there’s no way to actually lock apps. what you’re doing with this is making a shortcut, and the password is only requested if you open the app through the shortcut. the app can still be opened through app library or spotlight search

Open shortcuts app>automations>create personal automation>app>select youtube>run shortcut (one you created)> turn off ask when running>now itll run the shortcut when you open YT. You may need to remove the part of the shortcut where it says "open app", as the automation does that for you

Q.) Does this method work for apps in your App Library?
A.) Unfortunately, I don’t think this passcode method can block apps in the App Library.
However, there’s a way to technically lock apps in the App Library by using the automation feature in shortcuts where you can set a timer for a second after an app is opened. Afterward, it’ll close the application out, and you’ll be forced to put in either your passcode on your Lock Screen or your face id.
Also, the time limit method is good for adding another layer of security to apps in your App Library. But the drawback with this method is that someone can still access the app without a passcode for a minute.
Lastly, I would suggest that if you're using the shortcut app to lock specific apps on your phone, go to the screen time section in settings and make it so that you can’t delete apps on your iPhone, as someone can delete the shortcut app and all of your apps won’t be locked anymore.
