I remember an interview with one of the surviving Night Witches. She said that if you dug your finger into the plane, it would tear. They were that flimsy. She was proud of the title Night Witch. She also spoke fondly of a girl who survived seven flights out. Queens. Every single one of them.
Their commander went to look for every single one of her girls that died, because they were being accused of having defected and betrayed their country since they never came back.

This is a band which has earned my deepest respect! I love music, I love history, they combine both my worlds. And the way they do it is just out of this world!
They are, undoubtedly, great musicians and the way they convert stories from history into music is just incredible. Not just they tell stories, they stick to the facts, no bias, no matter which side, they pay respect where respect is due.

Sabaton - To Hell And Back ; Check it out, its about Audie Murphy (1924-1971) the most decorated soldier in US history. Great story.
Soldier of Heaven too, both are very powerful and humbling.

I seriously recommend listening to "White Death". It tells the story of legendary Finnish sniper Simo Häyhä(AKA the White Death). He remains the greatest sniper in history with stories claiming at least 505 confirmed kills.
Tommy Johansson, one of the guitarists, are as we watch this, very active in doing some epic covers of other songs, and making them metal.
And by god he has some good pipes 🤗🤗
His latest cover, The Phantom of the Opera, where he sings BOTH roles himself, is one of the best covers of that song I have ever heard!
When he mentioned Mulan, he should check Tommy's version, but recommends taking it after checking the original and the story, but maybe also check Amaranthe's version (another Swedish band they toured with) (live with sabaton but a slightly changed interpretation on " 82nd all the way " which is about a soldier in WW1)

Sabatons The red baron, Prima Victoria and attack of the dead men are all worth listening to.... and so so many more songs, oh, and cant forget about fields of Verdun, almost check the version you watch since I think most songs has atleast 2 different versions, one with just the music and the other with some history facts displayed during the begining, guitarr solos and endings
Soldier of heaven is another good song and music video by Sabaton. Also the lion of the north and lady of the dark.(English version)
The first Sabaton song I listened was Primo Victoria non official video! The fan video made with "Saving private Ryan " shorts of omaha landings in Normandy France 6th of June 1944. D - DAY. Since then never miss sabaton concert in NYC. See them with original members before Sabaton break out...🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
So glad you're doing more Sabaton - really incredible band! Try a live performance next, how about I Livstig I Krieg (A lifetime of war) performed in Sweden and sung in Swedish, it's about life and loss during the 30 years war and is an amazing performance, I'd recommend turning on captions

If you love the STORIES - one that has a good video and story is "Attack of the Dead Men" - it's a story about WWI wherein the Germans use gas on the Russians and then when the Germans attack, thinking the Russians are all dead, all of a sudden a few of the Russians, covered in blood and howling in anger, the (likely to soon die from Gas) Russians, charged. The Germans were so freaked out (think: Walking Dead vision) they ran away.

Maybe time to check out Tommy Johansson (guitarist in Sabaton) on his own channel? He is absolutely fantastic. For exampel when he take lyrics from a Sabaton song and put it together with disney music. Or his latest update, a cover of Phantom of the opera. And also check out his band Majestica and the song Above the sky. :)

sabaton is almost entirely the reason i will foerever till the day i die respect every member of a military no matter the race, age, sex, nation, etc (as long as they arnt an absolute pos) because most every war is not a fight between the militarys it a fight between countries using the people they have under their command and for the most part you know that every person who has ever gone to any combat espically something such as the world wars does not wanna fight they are just trying to protect their country and family but fighting the war they are in none the less thank you for this reaction loved it
I'm all for these animated story videos, but if you liked this song you need to watch the official live video from The great tour. Sabaton are amazing live. Going to see them at their "Sabaton open air" festival in their home town Falun this weekend. 😁

And actualy, yes, Sabaton is recocnised in their home countrys (Sweden) school history classes and even have been awarder with The Swedish Skeptics Association’s prestigious “Enlightener of the Year Award 2022"
The “Enlightener of the Year Award” is an annual title that began in 1987. It is traditionally presented to academics, authors, journalists and media outlets that go above and beyond what is expected in order to educate people.

For me there are no bad Sabaton songs. All of them are awesome in their own ways. You can have headbangers that are just pure excitement or the ones that reduce you to tears.

This was during the 2nd World War. The unknown stories are of women from Russia also those who were some of the most deadliest snipers. My Aunt who was Polish but joined the Russian to fight the Nazi's was a sniper. We did not get to meet. Her brother who was an officer in the Polish Army and was sent to Siberia at the start of the war. But escaped and joined the Polish Army in Palestine. I too serve for over 20 years in the British Army, on retirement volunteered at a local Military Museum as an Educational Officer. telling these tales of past hero's unknown to a lot of people.
First time watching your vids! If this is your introduction to sabaton, you've got so much more that you'd love! Bismark, the last stand, attack of the dead men, to hell and back, just to name a few.
the very thing that was supposed to be their greatest weakness turned into their greatest strength. the old WWI biplane they were using had excellent glide capability. So when they spotted their target they would cut their engine turning completely silent and glided into their target, drop their bombs then restart their engines to get home.

Joakim, doesn't have your typical beautiful singing voice. But he does have a very special voice, which he uses very aware of his abilities to perfectly fit this music in a way that other arguably better singers couldn't accomplish. It's the same with Till Lindemann. I respect a singer that knows EXACTLY what they are capable of and where their limitations lie even more. To use what others wouldn't consider a commercially beautiful voice in a creative and less ordinary way to fit their own style is even more unique in my eyes. And it's not like Sabaton's music and Joakim's singing aren't beautiful when they want to be.
To accomplish so much with less "equipment" is not unlike what the Night Witches did.
Try to remember to bring it back a few seconds when you pause.
The Yarn Hub Sabaton collabs are always the best.

One of your next reaxtions ought to be "En livstid i krig" live from the Gothenburg tour, it's in swedish but there are captions in english so remember to turn them on. This is one of the best live performances that I've ever seen and the audience participation is magical.

I took German in college. Nacht means night and Hexe means witch. Hexen is plural. Fun fact: all nouns are capitalized in German, not just proper nouns.
Die Nicht Hexan translates to The Night Witches. BRITISH SABATON FAN 💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇸🇪🇸🇪 This happened in WW2 as I know about this story, plus the Aircraft that the Germans flew in the video are from WW2.
