I'm 1800 blitz and rapid on lichess and have had success with it in blitz. Haven't tried in rapid. Plays just like the e6 lines of the other Blackmar-Diemer type gambits on the channel. When you say your opponents aren't "falling for it", I assume you mean aren't giving you a cookie cutter kingside attack, but what specific lines are you facing?
I started playing this and have much better results against the french than anything I've tried before including the advance, two knights and orthoschnapp gambit because I feel like alapin doesn't solely rely on tricks like some other gambits, you get a straight forward kingside attack for which the open f file is really helpful.
its been about a year but "he has an extra pawn but i have an extra king" lmfao
Black though, had 69.9% ac. That's an accomplishment worthy of an honorable mention.
William with these fast uploads, love it
Enjoying the daily uploads, esp since half of my repertoire is your repertoire.
THE ROOOOOOK
Will you ever be doing a more formal break down of this like you have for the Von Popiel and Von Henning?
Just marvelous!!!
Gambit glasses OP
Hopefully you can achieve that double rook sacrifice in a game someday.
Good stuff as usual William 👍
hey William, what would you do against 5. Kf3 Kc6, threatening to trade out the bishop that would be coming to d3? ty!
Against the French, you should look into the Deimer-Duhm Gambit.
Good!
Why not BG5 vs. KG5 in the first game?
You're interesting bro
What do you play against the Sicilian?
Smith-morra gambit
I have not had much success with this gambit. Anyone else? It's funny that fm's and im's fall for this, but 2000's on lichess don't.
