16:50 you cant do it because Fortnite's Anticheat, Easy Anticheat, which is a Kernel-Level Anticheat doesnt run on linux. Esentially bricking a core component of multiplayer
@@JunkBox_Productions i actually didnt expect you to be able to load the game at all, but i guess the non existent anticheat just freezes you out the game. Makes sense considering you can use windows emulation to run windows apps. Good video none the less. If anything the fortnite part absolutely blew my mind
I haven't tried this in Fortnite but i have in Minecaft PE. Use Waydroid a Android emulator for Linux with inte/amd gpus on wayland. I believe this could work, by using the android version of fortnite .
If you're trying to be a part of the Linux Eco system you gotta try the open source games. and also note that not all games will work especially playing fortnite natively until the company supports Linux hence the anti cheat.

Cool Testing Video, I am just curious about some points. 1. Does it have an SSD or HDD, if it does have only SSD then no problem, but If it has HDD and SSD you want to make it sure that ubuntu is installed on the SSD. 2. Before installing anything always make this command in the terminal sudo -apt update, makes you system up to date. 3. You can see your system info by simply typing neofetch in the terminal. 4. Here's a tip for future reference, I'm sure it's not very valuable on the potato... Use Heroic launcher if you're trying to use Epic Games on Linux. Also Epic doesn't allow Fortnites anti-cheat to run on Linux. They're scummy and blame Valve for it even though it's literally a toggle on Epics side lol
if you check areweanticheatyet, it says that epic did at one point allow the anticheat to run on linux. (November 2nd, 2022 - April 2023~ish (i think))
You can't natively run fortnite on Linux. The anticheat is kernel level and it is not implemented on the Linux kernel. Same goes for Valorant, COD warzone, PUBG, Rainbow 6, Apex Legends.
My experience with Ubuntu on old Lenovo laptop was bad. It have some strange Nvidia GPU, which Ubuntu 24.04 didn't recognized and with nouveau driver Ubuntu stopped responding whenever mouse pointer touched folder's borders. I tried to install 22.04 instead and it worked a lot better, but still no Nvidia driver available for install. I decided to install 20.04 and it recognized GeForce 310M, which I tried to use, but after restarting laptop, Ubuntu couldn't boot at all. I guess using 22.04 could be possible, but I have a grudge against it and using nouveau can be far from good experience in general. Had to install Windows 10 on that laptop...
Heads-up. People will tell you to install a different distro. You'll go through a long phase of distrohopping that's just going to be a waste of time for you trying different distros and setting them up instead of getting work done..I've tried every distro people will mention in your comment section and from my close to 2 decades experience (been doing this since 13) just get a lighter desktop on your computer like lxde through your package manager and you're good. It's much faster than gnome, kde, cinnamon or budgie.
I think OBS is not going to run well even after he installs it correctly as the laptop only has 3.5 GB of RAM. even If he lowers the video resolution, there would no point in recording it.
