from shadowhunters direction. build adam and eric’s relationship and go from there
All relationships should be modeled off of Malec
I bet Netflix read your comment and said "you know what? imma do this sh*t"

Who Me? Huh??? Announced already???
Adam is my baby...I just want to protect him 😭
YESS
Omg man same
no one:
absolutly no one:
not even a single soul:
Eric: " *BUOIIII* "
I'm like what the hell he wants while he has some naive and great BF like adam. Totally spoiled!!!
Ikr wtf
I'm torn too! One on hand, Rahim is everything! But also, how can you not fall for Adam? Help!
Jeebs Unabia that’s the whole point 😂😂 that’s exactly how Eric felt
So hard to not fall for Adam
I am vulnerable to this kind of guy. Fierce yet fragile
Hey I need to watch this again ,I didn't see this omg !
A BETTER LOVE STORY THAN ROMEO AND JULIET
Agreed, only at least Eric and Adam had a happy ending!😸👬💘
Y'all need help
How the fuck are you gonna compare that to them. You realize they died for eachother right. You gay people are so delusional
Shirbert Fandom why are you watching this if you’re homophobic?
Shirbert Fandom is everything okay at home?
I feel bad Rahim got his heart broken, he was a nice person.
When Eric spits in Adams face and then immediately apologizes just shows how nice a person Eric is
I loved how Rahim treated Eric and seriously Eric deserved that.
I do feel for him he was a good person
@@billiejean685 he is a good person. Beautifully honest. I really liked Rahim.
" Be careful. He can hold your hand, but i'm not sure he can catch you. " omg😍😭
I hope Adam and Rahim does NOT end up together. I just see nothing between them, but I definitely see a very close friendship between them
i would never imagine Erick would be the one that would FUCK EVERYTHING UP aaaaaaaaaa i’m not ok
Who you telling LIKE OMGGG everything was going so goddtt
Tbh even though I would have preferred for Adam and Eric to get together later so maybe like: Adam apologizes, Eric accepts it, they get along better while Eric sees that rahim and him are really not the perfect fit, they break up and Adam and Eric get together - that would have been perfect (that’s why they shouldn’t have rushed it and made them a couple a bit later, bc for us it seems rushed if you binge the 8 episodes even though it might have been a lot more time in their universe itself)
But I don’t understand what rahim meant tbh ?
@@fg4462 That sounds really smart actually
I cannot wait for more Adam character development. They really have so much potential together. It’s very sweet.
When adam sayd "i'm scared"
Bro i was feeling bad :(
🥺🥺🥺
"Come on man not my curly wearly"
Never take a man's curly wearly
We have to wait 1 more year for S3 😭
Why ????
I know, the major drawback of watching this show all in one day is that now we'll have no new content until 2021!😥
Art taketh time bro
Trina Q prolly even 2022
Wait,WHAAT??
I swear if covid-19 delays shooting for Sex Education I am GONNA CRY
8:23 I really wanted to give Adam a hug. : (
Me too
They're my favorite ship!
“He doesn't make you sparke” I love his mon right there.
"im scared, and i think im bisexual."
