The pink and red, one of my fave combos! The Cars album cover is perfection and iconic- took me back to my childhood (I’m an old👵🏼) and that self portrait spread😮is so amazing. Like there are no words. It’s just so cool and the black background makes it pop so hard👏👏👏I’ve become a huge fan of the strathmore mixed media, been using it for a couple years…but I’m so disappointed they don’t wanna sponsor you! Are you kidding me? Wow, they’re missing out on a great opportunity to work with you. Too bad for them😬

I love seeing you explore other mediums. My favorite page was the oil pastel with the orange. It was simple but I love the colour texture and vibrancy
I do like your sketchbook tours, but my favorite kind of your videos is vlogs, especially ones where you do plein air! I will happily watch any of your content, and I hope you feel free to make the kinds of videos you want to make, not just the ones that you think your audience will like. :)

I guess The Cars haven't lost their magic. I recognized that album cover, which you did a very good job of portraying, immediately. I bought that 8 track (oops, I guess I am giving away my age) when it first came out. I was in high school and I only had an 8 track, as that was all I could afford LOL.

I know cold wax medium like Dorland's is a favorite for fixing gouache or even watercolor! And for oil pastels, I've had great luck with decoart duraclear varnish, the matte one! I don't trust sprays for those hahaa

Such a good video as always, seeing your sketchbooks always makes me itch to get mine out. I like that you do so much different stuff in your sketchbooks, and I can see how hard you work to gain as much as you can in learning as you fill it. Thanks for sharing your thinking space so generously with the world.
Honestly despite the downsides I use fixative for sketchbook pastel stuff just to keep it from moving around, since it's gonna be squished together and pressed and the pages will get turned often. I've never thought about putting it on gouache, but I'm very new to that medium, I didn't realise it was prone to moving around! I'm dying to try some different surfaces to make some finished pastel pieces, I know some people even use sandpaper.

If you're looking for a good gouache/watercolor sealant, jacquard dorland's wax medium is a good option. I used it regularly because I use water mediums for birthday and holiday cards and it doesn't affect the paintings in any way and my work place is a very wet place lol

At about 8:20 there is a spread with a pear, a TV, and two characters. The character wearing a green shirt that has blond hair looks like a personified version of the pear, and so I saw it since the other character that's holding that characters face with saying a bruised ego I thought it meant that green shirt was as soft as a pear or that they were quite literally a personified version of a pear. I just wanted to hear my thoughts lol

Use hair spray instead of fixative! Very inexpensive and works really nicely :)
