@@CJC0017 Thank you so much! Your words are so lovely and a real honour. I started two years ago showing the world, there are fans in women’s football and they’re are loud. The joy of the Australians is part of a big win for women’s football at all. 😊
I'm happy for Australia, but so sad for us. I really wanted to get lur first semi-final 😢😢😢. We are so unlucky with penalties shootout in France 😢. Anyway, good luck Australia for the rest of the tournament, may you reach at least the final, if not more.
Waltzing Matilda is the song :The song narrates the story of an itinerant worker, or "swagman", making a drink of billy tea at a bush camp and capturing a stray jumbuck (sheep) to eat. When the jumbuck's owner, a squatter (grazier), and three troopers (mounted policemen) pursue the swagman for theft, he declares "You'll never catch me alive!" and commits suicide by drowning himself in a nearby billabong (watering hole), after which his ghost haunts the site. Probably the best soccer game ever. France should be proud of their team they fought all the way. It was such a battle till the last second. Oh yes the "waltzing Matilda song. " It's a crazy old ballad about a man who steals a sheep and gets caught. He is takes his life rather than surrender to police. You learn this song when you are 5 years old. It almost became the national anthem . Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong. Under the shade of a coolibah tree. And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled You'll come a waltzing Matilda with me. Chorus: waltzing Matilda waltzing Matilda Matilda you'll come a waltzing Matilda with me . As he sat and he watched and he waited till his billy boiled ,you'll come a waltzing Matilda with me. Verse 2 Up rode the squatter mounted on his thoroughbred. Up rode the troopers 1, 2, 3. Where's that jolly jumback you've got in your Tucker bag. You'll come a waltzing Matilda with me. Chorus : Except you sing " where's that jolly jumback you've got in your Tucker bag " at the end of the chorus. Verse 3 Up jumped the swagman and dived into the billabong. "You'll never catch me alive" said he. And his voice may be heard as you pass by that billabong "You'll come a waltzing Matilda with me. Chorus Then you sing " and his voice may be heard as you pass by that billabong, you'll come a waltzing Matilda with me. Interpretation of some words A swagman is an itinerant worker who travels for work. Billabong. Is a pond A coolibah tree is a type of small tree A billy is a can used to boil water on a fire. A Matilda is his travelling pack or swag. A squatter is a person who took over and cleared land for their livestock. This land was taken from the original first nation people. Troopers : police Jumbuck : a sheep. Tucker bag: food bag It's a silly funny song that reflects the complex early origins in Australia. It reflects the lack of respect for authority in the Australian psyche. That you would rather die than give yourself up to police. It also glorifies and disrespects the squatter. The squatter who actually doesn't own the land yet has taken control and has the police on his side. It's holding a finger up to the so called respectable members of society. It illustrates what is truly valuable which is freedom and not being owned by others. The person who is glorified is the itinerant roving worker who believes he has a right to take a sheep if he is hungry. The fact that he would rather die than have his freedom taken away illustrates the essence of the Australian spirit. A carefree wild sense of freedom that will not be owned or bend to others rules. A person who lives life with their own set of ethics and has no respect for the so called authorities. Please feel free to disagree with me. Cheers
The song? Waltzing Matilda’s about a homeless gent stealing a sheep, running from the law and drowning in a billabong. It’s a national folk song en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waltzing_Matilda
It was written by Banjo Patterson, our best known poet. The Aboriginal man sung it with what is possibly a type of Aboriginal Creole, which mixes English with his tribe's language.
Say what you want..this what i saw not happen..why not use the var ..like the men..i saw French player kick in the face..potential red card..i saw a hand ball in the box..potential penalty..saw a goal refused for what ever reason 4 players around French player .and goal by Kennedy..saw a foul on a french player in the box potential penalty..saw an Australien player foul french player 4 times in a row no yellow…yes one side game for sure..now loosing by penalty…is not a win on the field..but playing another team and the ref…hum..where was the VAR….
WOW - congratulations!! Soccer is a great game, but we need more weddings and more babies. Being a "soccer mom" has many rewards. Giving birth to a bouncing baby is far more important and rewarding than bouncing a ball. 👶🍼
@@liqiz1755 A friendly. We can go back to this one if you want on Wednesday? England are too strong, they change formation so quickly when it's needed. As I've said, well done getting this far.

Good for you! So proud of our girls! The most successful football team representing Oz ever! Well done Tillies!
Yeah! That was a huge fight and France played very well during the tournament. What a victory. 🙌☺️
My heart hurt for 3 hours after the stress of these penalty kicks! I'm not even joking. I'm young and healthy I was just so excited! Go Tillies!
Excellent video!!! Thank you for this fantastic perspective!

Very fair statement! We saw French against Morocco, too. We have to say, it was one oft the best Teams of this years World Cup.
I’m not even French or Australian and I felt how nerve-shredding that was.
Over the past two weeks, Australia has finally and joyfully become a bona fide football nation.
The men did well to come 11th last year too!
Only for the next month.
Only for the girls. Men's soccer is still unbearable to watch

The song? Waltzing Matilda’s about a homeless gent stealing a sheep, running from the law and drowning in a billabong. It’s a national folk song

Yep, very well known (to us) Australian folk song. The team is nicknamed "The Matildas" after this song.
Ah thank you! I will read the article. It was very emotional to see the stadium singing the national folk song. Thanks for giving the information. 😊
Shame the fans can’t really manage any spontaneous chants or songs like European and South American fans do

The problem with soccer. The dreaded scorless draw. 😂
It s more exiting and create more drama than 100-80 ping pong basketball.
