I feel sorry for the Californians that didn’t vote for this stuff. It’s not a surprise people want to move out of state. If I were there I’d find some way of moving my investments and retirement out of state before they enact penalties for doing so…

California is a ridiculous state. I tried to sign up to vote and I'm not a democrat. The state claimed my 100 year old bungalow didn't exist and I had to travel 250 miles one way to the county courthouse if I wanted to get approved to vote. Voting isn't worth that because California is under democrat rule.

The thing to me is, if you invest and have other income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends without selling. Which means you can pass that on to your kids which will give them a leg up in life. $52k dividends received in 2022.
I agree! That's why it is advisable that you have to invest while you still have a regular job or earning a regular income, and do it constantly. You still need to have something that will keep you going even if you're investing. Good financial planning and money allocation is the key.
The best course of action if you lack market knowledge is to ask a consultant or investing coach for guidance or assistance. Speaking with a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my portfolio to about 65% since January, even though I know it sounds obvious or generic. I believe that is the most effective way to enter the business at the moment.

I live in this state. I've been awake my whole life.
This is why i moved from SF to a small republican town in maine. Far away from the crime, drugs and crazy antics. I still get california income and i dont need to lock my doors at night or worry about my car getting broken into. I love my neighbors, despite them being ultra religious they will always come over, offer help on my car, bring me cakes and pies...just really nice people.

I live in CA buying 5 acres in the back country. I am off the grid & intend to stay that way. Nevertheless sharing income info with any product provider is incredibly scary & a privacy violation!!
They'll make it law that if you have property or a residentce, you will have to be on the grid.
I heard you have to permit and pay a $400. a year fee for your well water.
In Ohio, they made county ordinces to make money on septic and well inspection. Inspectors get 3 weeks of training. Most still have no idea what their looking at. I suspect California is worse.

I left California over twelve years ago and I didn’t want to. I felt like I was forced out because of the bureaucratic craziness.

I love California beautiful state I love Oregon beautiful state. But when I left California in 1997. I could see the changes happening. And that’s why my daughter and myself came back to Mississippi. My lowest electric bill of the year is 350 dollars and I live in a 1000 sq ft bungalow. The prices are outrageous. I am also retired so I don't have much money.
Anyone that choses to stay in California after retirement needs to take a long hard look at life and just get out.
@@Acill Actually there are ways to turn it to your advantage if you're in the right city. Working in Cali is bad because very few people can make enough money to survive, but if you're like me and inherit a paid off house in less expensive parts of Cali like in the Inland Empire area, you can live fairly good. Retirement income isn't taxed like earned income. If you live in the tristate area, you have the best of all worlds because you shop in Arizona or Nevada and still get the medical benefits of California.
Just move out to another state.

Glad I left California a couple years ago. It’s going to encourage more people like me to go to another state. They are driving the middle class and several companies out of the state. I’ve worked with all of the big utilities in California and quite a bit with the CPUC. I’m happy I’m not doing that anymore, as I’m sick of their politics.
These legislators need to be sued for over all the unconstitutional policies and the over taxation they keep on implementing in this State. It is called equity. Everyone ends up the same no matter how hard they work Feds have a program too. Everything you own , stocks, bonds, real estate, bank accounts, is actually owned by some fed government entity , cannot remember the name, but we are considered unsecured creditors. They can take all anytime they want. Life savings will be gone, no pension, 401k, stocks, bonds, bank accounts, and if we are lucky, given some meager monthly payment. Digital dollar is first step.

Income redistribution has been going on for nearly 50 years against the middle class and poor. I don't understand the Brutality involved in making fortunes and not paying taxes or employees, generally not caring about anything but self. It's actually pretty sick and disturbing.

I left Cali in the early 90s, and have resisted the temptation to return several times. The California of my youth in the 60s/70s no longer exists, and probably never did. It was, however, lovely then. So sad to see what it has become and how it has descended into madness and corruption over the decades.

As if the price per homes wasn't enough. Now a higher utility. I thought this was regulated by the Utilities Commissions the Water and Power or DWP. In through out the cities and counties.

What I haven't heard or read is how the Franchise Tax Board can LEGALLY blab your income from your income tax filing to anyone let alone privately-held companies. And he's right about a disgruntled employee at those companies further blabbing your personal information, how does CA plan to stop that aspect?

They do that with my healthcare plan premiums in Maryland. Three brackets with different premiums. Those with an annual salary over $105,000 pay the highest premiums for the same coverage. It’s not a separate plan, only one is offered.
