Awesome!! What's the story on it? How long have you had it? I want to get one once I have career money, if I can find a decent one under 20k

I've had it for about 4 years now. I bought it from a guy who rebuilt the motor for $5300. Now mine is not original or in great condition, but it drives and that's all I wanted. For $20k you should easily be able to find a nice driver, maybe even original. I love driving this thing. Currently I'm driving across the country.

@@lemonpaper Across the country?! So do you find it's reliable? Or are you tweaking the carbs and tightening bolts along the way -- I got a MR2 Spyder because I commute to college, love it but the 914 was my original plan 😆🤫

@@MatthewVanceMusic so my car was converted to electronic ignition which is a huge thing in its favor. I dont think it's a seriously difficult project but PO did it not me. The only real issue i had driving across the country was the starter was acting up. I may need some new grounds or something. That said, things have come apart and fallen off before for example the halfshaft bolts once came loose and the thing was flinging around whacking everything breaking the starter and the shift rod. Until recently it was a little like playing whackamole haha I've also replaced rubber seals, but theres enough sagging in the frames to where a heavy florida rain will always make the interior wet. All that said, i wouldnt recommend a 914 as your main car unless you live in a dry place and within biking distance of your college lol

@@lemonpaper I appreciate the honesty, I've always regretted not getting a 914 as soon as I could, but it may be best after college. I worry constantly that they're gonna keep inflating in price. It's now become a trend to have the "ugly duckling" 914. The same Porsche aficionados who said it wasn't a real Porsche, now own them.. 🤷‍♂️(not talking about you of course)
If you can't tell, I'm a bit bitter lolol
I've heard the starter is a common issue, I believe my mom had to hit the starter on her old beetle sometimes, and dry out the distributor cap if it rained 🤣
