The reason that it’s a betrayal when Psyche looks at Eros is because it was an agreement at the beginning of their relationship, basically Eros didn’t want her to see him because it could blow her mind in a sense. He also didn’t want to piss his mom off more 💀 There’s more reasoning behind it but thats basically what it boils down to

I am a classicist (I have a degree in ancient history/language) her name “ψυχή” means soul or spirit in attic Greek 🫶🏼 Edit (more info dump): The pose, Eros/Cupid holding her wrist is the wedding scene. It is referencing ancient depictions of weddings (man grabbing or holding woman’s arm).

And your sass during the story recap was perfection 😆 As an aside regarding bowers, I recommend checking out bowerbirds for a smile! The males spend years creating their bowers and collecting whatever they find attractive to try to impress the females. Their collections can vary from flowers to mushroom and even shiny beetles 💜

Isn’t Cupid a male? I’ve been under the impression my whole life that Cupid was a male fairy type creature that goes around creating love matches between male/female couples. I don’t understand why everything in the world is being re-written into being lgbtq to the point where even my little pony is gay.

I think the butterfly wings may have to do with the idea of her transformation or metamorphosis from mortal to goddess
