With the room under the stairs one, it might be too low for sims to walk through, but I wonder if we can make it a pet area. Doggie bed and some toys and have a nice little area for the dog.

I was about to type this or like a little kitty room do they give you cat doors like you could raise cats and run like an adoption center and rehome kittys!

It should work, I got rooms and hallways under the stairs to work before. Maybe it needs "real walls" around it instead of the stair generated ones? Gotta test again too! 😅
Edit: Just tested it and for me it's the stair generated walls that block the Sims. If you delete the stair walls and put half walls or walls around the stairs, it works. Not gonna look the same as in the Tik Tok, but doesn't look bad either!
You have to delete the default room that is made under the stairs then put regular walls around it, then it should work as intended. The sims ways are blocked because they recognize the path being blocked because there are "two" walls, even though the doors/archways cuts through.

Exactly! My sims aren’t allowed to use sinks any anymore🙃
The downside to the camera hack is that it messes up the basement camera. If you go to the basement, it'll stop the camera from going any lower than about ceiling height, which I find pretty frustrating. I guess it just comes down to which way you want the game to make you mad.
Thanks for pointing that out! I never use basements, so it won't be a problem for me, but that is good to know!

definitely doing the camera bob hack! For the room under the stairs, I wonder if you have to put a platform under the stairs and leveled down one in order to access that little TV room. I think I'm going to try that.
I have done little walk ways / rooms under stairs before, and they always worked. 🤔Maybe it's not tall enough at the door bit?

The hack at 14:41 is functional. It's just that you have to properly angle the chairs used as cushions. It's a bit fiddly. The hack also work if you just remove the chair cushions.

A tip for the window nook with chair pillows: to make it playable just arrange the chair pillows to one side. You might be able to do one or two on each side, no more. The sims need a place to sit unobstructed. You can use a chair sized down for this, too.
As for curtains they need to be far enough away for your sim to pass beneath them. You can pull the walls on each side out one more square.
To avoid the curtains clipping to the walls either remove the walls, and replace them after you place the curtains OR place curtains by raising them from the basement.
Create a basement directly beneath your nook area. This way you won’t need to pull the walls out another square. Place your curtains on the basement wall below and raise them to the height of your walls in the room above. Be sure to add lighting so they won’t be dark.
Another alternative to curtains is a simple spandrel!
The camera thing is so cool, but I am horrified to mess around with code. I don't wanna break stuff.

Add a fireplace instead of television, and you'd have a perfect romantic spot for a couple. I'm thinking of doing that hack in a cabin in Mt K. Thanks for this tutorial!
For me to make it work for the room under the stairs (just doing it outside not in a build right now) i put walls walls all the way around enclosing it raising it up one and deleting the inner wall were the second arch is the can sit on sofa and enter no problem
what if we combined the sink hack with the ottoman hack? placed the counters on basement level to make the ottoman functional?
The fountain looks really cute. Great for a courtyard.
2:07 I like this! Could definitely do that with the raised platform underneath to bring the fountain up a little and fill out the corners with a little movebojects and sized down plants or something. I think it'd look pretty good in a commercial lot or modern park of some sort!
Bit of a tip for anyone struggling with free placing items with move objects, try changing your view so that you're looking at it from the top. It's not fool proof it just helps to lessen that annoying snapping when placing items near walls.

I saw the under stair room awhile ago and tried it and was so sad my sim couldn't use it. However if I want to teleport a sim into a secret room and "forget" about them I now know how to build something interesting 😈

I've never been successful putting anything under stairs, even with tall wall height. Best I could do was a toilet.
For the ottomans in the alcove, I suspect you can make the ottomans functional if you place the kitchen cabinets in a basement and then use 9/0 to adjust the height they are on. You'd going to need to play with the lighting and such, though.
The last one makes you feel like a hacker or a computer programmer lol

I got it, so use stairs without the cover under it, like use the stairs you can see straight through n I raised the wall up tall, n it will be functional😅

While the camera hack one is nice i do believe that game updates reset all files back to original state, so you'd have to redo that hack after every update which is a bit tedious to remember and do.
I tried to do the camera bob trick but my computer said I didn't have permission to edit the file??? Ig EA hates fun

The only time ive seen the kitchen counter window seats in game, everything about it had clipping issues. It was kinda of annoying sadly because the look is cute

As someone who sometimes builds houses for my sims, and my friends, I may actually use that cheat. I try to put windows and it moves while I'm trying to move to put Windows on the 2nd floor and its ANNOYING
