    Fun Fact. Maybe US wont be the same as now, if in 1667 Netherland doesn't trade Manhattan with Run Island - Indonesia with British Colonial Govt. And I believe u'll cast in ducth rather than english. 😁

      @MM-vs2et 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah but in 1667 Manhattan was just some backwater swamps. Run Island and the Maluku islands in general were a treasure trove of spices. To quote a Portuguese historian, "Gold was growing in the trees". Even if the Dutch kept Manhattan, the US government would've bought it later on anyways

    • @runejpunk
      @runejpunk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MM-vs2et True. That's why dutch want to trade them. At that time, Spice has more value than gold. Sadly dutch (VOC) tend to squeezing everything till all dried out w/o trying to preserve for the future. Miss management and corruption is VOC best set of skills.

  • @edushare5107

    Is more complicated than that. It’s not just because US bombed japan per se. We already planed and organized the independent long before that time. An organization had been initiated by Indonesian, pro Indonesia-Dutch and pro Indonesia-Japanese. The Nagasaki- herosima bom was the momentum.
    We shouldn’t oversimplified any history facts.
    Pandji presented well to them only he missed the biggest fact that we fight for the independence not given by any countries (without neglecting the favor from few countries who support Indonesian independence)

      Why we shouldn't? If i were Pandji, i would do the same. Why would i bother explaining complete details abt Indonesian history, to a bunch of US citizens? It's not like they REALLY care abt Indonesia.
      and.. It's a comedy podcast anyway.

      @@r.d1339 for context OP “give away” means the independence were given by the grace of their conqueror. Not from victory over a battle. Which I replied it’s not, to elaborate things further, Pandji is actually oversimplifying the independence process. We had a “government” in the shape of political party that were acknowledged by the Japanese governement. These parties were consisted of out founding father and they formed an Independence Comittee (PPKI) which planned to announce the transfer of power from the Japanese to the Republic in 24 August 1945, so the atomic bombing actually only speed it up by 7 days to 17 August. And thus cut our ties with Japan, so we need to defend ourselves by ourselves from Dutch invasion backs by the allies.
